Sounds like a good resource to get. I've also used Kenneth Boa's "Face to Face," which guides in praying Scripture, just slightly turning biblical passages into direct addresses to God. Three months of daily prayer. Each day provides passages to pray in the pattern of adoration, confession, renewal, petition, intercession, affirmation, thanksgiving, and closing prayer. The petition and intercession sections each follow a weekly cycle so that each significant relationship and responsibility receives prayer at least weekly. While I prefer to pray more spontaneously prompted by my daily study and meditation in the Word, Face to Face has been a valuable "reboot" when I feel I'm dragging, distracted, or neglecting the broader prayer elements that can be overlooked.
I absolutely love this volume! I am delighted you enjoy it as well. You forgot to mention the wonderful forward by Andrew Peterson. 😉 It is because of him that my husband and I discovered Every Moment Holy. He came to play at our church and my husband is on staff as the Tech Director so he was in the “green room” beforehand and was in charge of running sound, etc. Andrew read the “Before Taking the Stage” prayer as they all gathered to prayer before the show started.
I’ve had that beautiful volume for a while and this just made me think of a few folks who have birthdays coming up and who’d love it. Glad you’ve been enjoying it too, Dr. Moore!
