I really liked how clear the tutorial was and that he gave easy to understand instructions on how and why to set everything up. I don't know why I love instruction videos even for things I'll never be using, well I do, I'm a why? person, never grew out of it. I also liked how as he explained things he stayed right on point only deviating to point out important features like the cut off system. Thanks Nick and Craig.
Great vid Nick & Craig. This addressed virtually all of my problems with the setup of my own BS400, It is most appreciated.
Craig, thank you for taking time to break away from your busy work schedule to schedule this band saw maintenance program with Nick. Nick, thank you for posting this informative video show. Very much appreciated.....! May you and your loved ones have a great safe day...!
As the owner of a BS350s I found this very useful. he pointed out a few bits I had no idea about which will hopefully help get my curve cutting blades running true.
Good informative video on bandsaw setup. Should help anyone as most bandsaws work on this principle. Cheers Nick and Craig
Hi Nick, This is a TOP CLASS video. I have just purchased a Record BS300e and even after reading the instruction manual and Watching the Record DVD Master Class that came as part of the package I was having difficulty getting the Machine setup correctly. Luckily I found your UA-cam presentation which I followed as near as possible and I now have my Bandsaw running perfectly. The one part I had trouble with though was setting the lower guide bearings due to the protective blade guard obstructing the view of the blade guides. To ensure I was clearing the gullet of the blade it was necessary to remove the protective plastic guard which was a nightmare on the BS300. I might do a short video to show the best method of removing and replacing this item because without it is impossible to set the side blade guides.
Again it was only thanks to your video otherwise I wouldn't have got my saw setup properly.
Regards
Fred from UK
That was fascinating! What a master of his machines! You can tell he really loves his work and loves his machines. I think I understood most of it, which kudos to him for being so articulate. Thank you Nick for showing that to us. Slower speed for the resins! Now I’m waffling..❤️👍love you, thanks for all of your videos, I love your work, I never know what to expect, which is half the fun.
.As they say in the U.S….ROCK ON! 🤘🤓👏
Good old Craig and good old China! I have watched other vids on changing blades and they have said its important to keep the teeth just in front of the guide bushings.😅
That was the best video I ever seen I need to get a better band saw and I now have a better understanding of what I need to get. Thank you Nick and Craig
Hi Nick, thanks for the video on the set up for this Bandsaw, I have the same machine, it’s running a lot better now that I have reset everything, it’s surprising how much better a few adjustments make, so thanks for that. Also I do know John Davis, and have been down to his shop,it’s a shame he has had close down, he’s a nice bloke. So keep up the good work, and keep on waffling!!!! (-: 👍. Roger and out☠️
Very informative, don't own a band saw but I still like learning about this stuff! Thanks Craig and Nick!
thanks buddy
Very good, one of the best I have seen on the 400 machine.
Nice one Nick and Craig!
At last I can understand how to fix my little Startrite up!!
Cheers guys!
👍👍🍺🍺
That is an excellent video, One of the best I have seen as it gives far more detail that new owners will need. I have the same machine and it is superb. I have also used the 1/8" blade with the Carter Stabilizer which is ideal for the smaller blades. Well done guys. Malcolm (UK) INteresting to see just before you took off the 1/2" blade, the tension meter was well above the norm. Also, if anyone does remove the top wheel ( I never have in 4 years) remember to mark the position, otherwise the balancing weights will not be correct, if put back on in another position which is important. I would suggest the wheels are not removed.
Hi nick thanks for the video I spotted at least 2 things I was doing wrong on my bandsaw. Also a good bit of knowledge on how blades perform really useful.
Bought a 350 sabre from craig 2 weeks ago in stavanger. Awesome guy, great bandsaw. And nick, you’re kind of awesome to ;-)
Now that guy knowns his stuff when it comes to those saw's! Nice vid
Very informative video! Thanks Craig! Thanks Nick!

haha great stuff buddy. I'm glad it was useful mate. take care pal
Thank you very much for that great instruction on the bandsaw it was so interesting.
Brilliant, thank you both.
Damn handy to know, about time I learnt how to set up my BS350 properly
Thanks for sharing this record show.
Almost setup informations are available for all the band saw setup. And that is good ! 🙏
Thanks craig, Thanks Nick ! 👍
thanks for that video. very good information learned a lot I didn't know. thanks and keep up the good videos
Great information Nick, thanks for posting! ATB Shaun
Thanks Craig, really a quite thorough run through. Only suggestion might be a safety cut-off on the table blade gard at the front of the table slot. that bit is a safety feature after all. I love that this machine has a step down pulley, but why not a rheostat speed control for more versatility? Thanks Nick for having Craig in to show us the intricacies of your band saw.
Excellent video, well done and thanks
Very good video... thank you both!
another good video my bro good job 😀
Hi Nick, That was interesting and I assume will be similar on a small bench top one. ?
Thank you for the useful video!
Very informative THANKS
Great video Nick, I've had the BS400 for over four years and am still very pleased with the way it performs. Learnt a few tips from this. Thanks for posting.
Cheers
Mike
Thanks Mike. Craig is a great bloke and drove all the way form Sheffield to do this. haha I thought I would film him .lol take care mate

Afshin
Fascinating
Some good info there like it
Although I don't have this machine I can use quite a lot of the information and transfer it too my little old benchtop model. Cheers.
Tolles Video 👍 👍
I've only used a band saw once and doubt I'll ever get one, but this was interesting. And if someone ever needs my help with their band saw; I'll know where to turn. 😀
Hey colleen, hope all is well. haha glad you liked it all the best . don't forget Kanas if you can make it .
He sounds like Sean Bean. 👍👍👍
Hey Nick, is Craig a Scottish fella? I really do like his accent!
...nice video by the way! love your youtube videos alot! keep up the good work mate! appreciate it very much!
cheers bro.
Craig has a South Yorkshire accent. Sheffield sounds like
Fascinating! He was very knowledgeable and now we all are too!
Hi Nick mate, were you stood in that hole again?
I`m guessing you will get another two band saws now!? one with a wider blade, and one with the belt set to a slower speed, because going on the amount of chucks you own, you wont wanna keep changing the blade or speed on that one lol
Just joshing mate :)
lol.
I hope he didn't get distracted from replacing the blade guides that are under the table.... nice video though Nick
Record Power are very good products
Nice!
sure is nicer than my little table top
he's your twin brother isn't he !!!!!!
lol
13:19 0.o lmao
Good saw but a real bastard to set the guides. DONT track the blade in the centre of the wheel, that's a common misconception put out by manufacturers, because the wheel is crowned, you want the rear of the gullet of the blade to be central on the wheel, that way the tension is on the front cutting edge of the blade instead of in its centre - do it that way and you will never get drift
You actually paid for a bloke to come change your blade??
na. he did it for free! well a cup of tea and a biscuit...
