Absolutely agree John, so very foundational in influencing so many musicians in the decades following. They're unique ideas and approach on guitar still stand alone to me, set apart. 😎
Jimmy Page and Ritchie Blackmore might have laid a foundation for heavy metal even though they weren't exactly considered heavy metal bands but Tony Iommi was Heavy Metal from the beginning. He would be considered the Godfather of heavy metal....period
I would say Becks Bolero 1968 (well before Sabbath, Zeppelin or Deep Purple) is an early Heavy Metal
@@sammybeck7794 LOL!!! Yeah, Zeppelin WAS considered "heavy metal" at the time...as were Cream, Mountain, Deep Purple, Steppenwolf and a number of other bands. Those were the bands around which the term was first used.
In the mid 70s the term narrowed in definition to describe the later bands, but in the late 60s we routinely referred to them as heavy metal.

The only problem back then with seeing Deep Purple Live was they were quite expensive. Soon after this was recorded I sw them at The World Famous: Royal Albert Hall and the ticket cost..........................25 PENCE or 34 CENTS :)

Under rated and sometimes overlooked, Ritchie Blackmore can shred a guitar and look relaxed, eve during solos. 🎼🎶🎸🎸🎹🎤🤘😎🔥🔥

My reguest is for you to put on those beadphones on andtake a wild trip with space trucking live from made in japan. 5 musicians and the top of their games jamming an encore like no one else. Driving none stop drums 4 20 minues. Th3 great jon lord doing what only he could do. Sounds you didnt even were possible. Slick guitar played with violin bow. Just close your eyes and alter ur minds!

Ok these guys are my 3rd favorite all time band!! 💜💜 They are another band that are of masters of their craft!! Jon Lord is widely considered to be the best keyboardist of all time! Ian Gillan is legendary for his vocals, Ritchie Blackmore is almost always in your top 5 all time great guitarist, the drummer Ian Paice is sometimes not appreciated enough I feel because he’s a beast & Roger Glover on bass keeps their rhythm on target!!!

I think, you would like some songs of the most underrated album from Deep Purple, "Fireball". I love this one. You should react to every song on it, but especially to "Fools" and also to, for me the first rap metal song, "No one came". This is music at its best. I love all the other songs every one here proposes in their coments, but these little gems must have more attention.

if you want the entire effect of Purple listen to this song on the double live album ... Made In Japan still to this day in the top ten of any list of the greatest live albums of all time .. and on many list #1.. They did Machine Head in the hallways of an abandoned hotel with the Rolling Stones Mobile Unit the place they were set to record was burned down in Geneva Switzerland .. that is what the song Smoke On The Water is About. Child In Time is also the best version on Made In Japan .. if you really want to feel the raw power of the greatest musicians ever in one band .. put your headphones on and crank it up loud and get a feel for what it was like to witness the utter symphonic chaos of one of the greatest bands of all time. At the very least listen to Lazy and Child In Time from the Made In Japan dbl live albums. Great reaction .. tc bro

Deep purple were BADASS!!! no joke. thing is, after this album, which was huge....,they lost the singer and bass player (or fired them)....could have been disastrous, but they added 2 new members and recorded the album BURN. FANTASTIC album. i'm going to recommend the song BURN. one of the most killer guitar riffs ever
