Your cat in the car warmed my heart. My cat screams bloody murder when he is in the car I don’t even want to think about how horrible of a trip that would be for me lmao
Haha, same!! He first screams bloody murder and then he pants as if he will die at any moment!! He also pees himself and gives himself a manicure (aka flying broken nails everywhere)... The longest ride he ever had was 1,5 hour, I thought we'd both die... 😥
Im very glad she does well. I took her on car trips weekly since she was a kitten to prepare, so hopefully that helped with her acting so well. I have had cats in the past who were just howling ALL THE TIME.
And where do you put the litter box...tee hee!!!! Smart guy....plant dude....practicing that car ride.... cats are such great companions and less work than a dog
Congratulations on your smooth move, I'm glad it went well in spite of how exhausted you must have felt. I'm happy you all made it safe and sound. Best wishes to you in your new home, buddy. 🙂
Watching this while I pack up all my plants to move home for the Summer from college 😬 I've been anxious about damaging them all on the drive but this calmed my nerves!
Lol I love that all greenhouse folks just default to moving plants in those exact black bulb crates. That was also how I moved plants to and from college, they're awesome!
I can relate to the cross country move... I moved from San Francisco Bay Area to Michigan... No plants as we were afraid of inspection site in Arizona. We did a caravan of three vehicles and two uhaul. I drove with my son, his toad, his parakeet, and our old Springer Spaniel Bridget.. This was 35 years ago... We traveled through Tucumcari. I loved the purple and red rocks.
I'm glad you decided to post the video! I usually enjoy more plant centric content but I found this entertaining and interesting. Hope you have more videos coming soon!
What a drive!! Can’t believe your kitten likes riding in a car! Welcome to Arizona 🌵 lived here all my life, it’s great! Your video is pretty fantastic, love the scenic parts!
My wife and I moved across country. In our car, we had ourselves, 50 plants, two gold fish, and a cat in heat. all in a 74 Chevy impala with no air conditioning in August. The gold fish were ceremoniously tossed into the dumpster behind the hotel in Iowa.
WE moved just from California to Idaho , with 3 mukes and a horse, dog, 3 kittes and several birds. And they the few house plants some I had had for years. 25 hour trip and a break down in Fallon Nevada. I ha to build fence for the mules and horse when we got there and I spent the night up with them the night we arrived. About 3rd day no sleep. I also moved lots of yard plants. All went well. We set up in a field in a camper/motor home. Roped the camper and some hay and stock truck to a power pole and hubby left me for 4 days. We had no house. WE were building our own little log house. Was such an adventure. Glad you made it safely and your fur babies travel well.
@@KnotDude Hahahaha Re-Reading what I wrote MUKES should have been Mules. And yes it was a great adventure living the American dream Moving to the mountains building a little log house on the river yada yada yada. We really used life up.Nice to look back on. OK Back to making more moss poles.
What a beautiful video! I especially loved the scenery shots you took! All the lightening and the rainbow, the countryside! Stunning videography! Bravo! 👏👏👍👍
Yah! LOL to your kids! They are soooooo adorbs! Welcome to AZ! I did not know that you transplanted so recently. I hope you find good people there to be friends with & make you smile! Peace & Chicken Grease!
I would be super interested in hearing tips for tropical plant keepers in Arizona, I’m super worried all my calatheas are going to die. I have one humidifier my apartment is going to have a west facing window eeeek. Thinking about investing in one of those IKEA greenhouses
Epic journey. For people with 100 plus plants definitely need to see this. Glad you and your collection made it safe and sound. Love the Raven , such a looker!!
Well done getting it done without any casualties! I'm mightily impressed at how well Patches travels! My cats never, ever travelled well, even those who made weekly trips to the country... Incessant meowing all the way... Drove me nuts!!! 🙄
Oh my goodness! Speaking of lifesavers.........YOU are MY lifesaver! I’ve been searching for over a week for some good info on moving with my plants. I’ll be driving with my cat as well so that was an unexpected and welcome bonus to be able to see how you handled the pets. We’re going from New England to Arizona in a couple of weeks. I’m stressing out but finding your video has helped. Many thanks for sharing!
You’re such a great plant dad. This is ALL great info. We moved my parents from Chicago to AZ last April - luckily she didn’t have many plants so it was fairly easy, but I feel you on the pets! Pets are way harder to travel with than kids. (I think that clip of patches sleeping on the sling made us all smile 😃) congrats on the move! Loved watching your journey on IG. 🌵🌵🌵
Omg! I just did that. NJ to CA in 2 days almost none stop in a minivan. 85 orchids + 2 dogs. But the cherry on top was California border state inspection 🤦♀️. They inspected the plants for bugs. I wasn’t sure if I would have to dump all the plants to enter California. We made it through!
Thank you for this video! I feel fortunate that I moved when my plant collection was still pretty small - I'll have to remember your tips for next time!
THANK YOU so much for posting this! It was wonderful. I've missed your content so much! I'm glad you're all moved and settled. Can't wait for more content from you :) #1 plant dude
I'm a newbie who just started collecting plants that are pet friendly due to I have 2 cats. I purchased 2 different spider plants, Ponytail palm, Raven ZZ, a peacock plant, Apple blossom begonias, Lithops, the variegated string of hearts, Peperomia Watermelon, succulents, and air plants. My friend Jennifer got me hooked on plants😂.
I'm so glad you posted this video. I'm planning a move in April of next year and I'm already stressing moving a ridiculous amount of plants. You managed to alleviate some of my fear. Thanks for that. Much love and many blessings.
A little late to comment since this is an older video, but thank you for the tips. I have to move 350 plants over almost 200 miles so I keep looking for ideas. The crates are great - I can take some from the corner supermarket, they bring fruit in them and I see them stacked in the back all the time. Great job and great video!
This is great! We use those boxes at work to bring plants and other materials to off-site locations like seminars and events. Great tips and THE BEST travel companion is Patches! My big congrats that you've made it!!! Alone with pets and flowers - you are a hero!!! I've moved from the north to the south of a country. Thank you that you've shared with us)! Im happy for you, your pets and plants!)
Thanks for posting, I’m getting ready to move cross country with plants and was tempted to give my plants up but after hearing your plants made it I’m going to take them with us!
Hi Adam! I'm so glad you posted this video with your precious fur babies! 🐾 😼 They're both so cute! I'm glad they liked riding in the car and get along so well. Good job moving all of your plants and you, too! I hope you're all settled and loving your new home. Have you adjusted to the heat? Thank you for sharing!
WOW!! Nice vlog..I enjoyed that, that was really nice your pets was so good on their best behavior so chilled..you might n not be a professional but you did that..by the way nice scenery..I'm so glad you had a safe trip thank God!!
Definitely ENJOYED your vid! Your fur babies napping together ☺️too cute! I keep a collapsible crate in my car just for plant purchases lol! They are so convenient! And if I ever move I will be using your travel tips! Thanks, pets and plants two of my favorites!🐶🐱🌿👍🏼
We will be moving cross country next year and your video gave me hope! Haha! I have re-homed all of my plants for previous moves, but I refuse to as this is our very last move. My husband retiring from the military.
I just found your channel and let me say a few things. One, you have such calm, sweet energy. Two, thank you so much for taking the time to do this video on what was already an extremely busy experience. This was so incredibly helpful. Third, your pets are so sweet and well behaved! My cat loves traveling in the car too but I'm worried about taking trips alone with her roaming the car. I always heard stories of cats getting under seats/near gas pedals etc, which I doubt is all that common, but makes me scared. Any tips you've found?
Erin! That all is so sweet of you to say! Thank you so much. Patches definitely wanted to go down near my feet and i would not allow it. I didnt want her to be near the pedals. I did block access to under the seats and the pedals. Sometimes she wanted to be in a cozy dark place so i just made a bed for her on the floor behind the passenger seat and she loved snoozing there.
Great video, so glad you all made it to Arizona!! I have such fond memories of that roadtrip, I'd love doing it again one day... Your kids are the *best* and so so cuuuute!! 💜 Looking forward to your videos from your new home, take care!! 😊
Is the Calathea in your trunk a pink gecko “bicajoux”? I tried that plant twice and it curled up and died both times... yours looks GORGEOUS! It will be so interesting to follow if you do videos on whether it’s different to care for plants in Arizona climate then in the mid western climate.
Thanks for the informative video!!!! I'm planning on moving from Michigan to the Phoenix area in 2 years and I have some huge plants....a few of them are over 6 ft.....I would love some information on how to prepare and pack them for that long drive. Thanks in advance.
Excellent video! We were in Phoenix about a month ago and it is beautiful, but way too hot. I live in Chicago and love the cooler weather. Hope you, your pets and plants have settled!
Awesome video, and you had great company on your trip. Great tips for moving plants in the summer. I've been in the same house for over 35 years, but someday... I hope you're enjoying AZ; you're officially a Zonie to most Californians in the Southland. Btw, I got a variegated Amydrium Zippelanium after seeing Nick (from Philly) unbox his A.Z. It's really cool, and the mother plant is huge! Peace, Be.
I had a cat Sammy that also was a calico that traveled with me! Our air conditioning broke and I snuck her into a very tall Excalibur in Vegas many years ago.
Great video. Your editing is on point and I find you an inspiration. Glad you and your family made it safe and sound. 😊 I will have two fingers of bourbon to celebrate your successful journey (since you didn't have one in this video!) 😊
Thank you so much for this video. I will be moving from Phx,Az to Seattle next yr and of course concerned about my plants and transporting. This video is giving me a guide for planning 😊
So happy you made it to your new home, I hope everything is well and you're getting settled, for now all we neeeeeeeeed a plant tour :D Please daddy ;)
Umm...forget the plants; Cuddy and Patches were the stars! 🙌🏼♥️ Each shot made me smile. Glad the move worked out for all living things. P.S.....any tips for that Triostar you have?? Mine is dying a slow death, which drives me nuts because all my marantae and calatheas are doing awesome. 🤔
oh bummer! i let mine dry out before watering which may or may not be a good thing. Its still doing well though. I will say MOST of it died in transition from the nursery to my home but i kept with it and it put out lots of new growth.
Who drove the u-haul? I may have missed a few videos. I have the notifications clicked, but I rarely get notified for certain people. I have Garden Answer clicked, and again, never get notified 🤷🏻♀️. Why did you move to Arizona. How are you liking Arizona? Happy Planting 💜🌺🌸
we have plans on leaving illinois to colorado eventually and im honestly not even sure if i wanna make the effort to take all my plants. but if i do, the crates are such a good idea! also we just drove to ca for vacation so seeing all the footage of the drive kinda just brought back those memories, that was nice.
seems like everyones cat has a vendetta against ponytail palms
Most Definitely lol
Your cat in the car warmed my heart. My cat screams bloody murder when he is in the car I don’t even want to think about how horrible of a trip that would be for me lmao

And where do you put the litter box...tee hee!!!! Smart guy....plant dude....practicing that car ride.... cats are such great companions and less work than a dog
😂Mine too he screams bloody murder as if I am killing him while Saffy is quiet.
I can’t handle the amount of cute pet in this 😭
there were so many more clips of them just being adorable. I should have kept them in, people really seem to like the fur babes!
Glad human animal and plants alike made the trip without and calamities
me too! thank you for watching!
This is why I never want to move again, moving suck just add 1000 plants! Cute animals! 🌿
Thanks for this video, it kind of calmed my nerves about moving to college with my plants. i really liked the shots of the places you drove.
Congratulations on your smooth move, I'm glad it went well in spite of how exhausted you must have felt. I'm happy you all made it safe and sound. Best wishes to you in your new home, buddy. 🙂

This is the video Ive been waiting for!! I'm moving to Cali next year from Ohio, & I want to bring about 15 plants cross country as well!
Love ❤️ your kindness to pets and plants 👍🙏❤️💐
Omg you fanned your plants to give them air after driving all day ahhh you are the CUTEST
Watching this while I pack up all my plants to move home for the Summer from college 😬 I've been anxious about damaging them all on the drive but this calmed my nerves!

Congrats on the move, I love AZ. So many places to see and close to other states for quick trips. Plus, how about the blue sky, is it not gorgeous!
Its so pretty here in the Southwest. Im excited for this new chapter! Thank you!
I'm moving in 2 days. Glad to see this video of you moving plants.

I loved the drive! Done it many times between KS and home! Lol so bad, I knew where you were pretty much in every shot!! Lol love it!

I do hope that both of my cats will love my golden retriever as much your cat and dog love each other😻.
Those pets are PERFECT! 💙 Good job doing all of that on your own!! 👏🏻👏🏻
Totally agree - what sweet and well-behaved pets in a car!! Wow. And congrats on such a long move with them. I applaud you!
Omg Im so glad I found this video I’m moving from California to Tempe Arizona in less than a month. Makes me feel so much relief

Aww, seeing your cat and dog snuggled up together in the car almost put a crack in my stone cold heart! Brilliant video. Hope you love your new home.
They were adorable together, it warmed my heart too! lol

Nicole! Pets are harder then kids huh? Phew it was just three days and I was exhausted from the fur babes but they were very well behaved.
Omgosh, ur fur babies are gorgeous, and u are such a great person to pay_it_forward in such a lovely and no fuss way. Great vid, keep it up
Thank you!!
I love that the uhaul next to you has a Venus Flytrap on it!
That was a GREAT video...I can't imagine what you weren't happy with!!!
I guess we all can be overly critical of ourselves. Thank you so much for watching!
Proceeds to binge watch all of Knot Dudes videos 🥰🥰🥰 this is so cute seeing you travel with your fur babies and plant babies! 💚💚💚

Thats great to hear and good luck with the move! All will go well!
Congratulations on the move! I'm glad everything and everyone made it safely!
Thank you and me too!
A little late to comment since this is an older video, but thank you for the tips. I have to move 350 plants over almost 200 miles so I keep looking for ideas. The crates are great - I can take some from the corner supermarket, they bring fruit in them and I see them stacked in the back all the time. Great job and great video!
Good luck on your move!!
Amazing footage! I loved your landscape edits! Amazing!!
This is great! We use those boxes at work to bring plants and other materials to off-site locations like seminars and events. Great tips and THE BEST travel companion is Patches! For larger plants like trees and large Philodendrons/Ficus you can usually purchase paper sleeves from garden centers. They prevent physical damage and protect from sun and cold (in winter).
Gretchen! Your the best! The paper sleeves are a wonderful idea! I do think some leaves got burned from the sun even though my windows were tinted.
Enjoyed your video, great job with the move and your pets are soo adorable. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you Kathy! They are cuties for sure!
that was a GREAT video! nice footage of the road trip; the lightning ⚡️and dust devil🌪 shots were awesome😃👍🏽
Thanks Ricky!
My big congrats that you've made it!!! Alone with pets and flowers - you are a hero!!!

Later my plants traveled with me on a train to my new place, it was easier than i thought - 2 plastic big bags with light plastic containers inside, only most favorite plants. These crates are the most suitable for moving plants. They may be found at vegetable stores also.
The video is cool with these landscapes, animals and trip! Thank you that you've shared with us)! Im happy for you, your pets and plants!)
Thank you for watching. Vegetable stands are an AMAZING idea on finding the crates. Thanks so much for that tip!
Awe the cat and the dog together in your car. SO ADORABLE!

Good job moving all of your plants and you, too! I hope you're all settled and loving your new home. Have you adjusted to the heat? Thank you for sharing!
SLOWLY adjusting to the heat lol. Its way hotter than expected but i think I will love it in the fall/winter for sure!

My two favorite things too! I should keep one in my car like you suggested, that is a great idea!
We will be moving cross country next year and your video gave me hope! Haha! I have re-homed all of my plants for previous moves, but I refuse to as this is our very last move. My husband retiring from the military.

Thank you so much Allison!
Loved this video! So cosy and your animals made it! 💚😘
Thank you so much! They were such good riders!
Excellent video! We were in Phoenix about a month ago and it is beautiful, but way too hot. I live in Chicago and love the cooler weather. Hope you, your pets and plants have settled!
Thank you Laura! We have all settled pretty well so far!
Loved this video! Congratulations on zero casualties ! 🌱💚
Thank you Melanie!
Wow! Your kitty likes the car! So sweet :)
Awesome video, and you had great company on your trip. Great tips for moving plants in the summer. I've been in the same house for over 35 years, but someday... Awesome! Let me know if you need some crates!
Vlog and whole trip was Great!🙌🏻
Thank you!
I really enjoyed your video. Got some ideas for when I move. Glad you decided to show it.
Thank you George!
Congrats on the move!! & 0 casualties!! 🎉💚🤗
ahhh thank you! What a journey!
I empathize with you. Your are a courageous young man. Keep safe.
Thanks!
OMG is there such a thing as Future Deja'vu? Because this is 100% gonna be me when I move to Montana from Cali in January! Cat and everyything
I wish my cats travelled that well. Mine like to hang out by my feet when I drive. Glad your plants made it! And you as well!!
xoxo Cats handing by the pedals really scares me. Patches wanted to go down by my feet but I forbode it. lol
@@KnotDude that would be terrifying. Three cats is too much for me and I always kennel them lol
Good job. Have a safe trip. Take care.
Thank you!
So happy you made it to your new home, I hope everything is well and you're getting settled, for now all we neeeeeeeeed a plant tour :D Please daddy ;)
soon!
Umm...forget the plants; Cuddy and Patches were the stars! 🙌🏼♥️ Each shot made me smile. Glad the move worked out for all living things.

oh bummer! i let mine dry out before watering which may or may not be a good thing.
Arizona is nice. I needed a change of pace.
Love your kids!!!! Hope you're enjoying Arizonia. 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Thank you! Its been great so far!
Yes! so excited for this video. Your cat is so cute!
Thanks Avery! Patches is honestly a star lol So glad she found me!
You and Mike V. should make a roadtrip to Cali sometime to check out some local nurseries and the botanic gardens.
Definitely want to check out the nurseries in Cali! Hopefully soon!
we have plans on leaving illinois to colorado eventually and im honestly not even sure if i wanna make the effort to take all my plants. but if i do, the crates are such a good idea! also we just drove to ca for vacation so seeing all the footage of the drive kinda just brought back those memories, that was nice.
Well if it wont stress you out too much, bring the plants! It was easier than i was expecting, but also more stressful in the prep. I love Colorado!
