I'm undecided between this saw & the new Sabre 300, as both have advantages & disadvantages.
The 350 has deeper throat & bearing blade guides, whilst the 300 has better dust extraction & a micro-adjustable fence.
Hopefully going to look at both tomorrow.

The weight is wrong. The machine weighs 116 kg fully assembled. Without the box, table, fence and various small parts, it weighs approx. 85kg. There are 2 videos on the "Berndwerk" channel. One has the exact weights and the other the exact dimensions, also available as a PDF for download.

Thanks for the feedback - you’re right. UA-cam had placed five ads in the video. I agree that's too many. I took out all but two of them.

When you adjust the wheels in the blade guide, use a piece of paper between the band and the wheel as a distance holder. When it will go through soft, it's ok.
Adjusting the tilt of the upper wheel: Look, that the band is NOT in the middle of the wheel, the middle of the area BEHIND the teeth should be on the middle of the wheel. It makes no sense to tension the teeth. Only the band behind the teeth.
Have fun with your new girlfriend :-))

    Tolles Video!
Not having a bolt in your pocket before initially securing the table was a rookie (honest) mistake! At least you didn't try to balance the top, fetch the bolts, drop it, swear (if that's possible) etc.
Good to see that you classified this as an advert. I see this as buying at the best price but being honest with your appraisal. Full marks for the internet's best and informative review of this machine.
For alignment the straight edge needs a straight edge on the blade - you could cut a notch in your Bosch rail (probably not) or put a spacer between the rail and the blade (with a notch) to clear the kerf or (best) you could use a bandsaw buddy - an alignment tool with cobalt magnets that clips on the blade. It acts like a compass and shows up alignment problems.
You could align the table with with the blade... or align the blade to the table using the crown of the wheels to determine the alignment. If the fence is aligned with the mitre slot that's aligned with the blade then you will have removed most of your future bandsaw frustrations...
The supplied blade already runs well on the top wheel but usually you adjust the position on the crown with the guides out of the way and then set the guides. If you're lucky, all your blades will sit without too much adjustment. The tension of the blade probably affects where the blade sits and when're it sits changes the alignment relative to the mitre slot. Does the tension meter measure blade tension or blade position e.g. with two blades and one more tooth (extra length) is the tension the same or different?
It would be good to have a 10 months on - what I learned and did next update (like the Bosch table saw video). Did you also get a mitre fence too.... was it easy to use or a waste of money or did you make your own sled/mitre?

Thank you for a well- structured and balanced presentation of your experiences and impressions of your bandsaw. I hope to buy my first bandsaw soon, with no experience of ever using one. I am finding that of all the different types of woodworking machines I have researched before buying, the bandsaw is taking the most time. There is so much to learn about what makes a quality machine, especially the ease with which they can be set up. Your video has helped very much.

I’m glad to hear it. I find the Sabre to be a very good bandsaw even though I have to say that I’m still far from mastering it in terms of setup and accuracy.

Hi Robert, I’m still pleased with the saw. Sturdy, functional, accurate. I haven’t been able to use it as much as I would have liked since I’ve been very busy with work and family since I’ve bought it. And I feel I’ve yet some things to learn in terms of using a bandsaw properly. But yes, I still think it’s an excellent saw

Moin Andreas !
