Great tutorial on painting clouds wet on wet. My biggest problem is making sure my paint is creamy and that I always blot my brush. I’ve been painting in watercolors for several years but even painting your daily challenges I’m learning so much. This is a wonderful course for beginners as well as those who have been painting for a long time. I find there is always something to learn. And to you, I’d like to say, you are an awesome teacher…you make mistakes (like we all do), you don’t get upset, you just show us how to correct them, or live with them, you guide us thru each painting as if you were sitting beside us. Your voice is very soothing and you have a sense of humor which makes painting fun. For all these, and many more….I thank you.
Nell your kind comment made my day! Thank you so very much! ❤️
nice simple moody clouds🥰
😊
Excellent
LOL! “Just look up” I live in Western Australia. If I was snapping the sky at the moment I’d be doing a blue flat wash. Joking aside though. Fantastic video. Thank you so much ❤
There is beauty in a flat wash, too!
Found this video very helpful and informative thanks
Glad it was helpful!
Hullo Emily, I have been enjoying watching your videos, yes I am a rather newer subscriber and have found your videos entertaining and you so knowledgeable too! Thank you for sharing your time and expertise with us. I like how you show so many ways to create and not get stuck on using only one technique. You are truly inspirational and such a wonderful painter, super sweet too! Thank you.
Thank you for always writing the nicest comments!
Fantastic tutorial. Thank you so much..
Great video, very easy to understand a potentially daunting technique 💎. One way to extend drying time is to use a fine spray mister. It won’t disturb the paint already laid down, and used lightly it will keep everything at the optimum dampness for wet on wet. But you have to use it just before the shine disappears. Works great for larger areas!
Great tip!
Thank you as always for your fun tutorials, you explain things so well and add little nuances that as a 5 year beginner I would not have thought of. Your also very pretty and sweet! ❤ Patti
Thank you, Patti!
Another great tutorial. Thank you so much!
You are so welcome!
this is beautiful and very well explained, I like to use these methods too 😊
Thank you! 😊
Beautiful painting and great tutorial, thank you. 👍🏻👍🏻
My pleasure 😊
Please make a tutorial about making smoke in watercolor ❤
Great suggestion!
thank you
Welcome!
Thank you very much for this helpful video! I wanted to ask what kind of brush are you using? Can I buy it online?
Yep, there’s a link in the description! 😀
Emily, do you have practice projects on your website for advanced painters as well as beginners? I need to change up what I’m currently doing.
Yes, definitely! There are about 150 real time tutorials covering all different subjects-a lot of animals/portraits, etc. that are more advanced.
Important when you wet your paper, check for PUDDLES. The paper should be shiny but have no puddles on it.
Even blocks buckle...as seen here ..and expensive. Best way to avoid buckling have seen is wetting paper either sides
That is a great solution especially if you’re setting the whole paper like this.
You're so knowledgeable, and I learn a lot from your you tube channel, but I wanted to say, if you hadn't already noticed , that your right eye appears to be getting smaller. I apologize in advance if you find this comment irritating
