i love the olympic lifts because theyre so explosive yet theyre the biggest confidence crushers out there, props to those who have stuck with them from the start, if i could go back i sure and do that i sure as hell would
anyone can look official and act like they know what they are doing, doesn't mean they do, though, this is def a starting point, but if you want oly lifts look for oly lifter,ex. Kendrick farris, burgener, chinese, have excellent instruct vid out there also.
Nice technique, in this video the demonstrator held his breath for the whole movement until letting go of the weight at the end. It is important to breathe through the motions. In from the ground to your shoulders, and out from your shoulders to the Jerk. Thanks for posting.
There is a clip of Pyrros Dimas training in his later years and he just shoots the bar up from the ground immediately over head, totally skipping the middle phase.
im a powerlifter and in my latest program I've included powercleans...very very very humbling hahaha. been doing them for about a month now and still dont have the technique down.
to be an amateur weightlifter takes about 1 year, and within this year you learn proficent technique. If you concentrate just in the clean you will be proficent in less time, but not in one month.
What kind of a floor surface do you need to let the bar bounce like that? I want to get into olympic style lifting at home, but I'm not sure how my floor will hold up.
You can slam bumper plates on the floor. Still to be on the safer side, you can build a lifting platform. You'll find many videos in UA-cam on how to construct a lifting platform. And Oh, you also need Olympic barbell.
"..sir please don't throw the weights!.." Lol no; thank you for the demonstration. First one I saw without that unnatural looking squat halfway through, but maybe with more weight that becomes more important
No that would but a split jerk, a clean and jerk can end in a power squat stance or a lunge stance. But with either one after the squat or lunge you stand it up to finish the movement.
Also a push press has a very small dip and then a push off the chest into the overhead position. You do not go down into a squat on a push press. Please just go and look up both movements and see the difference for yourself.
Why didn't i watch the video yesterday? I could have caught the movement flow easier for the WOD (6 Power C&J and 6 Power Snatch alternating between exercises EMOM during 12 minutes). I already knew and had the power Clean and Jerk under control, and the full C&J, but repping them is as intense as it can get...
There's no full extension with this guys clean. A real clean, power or full clean would involve full extension onto the toes with a full shrug and your hands coming inside to keep the bar path straight & it isn't explained, but you can split your feet out sideways with the power jerk to both make it easier to get under the bar faster but also to have a more stable frame. You can see at 28 seconds he extends a little on his toes and shrugs a little with his shoulders.. but it's nowhere near full extension. You can see a tiny bit of swing to the bar too, if you look at that 28 second point, you want to curl your hands in toward yourself & this will reduce the swing & make the lifts a lot easier at heavy weight. A straighter bar path is key. Maybe think to extend on the toes quickly followed by the shrug with your hands inside at the same time, all done so fast that you could even just try practice it all as one movement. Guarantee you will notice a positive difference. But hey that's just my opinion, I'm no expert. Not trying to be negative her at all so don't jump down my throat :)

Thank you very much. The instructor in the video looks a professional and his body language and tonality suggests that he knows his stuff.

I love how he gets straight to the Point
Thanks for getting right into the tutorial! Because of that I'm following!

i m trying to learn those moves it is normal that i feel tension on the back when i pass under the bar ?? thanks
This vid was awesome, I’ll actually know what I’m doing today at the gym
Is this the same as a power clean and push jerk?
***** gotta remind em bro, it's a GYM. :) keep bangin it out
There is a clip of Pyrros Dimas training in his later years and he just shoots the bar up from the ground immediately over head, totally skipping the middle phase.
That is called a power snatch.
Power clean and power jerk
Very informative
Shouldn't you put one foot back and then go on the two feet?
That's a "split jerk". Both accomplish the same thing just 2 different ways of doing it.
Kinetic chain is kinda off in this video. No calf raise. All shrug used to clean the bar. Nonetheless, strong guy to shrug that up.

sufronausea and not in 5 months either, i still dont have them perfect yet, still working though! hahaha

+Le Ténia The weights are bumper plates..they are specialized rubber weights.

I don't know a gym that will mind me dropping the weight like that
"..sir please don't throw the weights!.."

First one I saw without that unnatural looking squat halfway through, but maybe with more weight that becomes more important
what unnatural looking squat are you referring to
Can we please stop using the term squat clean! It's either a clean or a power clean...
OMG... You're like Hulk !
انا حاسه هيكسر الأرض
That's a clean and press
No It's not! Research the difference between The Push Press and Push Jerk!
+Nick Calles ya.. It is, as you push the weight up in a clean and jerk you move your legs and you're in a split stance when the bar is overhead
Inherently the clean and jerk involves a split jerk but you can also jerk it to shoulder width stance for the legs
No that would but a split jerk, a clean and jerk can end in a power squat stance or a lunge stance. But with either one after the squat or lunge you stand it up to finish the movement.

Thanks for the Vid. good explanation, no BS. Well done!
Bang Bro, I got headphones on and I got deafened.

I do have to ask, is there a way to put it down without chokeslamming it to hell?
Looks like me
Why do you let the bar roll back onto your fingertips at the finish of the power clean then readjust before racking for the jerk?
It's so the bar rests in the clean position on the shoulders before the jerk movement.
Good Stuff & Info !!
Short and sweet!
Could you please explain the difference between clean and jerk and cluster?
The Cluster is one continuous movement including a thruster! Here's an example: ua-cam.com/video/XAZYxhQzLfo/v-deo.html
There's no full extension with this guys clean. well each one is different i guess, different body frames and somethings work better for others and so
sulkoma He does shrug a lot. If you pause at the shrug you can see that he actually does a lot otherwise he wouldn't have been able to lift it
Could you possibly get a more echo-y gym?
No split ? No explanation on importance of hip & shoulder warm up for mobility? Idk whatever.
