Stainless steel also includes toxic heavy metals that can leach out under certain circumstances. And those metals are far more "forever" than organic compounds like Teflon. Yes Teflon doesn't naturally occur, but the metals don't occur very often naturally in large densities either. The fact is that humans are huge accumulators, we create things that are toxic - but we also move things that naturally exist in low densities into very high densities and dramatically increase their toxicity.
The reality is that we do a ton of things that are bad for this planet. Yes we should move to less toxic processes when it works, but we're always doing it at such scales, and always lagging behind. Just jumping between different methods isn't good for us or the planet. We need to stick with things that are good enough (until something better comes along and we're very sure it's actually better), and instead focus on actually reducing our consumption and making sure we can actually get rid of our waste.
Plus Teflon is organic (in the chemistry sense). I know organic compounds can be just as destructive as any other. But if there's one thing the last 4 billion years have proved, it's that organic chemistry is very very malleable, and that life is brilliant at exploiting it. Whereas it seriously struggles at dealing with toxic non-organic compounds. They simply aren't the same thing, they just work differently.
This doesn't even cover the raw amount of energy required for Teflon Vs something like stainless or aluminium.

you are not eating the coating.
    Secondly,
It passes your system as it is because it cannot be ingested.
Thirdly, if you avoid overheating the frying oil until it smokes you should be OK.
Lastly, if you do overheat the frying oil until it smokes and burns then teflon should be the lesser thing to worry anyways when it comes to your health.

That way, you can put your food in the basket, and afterward, you just lift out the liner and wash it. Silicone is safe, and you've preserved the coating in your air fryer. nonstick coatings are fine as you can not digest them so they never stay in your body,
the only warnings i know of are the chemicals when in the production stage where they are in forms that can be abaorbed in very large quanties in short times but once applied and hardened to a surface its beyond safe even to the point of cobsuming small chips of the substance due to it being indigestable and not absorbing into bones.

Ya the video is misleading. PFAS are bad but you don’t get exposed to them with hardened teflux unless you super heat the material until it starts to dissolve. Even chipping or scratched teflon poses no further risk than consuming chipped or flaked plastic. Not good but not bad either. We should minimize use of Teflon due to its toxic production byproducts but fear mongering like this isn’t helpful

Instead of these influencers using fear and scare tactics, they should use their platform to inform people of the broader hazards of where PFOAs and PFAS come from. As a professional in the Environmental Health and Safety field it is important to know they are in our everyday products: non stick cookware, eye make up, stain resistant products, takeout containers, candy wrapper, fire retardant/water resistant products (used on clothes, fabrics, etc) , cleaning products, nail polish, shampoo, and even fire fighting foam that has made its way into municipal water.
This has all been tested and monitored for well over a decade but you are hearing more about it because the it is better understood now and is becoming regulated by the EPA.
The internet is a powerful tool, don’t let some influencer dictated what you will and won’t use (especially because she is still being exposed other ways, she’s just picking her scary point to get you to get worked up about) do some research because there is plenty available at the click of a button on reputable sites.
