Incredible session and what a finish. Any 2k is the worst for me, I hate 2k's. And, you really need to get an erg mat under your erg or you are going to destroy those floor boards with your sweat. The things I worry about....
Your erg technique is beautiful. Solid. Robust. Like Eric Murray. None of this huge layback or yanking up to your chin even when in physical distress. Chapeau!
My hardest workout this year is the pyramid - 1min on 1r, 2min on 2r.... 4min on 4r, then back down. Managed 4246m. Just started a 9wk 2K training package. Hopefully get my 2K below 7:30.
I have lower abdominal pain when I do this workout (or hip/groin issue), with much slower pace (10k at 1:56). I have started rowing 2 months ago but it seems it is not very benefital due to big injury risk. I can do only training without straps now to avoid furhter abdominal tears, but for me harder training would be with squat implemented.
Cameron Buchan 100%. That would be awesome. I’ll let you know if I’m ever in your neck of the woods one day and I hope you do the same. Best of luck in Paris this weekend.
Hey Cam, thanks for vids. The work putting them together so frequently must be more challenging than some of those insane numbers you are pulling. A question - how do you track your progress / plans. Do you write them down? I use combination of Concept2 logbook and my own spreadsheet. What do you use? (sorry if you have covered this before)
Hardest workout so far? I started rowing last year...yesterday finally I saw 1.35 in front of me for a couple of hundred metres and I was a happy woman, let me tell you! Thanks for your videos, I am learning a lot; good luck in Paris!
Wow, that was awesome!!! It's really motivating to see you challenging yourself. I suppose 5k was hell pretty much from the start, so well done! Carry on!
@@CameronBuchan Hey, best of luck in France! A good friend of mine is competing in the 55-60 category! The peruvian beast Julio César Cruz! It would be amazing if you could wish him luck!
Hardest erg? - the last one, always the last one... Your technique is looking really good (keeping those arms much straighter!) all the way through to the end - great stuff.
Worst I do is 10x500m 1R 2k pace. Seems ok until about 6th rep in, then it seems impossible to complete, that even on the last few reps you are counting and "single-stroking" just to survive. I also hate 4x1k 5R, @ 2k pace or better. Again, only enough in the tank for 3 reps, so the 4th one is a man test, amongst men tests.
That sounds nasty! having to hang on for 5k at the end will be miserable for sure! My latest favourite: 3k @20, 2k@24, 1k@28, 500m free rate 3' rest between each piece
Are there no fans blowing directly on you? As someone from a cycling background, that makes an insane difference for anything harder than just cruising at sub 70% HRmax. Of course, that could easily be by design to, given you might not have fans in the competition your training for.
This is a brutal workout...you are incredibly fit my man!
Thanks! #yamsquad

All rowers know the pain of a 2k! You're right need to get a mat! 😂

My hardest workout this year has been learning to walk again after a brutal period in hospital
Man!!! All supermarkets in the UK are out of Yams, cz you used them all, kudos, great session, great scores, absolutely brilliant #yamsquad
Hardest for me was a recent 30 min erg, trying a 10k tomorrow though 🤦♀️ you done really well there Cam looked like a difficult one

@@NXTLVLATHLETE I look forward to that day! Thanks man! You've helped me push on for it!!
This is absolute madness! Mad respect man!
I love the determination to rowing. Just like me, I love the sport!!
Cooling will be a big issue, I've got 2 fans for indoor training
Agreed. Is a big issue. Hope Paris isn't too hot!

Hardest one was yesterday, 2x20min 19 spm, averaged 2:00.4. Gonna break 2:00 soon ;P
Blessed Snake what age r u
To pull that hard at the end is unbelievable 👊🏼
Which club will you be rowing for this racing season and at HRR?
8x250m 80s rest open rate. I had open heart surgery 2.5 months ago I'm still weak
Amazing work as always! By the way, what headphones are you using? Cheers from Peru!
Thanks Daniel! I want to make a video about them! #yamsquad

You're right, the fan can make a massive difference! There won't be one in the testing this weekend but hopefully won't be too hot!
2 ergs if you feel like it. 6 by 500 x 4 and 15 by 40 seconds with 1 minute rest at rate 24 max on each one first one brutal second one fun
Anything that involves maxing out before the end is going to be horrendous! 😂 Might have to try
I'm so proud of myself, I have a few drops of sweat on this rail. AND HERE I SEE A LITTLE LAKE ... GOOD LUCK
I'm watching the turkey's translation eklermisin pls
its a doosy! :D
