Thank you!! When I first started getting into houseplants I went a little crazy and had way too many 😆 I’ve pared down to large plants that work best I my space.
What a beautiful collection of houseplants! I'm partial to the calathea myself. I've found that mine do better when I water with bottled water and not tap water. Not sure why, but if that's what makes them happy that's what they get lol.
@@ChicagoGardener just using bottled water seems to work for me. I haven't even been fertilizing them because I seem to get crunchy edges when I use it lol. I also have them in a room with a south facing window, but I keep them about 8 feet back from the window.
I love Aglaonema's. I have two and they have been good to me, they are fairly easy care. My Green Papaya is gorgeous and thriving. I want to add the one you have and more to my collection.
@@ChicagoGardener my guess would be under watering, but honestly, you’re only one of two people I’ve seen that still have the Geo plant. No one else on UA-cam has made a video about it since they were released. I just want to see a more mature one. Yours is beautiful.
Thank you for all of your videos. I love following you because you live near me (I’m in a western suburb), so you are familiar with the weather challenges. Almost all of my outdoor gardening is also in pots, so I’ve learned a lot from you. My indoor lighting is definitely a challenge so I’m always looking for pet friendly low light plants. One of my favorite low maintenance plant is the Ponytail Palm. It’s technically a succulent type plant, so can go a long time between watering. And it’s adorable!
One of my favourite plants is the ponytail palm (Beaucarnea recurvata) it’s slow growing, but you can buy bigger specimens, & it’s really low maintenance, but does like fairly good light. I think they are adorable. My second favourite is the Peace Lily.
Wow your houseplant collection is so beautiful, and nicely decorated. I’ve always wanted to have a lemon tree indoors, is it relatively easy to manage for plant newbies?
Lemon plants are easy to start from seeds, wet a paper towel and place a few seeds on them and roll up, place in a baggie, in a small amt of time they will root and you can put one or two into a pot; good luck
i grew mine from the seed of a grocery store lemon. it's been about 3 years and it is 4 ft tall now. stays in a room with both south- and west-facing windows in NYC and aside from some mild rust mites i periodically wash from it it has been in great shape. the key is tons and tons of light for as many hours as possible, as they like to grow outside in direct blazing sun.
Pretty houseplant collection ❤ I also have quite a few trailing houseplants and need to slow down lol, one if my favorites is my brazil love the heart shape leaves! I also have a fascination with oxalis because of the whimsy and color!
I have a holiday cactus thats years old and it’s always my favorite this time of year it’s blooming now but top 5 all year for sure. Big beautiful lots of interest easy care! Obsessed with your silver bay!! Ive killed probably 3 aglionemas now i think i didnt let it sit dry long enough kept yellowing after each water but my little silver bay holding on with me. He needs a big brother i think haha
Thank you so much for the tour 🙏 I like the tasteful way you've integrated the plants into your home design 👌 That space looks welcoming and harmonious. The philo that you have trailing is a Philodendron hederaceum, heartleaf philodendron in English. The P. 'Brazil' is a cultivar of the same species. That plant with the rounded black leaves looks very cool. I'd never seen one of those before. What did you say the species name was? Snake plants actually do best in very bright shade with some morning or evening direct sun. And your zz raven will thrive under the grow light.
I do the same as you buy 1 plant and propagate or take cuttings and make more plants, some are very easy others are a challenge but that's how we learn... question about the drying flowers how do you use them ?
There’s a video coming Friday that will show the first project I use them for! It’s my favorite. Then I’ll also use them to make wreathes and bouquets around my home.
I want to find a good deal on giant snake plant and zz plant locally. Those are incredibly low maintenance. I saw a 4ft zz plant for $160 and 10 year old snake plant for $100, still too much.
This is a beautiful room with gorgeous plants. If you are looking for another low maintenance plant, I recommend the umbrella plant. Mine is about 5ft by 5 ft and has about 5 branches. It gets low to medium light and watering about every 10 days. You can trim it anytime. I have only repotted it 1 time. Mine is 8 years old. It's a very full lush plant with glossy green leaves.
I don't understand how you don't water very much, i go threw a gallon of filtered water a day with my plants plus i have a spay bottle i spray them with everyday aswell
I’m jealous of people that can manage to grow houseplants. I have low 4’ wide eaves over the windows so there’s usually not enough light to grow plants and I don’t typically like keeping lights on. I also keep my house cooler than most people in the winter, so everything I bring inside just goes into dormancy.
How cold do you keep it over winter?? I’m a person who loves the heat 😆 you could maybe try a snake plant. That one I’ve put in places with very very low light and it hasn’t died.
@@ChicagoGardener It is currently 53°F outside and thermostat is showing my house is at 62°F. When it gets cold outside, I may turn the furnace up to 65, but rarely goes much over that. I have a spider plant I bring indoors over winter, but even that shrivels up to about 2/3 it’s summer size.

New subscriber here. Love how you styled your plants in your beautiful home. My Hoya Kerii grows same as yours, long and empty spaces in between the leaves. All the ones I’ve seen are the same, mine grows really fast in bright light. For the marble queen it does grow slower because of the variegation. 💚🪴🌿
I love the way you displayed your plants.
Thank you so much!!
This is INSANE, one of the most beautiful houseplant tours that I've ever seen 💔💔💔
Omg thank you so much!!!
Love how you integrate the plants into your space! It looks natural and uncluttered, great restraint and good eye!

I, too, enjoy sharing my plant and garden videos! I’m happy I found your channel! ❤😊
Those Plants are healthy and lovely... 😍 😍 😍
Congratulations...Chicago Gardener. All the best wishes to you!
Love how you used hoops to form a trellis. Totally stealing that idea! I am with you on keeping all my house plants in one room. Makes life easier.
If there’s one in another room I will forget about it 😆 The hoops were from Amazon! I’ll see if I can link them in the description.
Your indoor plants are healthy and beautiful. Thanks for sharing your ideas and tips 💐
Love your vibe. You speak my language and yours is the only plant channel I've enjoyed and understood as well. I subscribed instantly
Omg that’s a huge compliment, thank you so much!
You can always put your string of hearts under a grow light. SANSI has these small clip on light for single pots. You clip it on the edge of the pot
I use the sansi puck lights. It's excellent
Thank you!! Those sound like they’d work perfectly.
Impressive plants , display and home! Thank you!
Thank you so much!
Love all the classy vintage colors and furniture in your home. Beautiful ❤🎉
Thank you so much!!
Awesome tour. Thanks for sharing.

I started using distilled water and that has helped mine
I love Aglaonema's. I have two and they have been good to me, they are fairly easy care. My Green Papaya is gorgeous and thriving. I want to add the one you have and more to my collection.
I love them too! They’re such easy houseplants!
you are the only person with a decent looking geo plant since Costa Farms released them.
💜🎉

Nice plants home decor and nice snack plant and planter🎉🎉🎉
Thank you!!
I love your Kerrii! That's a wishlist plant for me. ❤️
Your plants are beautiful and suit your home wonderfully. I have just started growing plants so mine are all fairly small.
What are your favorites so far??
I love your decor style! Beautiful plants

So what I’m hearing is I need to go buy a ponytail palm 😆
@@ChicagoGardener absolutely, you’ll love running your fingers through it’s long leaves 👍🏻
Lovely and healthy plants! I would recommend dracenas or philodendron. They are so easy!

I know some people who have no issues, but mine gets scale every winter 😫 so I always go in knowing I’ll be treating that at some point

I swear they look so good bc I ignore them 🤣

So beautifull 👏👏
