I add my amen to everything you reviewed on these books. I have really enjoyed Volume 1 since it was released and was happy to get Volume 2. The closing Liturgy of Praise for Christ Who Conquered Death is worth the price alone. It is epic and full of the resurrection truth of Jesus. Thanks for covering these brother!

Thanks for the review Tim, I have seen reference to these pop up from time to time. Might have to get a copy of each at some point. I think you need to do a part 2 where you change a diaper while reading the Liturgy while changing diapers.

These volumes are great. I've had each one since it came out. In a similar but different way as the Book of Common Prayer, they give us words of prayer in those times when words are hard to find. They are a true gift.
P.S. - To either assuage or share the shame: I'm one year younger than you and also haven't changed a diaper.

These look fascinating, but I'm not quite sure how they are to be incorporated into one's day. They are referred to as liturgies...can you comment more on what exactly this means (and includes) here? And are they geared more for younger folks with kids and a more hectic lifestyle? What about for those over 50? Thanks for anything you can add about these.
Not to steal Tim's thunder, but I have often found I am about to go through an experience in my day that I know is a liturgy in this book. I pull it out, read it, and pray it. A traditional liturgy is often used in churches as a means of praying in call and response or proclaiming truth to one another. So the author wrote many of these in that style, though he says they can still be used by individuals and encourages that practice. The prayers cover such a range of moments that people of all ages will find treasures in them. My sister has 10 children, so you can imagine the hectic lifestyle - she adores these books! She has given them to older individuals as well who also treasure them. All of that to say, Gretchen, I would recommend them to any follower of Jesus of any age without hesitation.
Nathaniel answered this better than I could... I would encourage you to check out the table of contents and see some of the various themes in the first volume. It covers a wide array of situations and moments in life.
