As a person that lived in Atlanta and Houston I can say it's way better in Houston especially if you planned on having a family or starting a business.
I definitely agree. I lived in Atlanta 19 years before moving to Houston 7 years ago. I love Houston!!
Houston>>>> 🤣🤣
A lot of people are leaving from Texas in general especially Houston.
Why do you think that is?
🧢
The Houston “metro” is actually growing…
Because Texas is boring no shade.
Texas is so big so you have to be specific. Nothing boring about Houston! Thanks for watching 😃
As a Houston native, We actually want people to move Out of houston so the traffic won't be as bad as it is now!!!
For those judging and clowning others in their survival struggles STOP ! One day YOU might be the star attraction in your OWN circus.
Living arrangements are dictated by your situation, not age. Don't allow anyone to shame you!
Agreed! Thanks for watching 😀
I live in Houston. I have a 4/2 house and my mortgage is 1400. I was going to downsize and its just not worth it. She's right a 2/2 would be the same amount or more depending on the area. I'm thinking of moving to get a fresh start. 🤔 And I'm in spring area. Its just so crowded here and 45 is just awful to get on to go to work.
Nice. Spring but a bit far from things.
I'm in Spring also. Near Kuykendahl. Ii like this area. I've been here for 4 years now, from California. I'm in a 2 bedroom apartment, hoping to get a house soon. Rent is 1400 and some change for this new community. I'd rather be in a house spending this type of money
Please ..try traffic in LA... Houston isn't as bad
@arogers-zh3nl I'm from Cali and I know that traffic in LA. But Houston has gotten worst in the last 26 years. So it's still my truth because I stay here 👍🏾
@tracysimon7972 I'm from Cali also, and that's the reason I haven't downsized because I'd be paying the same amount.
I’m from Atlanta and been living in Houston and she did such a good job of describing both of the cities in comparison.
Thanks for watching! Which city do you prefer?
I'm from Houston but lived in Atl (went to CAU) and she really did do a good job with both.
I grew up in Houston and if I ever moved back, it would definitely be outside of the city of Houston. I’m in my 40s now and my values and needs are changing.
Thats understandable. Do you mind sharing what city you are in now? Thanks for watching!
As someone who has lived in Chicago and I now living in Houston, I can totally understand her plight. I've been living in Houston for about 13 years, and a lot of what she was describing is the culture of Houston and dynamics of the city. It does get really hot here, and if you enjoy ourdoors then Houston ain't it. There is a large funneling for condo/apartment life which is inhibiting if you want space. And housing in Houston vs Atlanta wouldn't take you as far. Ive never thought about leaving Houston but this is very convincing. I've always heard Atlanta has more bang for your buck when it comes to housing; but I just don't know about paying more taxes in GA that I don't pay living in TX.
I literally hate Houston. Let my sister talk me into moving here from CA, and I cant wait to go home at the end of the year. Horrible energy here.
Oh no Im sorry your experience isnt going as planned. What dont you like? Do you have a social life here?
@@EJIMANnenaNgozi I just didn't like the dark energy here. I felt it very shortly after moving here, but can maneuver a little better thru it now.
I moved from Cali here too and I hate it here too . I can’t pinpoint the energy but I just can’t do it . I’m going to try Dallas , if not I’m moving back home . The nightlife is top tier though!
I'm leaving Houston in less than 24 hours bittersweet, I have an opportunity in DMV but I intend to come back .
Aww goodluck!
I am moving to Pearland TX, coming from Philly not wanting to move into the city of Houston.
Welcome, I moved to Houston from Philly!
Heyyy!!! 💃🏽
I'm from Houston but bought a house in Pearland 5 years ago. It's a great community. Welcome! 🤗
I hear Pearland is a great place to live.
Do your research on every suburb, prior to making a decision. Pearland does not like black folks in their neighborhood or school systems and thats on record.
I live in Pearland it's a great place!
Insightful things said here about Atlanta and Houston thank you! I live in Dallas, TX apartments and housing cost have been rising crazy here since the pandemic. And lots of people are moving here.
Thanks for watching! And yes Dallas is getting expensive as well.
Imagine staying indoors the whole summer in Houston bc of the heat & imagine,
How much is the ELECTRIC BILL?
lol we both love the heat so it really depends on the person. My coworker paid $600 over the summer for electric bill. She lives in a house but I’m not sure how big it is.
Houston gets hot, but overall the weather here is way better than living up north where it's cold for several months throughout the year. I always put it to people like this. Houston is really hot for three months. However, during the day time most of us are at work in a cool office building five days out of the week. During the weekend you can still go out to eat, drink, etc in the daytime and at night it's not nearly as hot so you can do outdoor stuff too. It's not as bad as people make it out to be. I love long distance running and either get my jogging in before 9 am or after 6 pm in the evening with no issues. From Sept through May it rarely gets cold which means more time for outdoor activities. In cold weather states, it is cold from October through even parts of April and May. 24 hours of non-stop cold, Grey skies, and even lots of snow. I lived in the Midwest before and I'm taking Houston weather over ten out of ten times without hesitation. No one wants to be outside in the cold.
High as fuck. Your bill will double. Speaking from experience
@beauty4717 If you grew up in Houston you definitely won't be staying indoors during the summer.
@@EJIMANnenaNgoziI agree, I love the heat also, so that hasn’t been a issue for me!
I’ve lived in Ga for 17 years living from downtown to the suburbs and thinking of moving to Houston for work. I stayed in Houston (77092) for 4 months in the fall . Thanks for sharing y’all thoughts
You are welcome! Four months is a good amount of time to get a feel for the city.
Wow this was so insightful! Please bring on more guests.
As a Atlanta resident, This is a totally fair assessment of Atlanta
Happy this resonated with you 😃
Hi..My Naija..Ladies....Houston is big...alot of driving..Traffic..but i am.concerned...about the..Floods
Yeah thats a genuine concern. We have a few tornadoes already.
Rightfully so. Also be concerned about the grid system. The slightest heavy storm and you have no power. I can’t do it. I’m leaving in Oct
l don't know how true this is but l heard that Houston has a STD epidemic that was pretty bad but like l said it was hear say so l don't know if it's true or not
I will look into this!
It’s very true there was a big break out over the summer
To be fair honestly every big city got huge STD problems nowadays.
Philadelphia , Atlanta and cities surrounding Atlanta have high std rates and particularly people of color with the highest rates.🤢
True, and so does ATL
That’s funny I’m in Atlanta and thinking of moving to Texas.
Cool! Which part(s) of Texas are you looking into?
@@EJIMANnenaNgozi Prosper, do you know anything about it? Are they racially friendly?
Don’t move to Houston. We full here anyway 😭🤘🏾
Too late 🤣😘
More money in H-TOWN
Houston was the black mecca before ATL in the 90s. ATL exploded because blacks who wanted to act move to ATL. That's why it's the Black Hollywood. The city gave Tax breaks for movies. So Black Production companies took advantage of it. Thats why you watch movies from the 90s you can see at the end ATL. Because Hollywood was shooting in Canada but blacks didn't get roles. I mean Music was already there but with movies it drew more people. So it was place to be if you black and wanted to network with Movie and Music Stars. So people followed. Thats when houston started to fall off like around 99-2000. Texas popped back up after Austin city limits and building up Austin. People started to flood back in. I think the people that moved to tx 2019-23 are the last wave and it level out. Because it seems like they are only staying for 1-4 years and leaving because they don't like it long term.
Thank you for this information!
@@EJIMANnenaNgozithat man is lying. Houston wasn’t consider a Black “Mecca” or a big attraction for Black people nationally to relocate to till the mid 2000’s. Honestly when I moved to Houston in 2009 it was on the come up but didn’t have the national rep it has now with Black folks. In the 90s it was only a big draw to other Texas cities and Southwest Louisiana. There wasn’t even a huge influx of New Orleans or Baton Rogue transplants then.
That’s revisionist history right there.
Yes all city's will steal from u but atlanta has way to many gay women
You ALL CAP. Houston still IS NOT a Mecca...its Still Atlanta and DMV second to that.
Houston was a middle of the road city until recently. No one went to houston for fame, or as a tourist. Still not a tourist or fame destination
50 is collaborating right now to build a movie studio complex here in Houston! HT has the space. Its the place to be. Alot of things happening.
He is building a studio in Shreveport. It has already been approved.
Facts.. Not in Houston
Not HTOWN. My error.
If being around a larger black alternative lifestyle community is the determining factor then living outside of Atlanta is the best way to go. Maybe even Savannah, Georgia
Thats good to know! I heard about Savannah but never been. Thanks for watching.
Hi ladies, do you have the viewer's info who joined the live chat? I have some questions about Atlanta vs Houston. I was messaging with someone that I thought was her but I totally mixed up the people in the chat and it turned out to be someone who never lived in Houston...so I had the wrong person lol.
Facts I was thinking the same thing wish I had her info
Hello! We only have her UA-cam channel name.
I love ATL ❤
Do you live in ATL?
I love Houston I’m in a 4/3 1500 house note in Katy I wish I would leave.
Aww nice! How long have you been in Houston?
I live in apartment in Houston and have a two car garage.
Nice! What area if you dont mind me asking?
@@EJIMANnenaNgozi westheimer. Near the Galleria mall.
@spicecreations1416 nice!
Can someone get us her info😢😢😢
Pls don’t come back we full 😂
I’m srry but as a native Houstonian I couldn’t disagree more Call it biased or whtevr u want But it’s been statistically proven tht Houston has a younger generation then Atlanta Cuz I mean if the LGBTQ thing is important to you then yeah Atlanta is where it’s at But I really wouldn’t go any further then tht Bcuz they call Atl the black Hollywood And for wht???Cuz outside of the wannabe rappers/singers && local UA-cam influencers there’s no real known artists tht even reside in Atlanta nor the state of Georgia🤷🏾The Real celebrities reside in L.A. Cuz they could actually afford the California cost of living the original Hollywood And Atlanta is just a knockoff && cheaper version of tht Hell Even Houston have well known celebrities tht reside here like 50 cent James harden rick Ross nba young who’s off&&on Shaquille O’Neal And just recently drake just to name a few Nonetheless Atlanta is the gay &&scam capital of the U.S. But above both atl is the H.I.V. mecca of America And Souces shows tht the hiv cases in the city of Atlanta alone is equivalent to tht of three African third world countries combined And needless to say But Atlanta been played out since the earlier 2000’s its the past the old era And Htowns the new era point blank periodttt🥱🤷🏿♂️💯
I guess you live in Houston lol.
@@EJIMANnenaNgozi No I’m from Houston && thts literally the first thing I said So guess your illiterate or as it seems🤷🏿♂️And it makes a difference of my status w/ Houston it still doesn’t change the factzzz of wht I said💁🏾♂️💁🏾♂️
@S.west_R3ALHtownSHITT_713 What three African third world countries? Can you be specific and provide the sources? I'm from Houston, but this comment comes off ignorant.
Goofy and cap.
@@Dutchess80 Right. Her comment is cringe. It's embarrassing that she's from sw htx. I hope people know we have intelligent people in Houston. She's just not one of them.
Coming from Florida, I've lived in Texas since 2003.I have called Houston home since 2016. The secret to being successful in Texas is... Texas has to choose you, you can't choose to live in Texas. 😂
I'm from Virginia, and I live in Dallas. I love not paying all those taxes and being able to afford a 4000sq ft home.
I feel that! Houston is more for young professionals in a relationship. I’m a lesbian and single and Houston is not it for dating etc.
Interesting analysis. How long have you been in Houston?
@@EJIMANnenaNgozi 3 years last month darling
@amberyoung5192 Houston isn't a place to date regardless of orientation.
@@soufwesthoustontx - Lawwwd, if that ain't the truth!!! 😩💯
@@soufwesthoustontx I agree. This is my 4th year here. I've been on one date, cause I don't wanna meet anyone here since I'm moving back home shortly. I never trusted meeting anyone here.
This video gave the sister with the Locs the entire floor I didn’t hear from anyone else😩👎🏽
👍🏽
Omfg as soon as I seen this want to be man I just lost all interest
Interest in moving to ATL?
