- Hello to all of you fellow fans of Scream. I hope all of you are having a great day so far. Today i wanted to do a video because there’s been a couple of rumours here and there about what some are calling the ‘future of scream’. But I’ve not reported it personally because I’ve held back to see what the reaction would be, see if any other bits of information would come to light about it. Now whilst there hasn’t been anything specific, I have asked around and have been given some more details on what exactly it is that spyglass are trying to do going forward with this franchise. So without further ado, let’s just jump straight in.

I would love a series in which every season explores the previous killers preparing/practicing for their Ghostface killing spree ie: Mickey becoming a killer and at the end of the season meets Mrs.Loomis and that leads into Scream 2. Roman planning his revenge and last episode if him at Cotton’s apt. Etc etc. could be fun!

That would he cool, but it's been over 20 years since most of these films came out, so they'd have to recast or deage everyone, and neither of those would he good honestly. Dope idea tho

@seanstrosities bates motel works because he looks like a young version of Anthony Perkins. Also, it's set when Norman is a teenager. The characters in scream were already teenagers, so if you use teenagers now, it won't be convincing that it's supposed to be the same people. No one is gonna look at another teen actor and think, yeah I can see him looking like timothy olyphant did in scream 2 in less than 2 years 🤣
TV series should be a prequel
The undisputed legend of horror franchises. Still going strong all these years later, and looks like it will continue to do so.
No other franchise can match Scream and its quality and consistency.
An anthology series could be fun, each season could be a different killer in a different part of the world that could lead to the cult of Ghostface
It should be noted that today Mason Gooding announced a NEW SPYGLASS project...you know for all those mad at Neve LOL. So much for sticking up for Melissa like you all want.
this isnt the gotcha moment you think it is, he could’ve been contractually obligated to make the film we don’t know. people have a valid reason to criticize neve and spyglass.

I would love a show with Kirby. I don't need Ghostface to be in the show or the movies. Ghostface isn't THE selling point for everyone. The selling points for me are awesome final girls, interesting characters, good engaging story lines, and cool kills. Ghostface is always a different person anyone so why is that particular mask needed? If they make a good show or movie and it gets enough buzz, it will do fairly well
I wish they'd just pick Lakewood back up instead of another new show. I'm still so hung up on that cliffhanger that I didn't realise it's already been 8 years. They did us dirty.
How can there be more killings if the premise of 6 was to do a countdown of all the killings? If they're going to see a series, I think it should be done where each episode is supposed to be mini Stab movies of non-canon events. That way you could make episodes where some are related to Woodsboro, some that aren't.

I feel like if they do a killers backstory a season they should call it stab but have one of the characters playing the Ghostface backstory characters die every season until the killer is revealed
I can see them really doing a fantastic job with this… not only giving more details in Kirby’s work of dealing with ghostface attacks, but also bring it back to 2011 telling how she survived and becoming who she is as an FBI agent taking special interest in ghostface attacks. Hayden will have quite an addition to her career with this!!
IF a Scream TV show were made set within the universe of the movies.
I'd love for the show to take that line Kirby said in Scream 6 and put some weight behind it like you said.
And have it be other GhostFace crimes by The GhostFace cult that'll be revealed in Scream 7.
Or a possible prequel to Scream 1, if that happens, I'd love to see a murder mystery that revolved around Maureen and see Cotton go to trial with Sidney. And hint Billy and Stu killed her but without revealing them, and in the end it feels like a cliffhanger that sets up something. (Scream 1)
Those are my ideas. I wouldn't want a tv show wet within the films if it'll focus on the killers before they put on the GhostFace costume. That would ruin the mystery.

Why is every franchise expanding just tell good stories we don’t need tv shows. .
Besides which, they're rarely good. The Disney+ content for the MCU and Star Wars isn't exactly met with glowing praise, unless you count getting dunked on by UA-camrs.
What would be cool would be to release a tv series 6 months after a movie. The movie will run and at the end you find out who the killers are. The TV show then is about the killers and what led up to the movie. Like maybe 6 or 8 show run showing what led up to Richie and Amber meeting and planning the killings of Scream 5. Or a prequel to Scream 1. I did enjoy the first 2 seasons of Scream the TV show. You get a longer "movie" through TV and you had 1 person killer per 50 minute episode.

I think it was a pretty good show, S3 is better than 1 and 2 imo
I think Scream Resurrection had Potential if it was renewed for a second season, but I still like it

I think it's a really interesting idea! Love the concept of a Kirby show. I also love what the Dead by Daylight writers did for the Ghostface lore in that specific universe. It was a smart move to write something inspired by the Gainesville Ripper, and I think that could pretty much be a fun concept to expand the films universe. I personally liked Scream MTV too, but it lacked a lot when it came to a smart, cheeky storywriting. It would've definitely benefited from better screenwriters... However, I'd be happier if they made small, limited seasons instead of long series, so we are not left with a cliffhanger (again) if the show ends up being cancelled.

TV series about Maureen would be interesting for me, expand on her hollywood years, leaving/returning to woodsboro the fallout, meeting Cotton, add Roman showing his film to Billy into the mix finish at the point where Maureen dies - might not work but if done right has potential to be really good.

I think this could work if it worked sort of like AHS seasons. Each season is focused on different core characters stories each season. And then maybe after season 3 with maybe a new character that’s somehow related to Sidney’s story they make a scream 8 that includes all these characters in a storyline together.
Including sam, tara, chad, and mindy.
Legacy four: Sidney, gale, kirby, Mark Kincaid.
Martha meeks and joel martin.
Scream trying to get in there with the streaming shows. I would love for that.

Now that i think about it more and more, i really wish they would've gone this route with scream 5 & 6. If both movies were made into two seasons of a scream tv show, we would've gotten sooo much more out of the characters and the stories itself. But if they do come out with a tv show I'm hoping it is a different story with different characters that exist in the same universe as the scream movies. Maybe some references here and there about sam and sidney's stories but no involvement there.
If they go cult route, they could easily do a tv series on that.
My thoughts have always been a new TV Series of a Prequel to Scream 1996 with a younger Sid, Tatum, Stu, Randy and Billy all at school together before the affair of Hank and Maureen. Sid's life with her parents and that dynamic could start the series and goes through the psyche of Billy and Stu after learning of affair, the affair being played out and leading up to and including the killing of Maureen Prescott. Even Maureens backstory as a through back episode and what happened to her in Hollywood would be cool.

Over saturation in a franchise can be the souring of an IP.
Sequels work when you can expand the plot.

Trynna make a series set around kirby would he a huge mistake. What they did with her character in 6 wad awful and really unbelievable, so a series based around that premise would be a travesty.

6:26 The thing is, at least to me, the franchise has been stale since Scre4m. There's only so much you can do before you have to either do something completely different or end it permanently.

Spyglass seem desperate just observing how they’ve been acting recently with the Melissa Barrera controversy.
They had 2 mediation meetings with her and it went bad the first one from the reports they argued with her after she stood her ground after they fired her and had a term for her which is unknown then the second one Paramount wanted her back, I am guessing with the reports Neve supported her coming on board as well cast like Jenna and Mason but of course that mediation never amounted to anything maybe they had another maybe she just rejected due to her being hurt due to her firing and labelling by them as anti Semite we will never know. But it seems like Melissa turned it down respectfully for whatever reason maybe her own opinion.
She then says she will gladly return to Scream and SAM story isn’t over then only 3 days later they made Neve and Kevin unofficial announce their involvement due to the uproar and commotion Melissa statement received as people wanted SAM back and supported Spyglass selling the IP and caused more uproar.
Spyglass makes Neve and Kevin do their announcements while not doing it on any official social media platform of their own or anyone saying anything hiding behind their decision and letting Neve and Kevin take the forefront of the backlash.
Then again we have this leak where they seemed to have intentionally leaked it to cause more positive fan reactions due to the fandom being completely divided.
This is probably why like you said they seem petty to announce they have so much in the pipeline and the IP not dead.
I think these plans sound promising and but I my own personal opinion want Spyglass to make amends with Melissa Barrera since this controversy is never going to vanish I personally want Scream 8 to be what Scream 7 could have been I think with time passing and this issue not going away especially with the director saying they got exited from 7.
I think Scream 8 we should get the core 4, Sidney, Mark Gale and Kirby along with the new survivors of 7 do the segments have maybe a wedding or something who knows but have SAM and Sidney stories merged together have us see Christina Carpenter , Mr Carpenter and Leslie Macher have us investigating 1996 finding out a secret about Billy affair maybe he knew about Sam and wanted to get rid of Sidney for her add it to his motivations have Sidney know all the secrets but repress it due to her trauma have Billy and her relationship have depth maybe Billy loved Sidney more and confided in her with more personal information wanting to bond over their mothers while Christina was more for short term shallow support. So Christina dates Mr Carpenter but doesn’t really love him like Billy dynamic with Christina is of course Billy slowly starts to resent Sidney more and more seeing her mother in her and constantly getting tired of her grief and her sympathising Maureen have Christina in his ear then revealing Sam pregnancy which is when Billy wants to stay with her so Sam can have he parents together due his trauma with his parents separation and mother abandonment Christina knew the plans but never exposed it for Sam. Now seeing Sidney happy ending along with Sam furthermore causing more issues maybe she snaps and starts to play mind games slowly pushing Sam over the edge throughout the whole movie. 🎥 I think what would cause Sam investigation is maybe Tara father gets involved wants to make amends with Tara and this causes Sam to want to learn more about her history maybe Tara has another step sibling.
Have Leslie Macher being manipulated by Christina and her grief which Leslie runs a cult for her brother Stu which attacks them something in depth while Mr Carpenter could be a red herring or a secret ghost face in 5 and 6 who knows?
I think many people would want to at least see SAM trilogy conclude on screen and see the original vision of 7 play out someday.
I hope with Spyglass being seemingly desperate and Melissa still wanting to play Sam again one day they can meditate.
I hated the MTV Scream tv series. Mainly because I just found the main story to be lacking so much in something and the characters were just dull and boring. Also more importantly Ghostface never featured in the MTV series, only another completely different looking version of it. I'm all for having lots more movies in the franchise in the future but definitely not another tv series unless its much better than MTVs one. It shouldn't have even being called Scream when Ghostface was never featured in it.

If they brought back a Scream related show, first we need an ending to the original, instead of being left hanging. Also I want Kirby in the movies where she belongs. She deserves more and to be a bigger part of the story now. She belongs next to Sidney and Gale as an Og survivor.

The Scream franchise has already gotten stale.
We haven’t had a really good Scream movie since Scream 2 from 1997.
Scream 3 was okay but not as good as the first two, and Scream 4, 5 and 6 have been let downs.
And the Scream TV series was awful.
