That is the 5 million dollar question; you either have everything that can be changed in advance, or acknowledge that there was a creation event AFTER the 6 days, or Nature did it, which means that "nature" could have done it all along.
20:53 the way you describe the animals deciding to (apparently) *consciously* adjust their genotypic expression to achieve specific phenotypic results, makes it sound just as absurd it really is. 😂
Apart from all the flood related stuff. Listening to all the details about the creatures. You actually make a pretty good case for specific and special creation
As always, I'm in awe of your patience with this kind of nonsense, and I appreciate your wading through it all for those of us who lack that patience. FWIW, in my book, someone whose curiosity about a scientific topic doesn't reach far enough to even read the Wikipedia page on that topic is someone with no interest in science whatsoever.
Hi Joel. Video was interesting....as usual....but more importantly , congrats on your heart treatment. Hopefully it sorts you out long term. I'm glad (though not surprised 😃)you chose to go with modern science-based medicine rather than waiting for your body's supposed CET system to catch up with what was happening and "choose" to better adapt your heart . Wishing you good health for the future.
Thanks. Ha, yes, why didn't my heart simply sense my environment and realize it needs to beat better:-) I guess it was all those mutations that messed things up.
Honestly, it's the black and white framing that keeps this controversy going. The premise, "impersonal 'luck'," frames everything in this false dichotomy of "God's method of creation" (the literal young earth interpretation), and "Not God's method of creation," (any other view). Because of the presentation, nobody can even wonder: What if God used a different method? Could he use 'luck' (would it even be luck, from his view)? Could God have set up the whole system to use 'luck' to create? Was literal science the focus of the Biblical authors? This kind of framing always begins as if there are no questions leading up to it, or that they are already completely answered.
You remember the 1976 hit? "When I wake up / in the post fall light / I turn on my genes and I feel all right / I turn vulture genes on / I turn my vulture genes on..." (I see myself out now... my only excuse: I was 15 back then! XD)
Well, I would maybe have been old enough to remember but I never listened to anything other than classical or hymns prior to going to college so unless it was a big hit that was played later I don't know a lot of those songs.
@@DrJoelDuff Actually, it wasn't "genes", but "Jeans", and not "vulture genes", but "old blue jeans" (as I said: I see myself out...) - But it was really "the" summer hit in 1977 - if you'd like to have a whiff of these naughty times, go to youtube: David Dundas, "Jeans on" (kind of an index fossil of the 70ies) and have fun! I love your content, btw!!
Yep, we do have sensors and I certainly did notice. Just wish I had some internal biology switch that would have automatically adjusted my heart without having to poke holes in my groin and burn of a piece of m heart to fix it:-)
What troubles me most is the idea that God planned all along to destroy everything with a flood. It implies that creation wasn't just about life, but also about death from the very beginning.
Dr. Duff, please do a response video on the lastest Discovery Science UA-cam; it's titled, "Origin of Llife: Recycling and Repair". Thanks. 1 John 4:10,11
I'll check that out. I do have an origin of life topic I need to address soon. I sit on a PhD committee of a student who does OOL research and so I want to talk about what I've learned from her but I'll see if I can wrap this in somehow.
it would fix a lot of they accepted death before the fall and that the only reason humans lived longer was from eating from the tree of life. if it's God's world, then God had always planned on carnivores. But i was raised Mormon and a core tenant was that the fall was part of God's plan and that the end result wasn't decay but perfection. I like that. I no longer believe in a God but I still like the idea of striving for perfection. Like, as best as we can. The world should be a little better with every generation.

I’m glad you’re feeling much better Dr Duff. Look after yourself!
Heart has been awesome. Recovery down there is quite a bit slower but making progress.
Wait, how was I not subscribed to your channel?? Bizarre. Fixed that now
Thanks and welcome!

Its hard for me to understand the lack of curiosity. They learn just enough to say what they want to say.
@@DrJoelDuff Agreed. Very sad.
Is ICR’s continuous environmental tracking just a reimagining of Lamarckism?
Yeah it's pretty heavily reworked but to the extent they have fleshed it out yeah I think that's where the roots are.
Denis Noble is in the news these days with a secular ID like view of evolution.

What would Ham do without false dichotomies. He would be out of business.
Wow: a heart op. I would not have guessed. Take good care, dr. Duff.

So Joel could detect his heart problem and self adjust his heart beat?

But vultures were created by Ahriman, not Ahura Mazda.
