Poppy has always been weird, but after her song "X", she started just doing whatever genre she wants. She has a metal EP, a more punk album and a pop album all in the last 5 years. She just announced a upcoming album that should release later this year, which will probably be a full metal album looking at the two singles. For more metal Poppy, check out "Say Cheese" from her metal EP or "New Way Out" which is the other song that was recently released. Some other harder songs from Poppy: Bit your own teeth, Scary Mask, X (which was her first song that had some metal influences), Suffocate (the Knocked Loose song, she doesnt just sing pop), Spit (a cover from a older Kittie song) You could also check out "Church Outfit" which is from last year. That one is more pop. I like how you can never know what she is doing next, and usually the genre she tackles works out well.
Look into her back story with Titanic sinclair, and you will understand more clearly why she did such a dramatic switch. She has dabbled in more heavy music previously, but this is just freedom in a song. Also, Trauma causes darkness in your soul. I speak from personal experience too. It changes you to the core and when you learn to harness that darkness, these amazing, lyrically strong products are produced.
Finally a Poppyseed that talks about her trauma and also relates to it, sure there are many More but they are not vocal about it, I could not agree more with what u said, I think exactly the same

had so much fun watching! this song is actually considered "basic" compared to other metal stuff she did before. Highly recommend the Knocked Loose collab and her song "X"
@@ClarisaAguayo-m2n i'm a fan and that doesn't mean i have to pretend every track is the best thing ever created. if you listen to, say, BLOODMONEY and this back to back you'll quickly notice that there's a big difference. BLOODMONEY is way different and has obscure influences that are quite hard to pin point while this song is basically derivative of things like slipknot and other 2010s top 40 rock/metal radio hits. you getting weirdly triggered tells me you're probably one of those cringey twitter stans or perhans a baby fan. in both cases, get a life? because why tf are you sweating in yt comment replies lmfao.
For this new project she's been collaborating with Jordan Fish (formerly of BMTH), but she's been dabbling in metal since X (also check out Scary Mask w/Fever 333 and Concrete). The album "I Disagree" is very good. She really doesn't sit in just one genre (Motorbike is a recent pop banger, Say Cheese is also worth checking out for other reasons). Anyway. Great reaction!
Poppy made her transition from pop to metal through a previous EP that had a lot of mixed pop choruses with metal guitar and some screaming. It was very industrial and very unique. Her new music is more of a solidified version of the metal shes been going towards and its very interesting to look at her entire discography and see how she developed after the separation from her previous producer.
The video isn't really related to the song (in the way a music video would be). This is just a visualizer which is essentially just something to look at while the track plays and to set the vibe. I think its just stuff taken from a photo shoot essentially. Labels have been pushing for visualizers because they get better numbers.
It's definitely related to the music, if you look at Poppy's sad, controlled life until I think around 4 years ago it makes a lot of sense looking at the video & the music together. The small poppy is her inner demons trying to make her stay down & torturing her in the most simplistic way possible.
Of course it does have to do with the song, same for New way out and the interlude Hey there, they were all made by Sam Cannon, u should check her work out so u would understand better
