Here's a guy who listens to Metallica, Iron Maiden, Machine Head, In Flames, Rammstein, Cradle of Filth, any many others, and I freakin love Babymetal. OK, being honest here: I cannot know about Yui and Moa's musical prowess because they are credited (in the band's own website) as "screaming and dancing". So I cannot really know how well trained they are musically. As for Yui and Moa's professionality as members of the band, only good things can be said: they can warm a crowd as the biggest flamethrower, they are always smiling, and their choreographies would be hard for many people (most of their choreographies include an insane amount of jumping... most people who aren't gym regulars would be out of breath in two songs, and not many people could endure the cardio these two do in a full concert... much less with a smile on their faces and an effortless look). Their professionalism and hard work are top notch, there's no doubt of that. The thing is... if I start saying good things about Yui and Moa, I will eventually go into their looks, and I didn't want to do that out of respect for them. They are the cutest, most adorable creatures on earth. I guess Moa is the most beautiful, but for me, Yui's smile is the automatic heartwarmer, I feel happier when she smiles. I just melt when I see these girls. If I was a teenager, I would consider myself very much in love and would ask myself if I was a lesbian. Accept it, this form of metal has gained immense recognition and their music is simply refreshing and much better than all the other "songs" about stupid stuff which keep coming out nowadays. I'd given up on music until I heard them and on the side note, tried out classical music. They do a fine job of what they're trying to do, bring lots of inspiration to the youth and older people too, and are soo humble with the attention they get, you won't find such cute and considerate members anywhere. Scott Young Haters fail to understand that spreading hate won't get them anywhere. Metal is already a small niche compared to other genres. Infighting between fans and bands will not improve the metal genre. What metal needs is a younger generation that will appreciate the music and become a fan. Babymetal is the band that is currently attracting a lot of young teens and kids. They need to take this opportunity to ride this sudden surge of interest in the metal genre.
For some people, Metal is so important that they feel a sense of ownership. When something comes and shakes their norms, they react defensively. This was already a year ago and Su's English was already pretty good. She could have easily said "loud wiya" but she clearly made the effort for the proper "wire" I love it. I hope to hear more of her English in future interviews.

I love Thrash Metal and Heavy Metal, in general. I like things to be heavy and brutal. And I don't generally like pop of any kind. So when I first heard about BabyMetal and saw what they looked like, I dismissed them immediately. I thought it looked ridiculous and didn't even want to listen to them. It took me a long time, in which I saw them here and there, before I one day had enough. I decided to actually give the band an honest chance and listen to them. So I watched a live performance of their song "Road of Resistance" and at the end of the video my jaw was positioned on the floor. I got so shocked and so very impressed. Now I'm a big fan of theirs and I really like how they put together all elements from both worlds, into one awesome experience. They are amazing.

Well, I do believe they all started their professional career as a child model (Suzuka started when she was still in diapers, the other 2 at 7 or 8 years old I think). So I assume they all had at the least were very cute kids or had flawless skin. Except for Suzuka's mole, but hey Cindy Crawford had a mole too.
No. they started as idol singers in a group called Sakura Gakuin. Su had previously been in another idol group called Karen girls. Being cute is (i think), a requirement for entering those groups, but it's not that important. Like, they don't need to be super pretty, specially since they joined whn they were like 10. They just happened to have grown pretty.

Say what you want about them, their mission is great. My smile went from an excited "oh my god they're cute" smile to a warm "these girls actually seem like legitimately good people" smile over the course of the video. But it never broke. I'm glad to see people in these comments keeping an open mind for as far down as I dared to go. If the rest of us could lighten up like this and let live, maybe the message they aim to spread could be heard farther and clearer. IMO, a huge part of metal is being individual, breaking away from norms. id like to put something out there. i see alot of people sayying that theyre being told what to say in interviews by their handlers producers etc. the reason being is because these girls are still minors (except for su) so naturally the people endorsing them will be wanna be the ones to call the shots at least until all 3 of the girls are 18. when that day comes i bet that we will be seeing babymetals true colors when it comes to interviews songwriting skills and such. you gotta understand that these girls from a culture where elders always get the final say in things. i think people are misinterpreting this in a way where they think that either of the girls dont wanna write lyrics or choreograph any dance. i really think the reason is because theyre not being given the chance. i dont respect babymetal any less for this if anything my anger goes towards koba for not letting these girls shine 100%

Good theorizing but I've seen interviews where they've been very open and talk about what theyve written and contributing to the choreography etc.. They are tightly managed (as 12 year olds when they started should be) but are still individuals.. They are very culturally driven and that's not a bad thing..

For anyone think that Yui really like Cannibal Corpse, it is nothing but a staged answer by Koba himself, don't take it seriously. Every time they change their answers according to who Amuse want to collaborate with. This is the best and most plausible explanation that I've heard. -------------------------------- Speculation is; Yui had a minor back injury sometime in 2017 and tried to perform despite of it, using painkillers and a back brace. She aggravated her injury right before Legend S (probably during rehearsals) to the point not even the painkillers could help and has been in recovery ever since. The injury was probably a herniated disc. ====================== Back injuries however, tend to linger and lots of people try to work/play/perform through it. That opens up the risk of aggravating the injury, thus resulting in long term damage. ---------------------------------- It is just fans noticing things which all seeming to add up and make the back injury theory make the most sense. Again, this is not official , but the most logical explanation I can think of and what info I have gathered. I have also had this same injury and know for sure, her pain. Her swollen face is most likely from the meds she took for pain and inflammation, probably prednisone . The poor thing must have been in agony. I know we all miss her, but it would be cruel and selfish for us fans to wish her back on the unforgiving stage. She could end up in a wheel chair, sucks 😢

I guess I was playing the "Oh, I'm so into metal, and I only judge this band musically" ;-D . OK, being honest here: I cannot know about Yui and Moa's musical prowess because they are credited (in the band's own website) as "screaming and dancing". So I cannot really know how well trained they are musically.
As for Yui and Moa's professionality as members of the band, only good things can be said: they can warm a crowd as the biggest flamethrower, they are always smiling, and their choreographies would be hard for many people (most of their choreographies include an insane amount of jumping... most people who aren't gym regulars would be out of breath in two songs, and not many people could endure the cardio these two do in a full concert... much less with a smile on their faces and an effortless look). Their professionalism and hard work are top notch, there's no doubt of that.
The thing is... if I start saying good things about Yui and Moa, I will eventually go into their looks, and I didn't want to do that out of respect for them. They are the cutest, most adorable creatures on earth. I guess Moa is the most beautiful, but for me, Yui's smile is the automatic heartwarmer, I feel happier when she smiles. I just melt when I see these girls. If I was a teenager, I would consider myself very much in love and would ask myself if I was a lesbian.
Seriously, I see Yui and Moa dancing to Su's singing and the band's music and everything's right with the world. Actually, when I see Yui's smile, I can only picture a terrorist dropping his AK-47, unable to commit acts of murder in the same planet where Yui exists. In fact, the philosophical question remains: how is it possible for violence and cruelty to happen in the same world where Yui and Moa live? Lack of youtube access and broadband internet connection?
So... thing about Yui and Moa is, they are adorable. No one, no living creature on earth is cuter than these girls. I mean, I was sorta cute at their age, but I was human-cute, and they are out-of-this-universe-from-another-plane-of-existence-beyond-human-über-Kawaii. And I didn't want to take the focus out of the fact that they are extreme hard-working professionals doing an excellent job. They didn't choose to be cute, but they chose to work hard making people happy, and that's what I'd rather praise.

It's fun to see butthurt so-called metal fans trying to blindly hate on this absolutely amazing band just to make their lousy selfs feel better. Accept it, this form of metal has gained immense recognition and their music is simply refreshing and much better than all the other "songs" about stupid stuff which keep coming out nowadays. I'd given up on music until I heard them and on the side note, tried out classical music. They do a fine job of what they're trying to do, bring lots of inspiration to the youth and older people too, and are soo humble with the attention they get, you won't find such cute and considerate members anywhere. Scott Young Haters fail to understand that spreading hate won't get them anywhere. Metal is already a small niche compared to other genres. Infighting between fans and bands will not improve the metal genre. What metal needs is a younger generation that will appreciate the music and become a fan. Babymetal is the band that is currently attracting a lot of young teens and kids. They need to take this opportunity to ride this sudden surge of interest in the metal genre.
For some people, Metal is so important that they feel a sense of ownership. When something comes and shakes their norms, they react defensively. It could happen to anyone, when something threatens normality. Of course, if Metal is good at something, it's evolving and survivng. That said I don't really care if BM is truly Metal, or it's own thing.

This was already a year ago and Su's English was already pretty good. She could have easily said "loud wiya" but she clearly made the effort for the proper "wire" I love it. I hope to hear more of her English in future interviews.
She even pronounces the thorn, the "th" sound at the beginning of "thank you." Very hard for people not raised with it.

I love how Moa pronunces desu as deth. Also, the expressions she makes from 6:05 to 6:10, so damn cute.

I love Thrash Metal and Heavy Metal, in general. I like things to be heavy and brutal. And I don't generally like pop of any kind. So when I first heard about BabyMetal and saw what they looked like, I dismissed them immediately. I thought it looked ridiculous and didn't even want to listen to them. It took me a long time, in which I saw them here and there, before I one day had enough. I decided to actually give the band an honest chance and listen to them.
So I watched a live performance of their song "Road of Resistance" and at the end of the video my jaw was positioned on the floor. I got so shocked and so very impressed. Now I'm a big fan of theirs and I really like how they put together all elements from both worlds, into one awesome experience. They are amazing.

Well, I do believe they all started their professional career as a child model (Suzuka started when she was still in diapers, the other 2 at 7 or 8 years old I think). So I assume they all had at the least were very cute kids or had flawless skin. Except for Suzuka's mole, but hey Cindy Crawford had a mole too.
No. they started as idol singers in a group called Sakura Gakuin. Su had previously been in another idol group called Karen girls. Being cute is (i think), a requirement for entering those groups, but it's not that important. Like, they don't need to be super pretty, specially since they joined whn they were like 10.

Say what you want about them, their mission is great. My smile went from an excited "oh my god they're cute" smile to a warm "these girls actually seem like legitimately good people" smile over the course of the video. But it never broke.
I'm glad to see people in these comments keeping an open mind for as far down as I dared to go. If the rest of us could lighten up like this and let live, maybe the message they aim to spread could be heard farther and clearer. IMO, a huge part of metal is being individual, breaking away from norms. id like to put something out there. i see alot of people sayying that theyre being told what to say in interviews by their handlers producers etc. the reason being is because these girls are still minors (except for su) so naturally the people endorsing them will be wanna be the ones to call the shots at least until all 3 of the girls are 18. when that day comes i bet that we will be seeing babymetals true colors when it comes to interviews songwriting skills and such. you gotta understand that these girls from a culture where elders always get the final say in things. i think people are misinterpreting this in a way where they think that either of the girls dont wanna write lyrics or choreograph any dance. i really think the reason is because theyre not being given the chance. i dont respect babymetal any less for this if anything my anger goes towards koba for not letting these girls shine 100%

Good theorizing but I've seen interviews where they've been very open and talk about what theyve written and contributing to the choreography etc.. They are tightly managed (as 12 year olds when they started should be) but are still individuals.. They are very culturally driven and that's not a bad thing..

For anyone think that Yui really like Cannibal Corpse, it is nothing but a staged answer by Koba himself, don't take it seriously. Every time they change their answers according to who Amuse want to collaborate with. Speculation is; Yui had a minor back injury sometime in 2017 and tried to perform despite of it, using painkillers and a back brace. She aggravated her injury right before Legend S (probably during rehearsals) to the point not even the painkillers could help and has been in recovery ever since. The injury was probably a herniated disc.

Back injuries however, tend to linger and lots of people try to work/play/perform through it. That opens up the risk of aggravating the injury, thus resulting in long term damage.

Again, this is not official , but the most logical explanation I can think of and what info I have gathered. I have also had this same injury and know for sure, her pain. Her swollen face is most likely from the meds she took for pain and inflammation, probably prednisone . The poor thing must have been in agony. I know we all miss her, but it would be cruel and selfish for us fans to wish her back on the unforgiving stage. She could end up in a wheel chair, sucks 😢
