5 Min Full Body Warm Up with Caroline Girvan

- This is full body 5 min warm up you can follow along to prior to exercise. If you follow along before your workouts, you will quickly get to know what’s coming next and won’t feel the need to watch this over and over as it will become second nature!
I would recommend further warming up if carrying out working sets. For example:
Bar only for 20 reps for chest press, barbell squats etc before working sets
If using using, use lighter weight for warm up set(s)
At least 20 reps bodyweight lunges or squats before weighted sets
For plyometrics, incorporate set(s) of less powerful jumps etc
This video is simply to give you an idea, so please feel free to make it your own! If you have really tight hamstrings for example, simply carry out more dynamic stretching on this area.

That is roughly the same warm up we did for all PT in the Army(UK). Work yourself down the body. Easy to remember easy to repeat!

Shoulder Rolls: 3 foward and 3 backward
Neck Rolls: Left, Right, Around
Arm Wheels Forward: 4 left and right
Arm Wheels Backward: 4 left and right
Space Hugs: 8
Overhead Throw: 5
Hand Twists: 4 seconds
Touch Toes: 4 both sides
Squats: 7
Lunges: 4 both sides
Big squats: 7
Knee Twist: 5 both sides
Elbow to Knee: 4 both sides
Hold Up Knee and Move foot around
Big Wave: 4
Dance a little
Could someone please clarify what the difference between the two squats is please.
One's an ordinary squat and one's a sumo squat 👍🏼

I'm 70 and love doing this warm-up after waking up to get my joints going for the day. This helps me to start my day!
Please don’t skip this. I never warmed up before workouts, was just too impatient. Ended up injuring myself by going too hard. I didn’t think it could happen to me because I was in pretty good shape. I’m here to yell you, it can and it will. Take the time to do this, or any of her other warm ups. Not doing it and saving 5 minutes from your day is NOT WORTH IT! Believe it from someone who learned the hard way. I will never skip a warm up ever again.
I couldn't agree more, I always ignored it when Caroline said to warm up before the workout because "I didn't have time", but in all seriousness, literally just 5 minutes can make the biggest difference
Can confirm. I got rotator cuff tears and had to have shoulder arthroscopy.
my dog knows the intro song for all of Caroline's videos because he likes to chew on his bone when I'm working out, and whenever I play a video he runs up to me all excited ha ha

My Oncology nurse noticed that I was getting weaker. She suggested I try your videos. Now I just got thru the first one, but it worked for me. I love this warmup! I workout in the early morning so sometimes my joints are quite stiff still. This workout is short and loosens me up so I can be onto starting my workout in a jiffy!

Hi all! I started EPIC Beginner with my mom. After thousands of attempts, she is finally in. Yay! She is 53 (height: 150 cm, weight: 64 kg) and I am 17 (height: 160 cm, weight: 52 kg). I will update our progress daily here:
21.01.2022 - Day 1 ✅ We thought we were dead at first 6 minutes lol. but still handled!
22.01.2022 - Day 2 ✅ Planks were really hard for mom. She did basic planks instead of complicated ones
23.01.2022 - Day 3 ✅ It was okay, much better than first two days
24.01.2022 - Day 4 ✅ We both liked working out with dumbbells
25.01.2022 - Day 5 ✅ Mom did not like burpees at all lol. She rested 40 seconds ( 30sec rest + burpees) But it was okay for me.
26.01.2022 - nothing
27.01.2022 - nothing
