Following on from the Westworld scoring competition last year Spitfire Audio are once again giving us all the opportunity to have another go. This year it's Stargirl which was a series I watched when it came out a was great fun. So while I'd rather no one knew about it so I get a better chance of winning the Spitfire EVERYTHING drive, I guess that's a little selfish. So here are the details and also some hints and tips videos you can watch to get set up in Cubase. Hope you enjoy taking part and please post links to your music in the comments. I love hearing what other people come up with.

It takes a lot of time to pull these videos together and I am not funded in any way on this channel but rest assured I’ll upload lots of other helpful hints that I’ve learned along the way. Remember I’m just a home studio user trying to pass on information so don’t feel compelled to subscribe to the channel if your inbox is already bulging.

Thank you once again Darren - Kind words for the 11,995 who won’t win but will have the chance to be creative with a purpose👍 Now I must go and study your videos on scoring and who knows?🤣🤣

No problem - it's not for everyone but I found it a rewarding experience last time so I'm definitely going to give it another go.

Hi Moonshare. You've already put a comment on my entry. I've listened to many entries myself and have noticed lots of excellent comments by you for other entries. I'm just stopping by to show appreciation at the effort you have put in to these comments. I've left many comments myself, but feel yours are generally, in a higher league than my own. Good for you and your generous nature!

Thank you so much for that. I deliberately avoided watching anyone's entry until I got mine in. I was itching to listen to Pinar's walkthrough too but again left it. But after I wanted to hear what people were doing, especially those that hadn't had a lot of views. (The people with 20k subscribers can look after themselves.) I think it is nice to get some genuine feedback rather than a stock cut n paste phrase obviously so generic the commenter may not even have bothered to listen to the end. I always listen to the whole piece. If I have time I will be doing a compilation of some of my faves prior to the official announcement. Anyway I wish you all the best. Thanks for stopping by.

@@MoonhareStudio Like you, I didn't listen to anything prior (not even referencing the actual series) to doing my rescore. I prefer to just flow with my response to the visuals/what comes out, rather than attempt to emulate what was done by someone else. Without meaning to sound pompous, at this stage in my life, I'm more interested in tapping into my own 'artistry' than gearing what I do, in an attempt to win anything - it seems to me to be a lottery anyhow. (I originally entered the Westworld competition, and - like many - I know my work wasn't even listened to!) Your comments on each piece certainly confirm you have listened to the whole works, as you pick up on many pertinate areas and explain yourself well. Best wishes to you as well. 👍👍

No you can use any DAW you choose but as Spitfire never cover any Cubase stuff because they all use Logic I thought it would be good to have some advice for those without access to that particular DAW.
