For the U3 boss fight apparently it will be in the Ada dlc because it fits her character better so I’m glad we still get to see how they’ll modernize it

@@kuribos This is great to hear! I was extremely disappointed by this, U3 was probably my second favorite boss in the game. Glad to hear separate ways is actually being added.
Yeah I believe U3 and Verdugo 2 will both be in Ada's DLC. After all they need to replace the Krauser fight since Leon finishes him in the Remake (which is more fitting).
The Resident Evil: Darkside Chronicles rail-shooter game had a segment where you could play Operation Javier and learn more about Leon and Krauser's backstory together, and sets up his eventual villain arc. But I agree with you, I wish the remake had set things up a little better and given us just a bit more about Krauser.

Yeah for krauser even in the original they really banked on hoping you played Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles to understand his character. Which for the longest time I didn’t even know that game existed and to this day I still have never played!
Picked it up yesterday despite having a massive backlog to work through and been really enjoying it so far! Unsure if itll knock the 2 remake from my top spot but it's got a pretty good chance at doing so😀 Great video as usual Cody! Looking forward to the speedrun playthroughs🙂

Resident Evil 4 Remake is an absolute masterpiece. It fixed EVERYTHING that I disliked about the original and now it's in my Top 3 RE games. Ashley was my favorite part of the game and I can't believe I actually said this.
I hear EVERYBODY talking about the clock tower strat from the OG. It’s been a while since I played, but from my recollection, they toss Molotov Cocktails at you and burn you to death if you camp up top.
Completely agree with you on pretty much everything. I think this might be my favorite RE game, taking over the spot from RE2 remake. I love what they did with Ashley and Luis. The gameplay is so much better, I'm one of the ones who hate the gameplay of the original, so this was what I've been wanting. I love how they changed things around and trolled us on certain parts. I'm kinda bummed we didn't get the U3 boss, but I didn't want to do that storage section so I'm okay with it. Capcom is killing it with the remakes, can't wait to see which one they do next. Great review Cody, hope you're feeling better.
Cody I apologize, I commented before realizing I wasn't subbed to this channel, only your movie channel, that's been taken care of. Once again, love the review!
I LOVED this remake. Currently on my 4th Playthrough & almost maxed out all the weapons. The story/characters/tonal atmosphere is a complete overhaul of the originals story. The gameplay is top notch god tier on the same lvl of the originals gameplay. It might not ever completely overhaul the original for me but it’s DAMN near close if not tied w the original. SO GOOD
Krauser and the whole Operation Javier that he and Leon went on is explored in one of the Wii Light Gun Games. Also the actress who is voicing Ada, played her in Welcome to Raccoon City
Great review Cody!!! Loving your content for almost six years now! After getting the Platinum I can safely say that I love this remake, it’s in my top 5 favourite games of all time… almost everything is improved for me, specially Ashley, the combat, exploration and tone. This game is so good! but there are 4 things that really bogged me(contain spoilers and prevented it from being in my top 3… 4. Luis didn’t felt like a friend like in the first one. Still liked him but didn’t felt nothing when he died. 3. The fact that two S+ trophies don’t stack. I don’t see any reason to make like that. Just give one trophy for the S+ in hardcore. 2. Saddler really didn’t felt like the main villain in this one and Leon hardly interacted with him. 1. Why the hell did they cut U3 out?! The Island was awesome but U3 was sorely missed!
The small keys were a bit annoying I agree. If only because you would get one and then have to backtrack damn near to the beginning to open one drawer. Lol
It almost seems like they had a different VA for Ada during most of the production, then for whatever reason they had to find a replacement at the last minute. probably not what actually happened but that's how it comes off. also those me, myself, and irene inserts were top notch man. 👍
My fav resident evil game. I never cared about the charms enough to distract me just made a good loadout. Resident evil 4 was my fav Re game and the remake is my fav remake and top 5 games of all time. Already beat it once. Playing professional now.
Yes I’m disappointed with the lack of background info on Krauser, although they mention and reference the events of Operation Javier from RE Darkside Chronicles, I’m hopeful we will get more from the DLC Separate Ways. U3 was also mentioned in a document in the game and may end up in Separate ways.
I had never played an RE game before this but this game was an absolute fucking treat. Legitimately one of the best games I’ve ever played in my life. I even ended up getting the platinum the other night since I loved it so much. I can’t wait to try out that new Mercenaries mode and to see what that Ada DLC that everyone keeps talking about ends up looking like. And there seems to be a fuckton of these games so I don’t know completely where to go from here, but I’m honestly pretty tempted to try out REmake 1 & 2 after this. Great review as always Cody!
Thing about RE is...games can be vastly different so one game might work for you and the other doesn't...I recommend playing through re2-3R because of ots camera (recommend standard for 2R and hardcore for 3R), re5 is also a really good co-op game if you' don't mind some dumb fun action If you actually like those games and are invested in the series play 1R and 7-8
Great review Cody I really enjoyed it honestly I loved the game myself and appreciate all of the quality of life improvements though I do hate how some content was cut like the U3 and laser room. Hopefully in DLC we'll get that. Also if you plan on making a ranking of all of the main title RE games that'd be great.
I was hesitant about this game, because I consider the original RE4 to be near perfection. This shocked me because of how good it was. I’m really glad this subverted my expectations
The difficulty trophies do stack but only with professional S Plus . If u get professional S Plus u will get the standard and hardcore trophies but u will not get the standard trophy if u beat it on hardcore
@@CLGameChamber it worked for me so hopefully they do make so it each difficulty stacks with one another . But completing professional with an s plus rank unlocked the standard s plus trophy for me but not hardcore since I had that one already
This IS the best remake of all time. Mercenary mode & separate ways dlc coming eventually w the U-3 fight solidifies that. It’s definitely tied w the OG & maybe in a year it might surpass it. CAPCOM is a god tier company yet again
The only thing that disappointed me in this remake was the exclusion of the U-3 monster (which might be appearing in upcoming DLC, so that could be rectified). Other than that, Capcom did a phenomenal job here and I really hope they'll remake Code Veronica next instead of 5, but I won't hold my breath.
U3 is rumoured for Separate Ways dlc. Also, when shooting enemies, headshots do the same amount of dmg as leg or body shots, but have a higher chance of crit dmg and will stun the enemy.
Hope you are feeling better Cody...My only small gripe was the U-3 fight being omitted, but overall loved the game...Free Mercaneries DLC is off the charts fun !
Cody, just so you’re aware, the achievements/trophies stack IF you are on professional. If you S+ Pro, it will give you the hardcore and standard trophies respectively. However if you S+ hardcore, you have to do Standard separately. There is no S+ Pro achievement though, just simply beating it. Idk if that would effect your view on it or not, since it’s dependent on how the player wants to go about it. Especially now that Mercs. Unlocks the Handcannon, so that’s an alternative for anyone having issues with Pro.
Already done 3 playthroughs, absolutely loved it! Re2 original is my favourite mainly because of nostalgia but this is the best remake by far! Wanted get the plat only got gun and knife run/S+ trophies left..
I absolutely loved this remake. It exceeded my expectations. Someone who loves the OG dearly and played it so many times I have to say I think I prefer the remake. I love what they did with the characters like Luis and Ashley. I never get tired of this game (:
I played this game sooo much when it released. This remake is possibly the best remake ever made. I have to play the original again to say which I like more. I posted my review on the game on my yt channel which makes me wanna play it more. Near perfection
Once i finish Mass Effect Legendary Edition, moving right along to this! Love the review, and definitely one of my favorite games as well, lost count how many times I replayed/rebought myself 😂
I was never a huge fan of the original game, always been a classic fixed camera RE guy. But this remake was incredible, it fixed pretty much every issue I had with the original aside from bringing classic zombies back but nothings perfect.
Only gripe with this fantastic remake is I missed getting 20-50,000 pesetas after a boss fight and now only getting an emerald or something which by itself is worth 5-9,000.
The Original Resident Evil 4 was my favourite game for nearly a Decade until The Last of Us came out, now years later it has levelled up with The Last of Us 2 as my favourite Video Game Ever, it is an absolute masterpiece of entertainment and ideo games are so important, it has story , intense gameplay, real horrific moments , A Brilliant weapons upgrade system that curves with the intense adventure on your journey through the game , This is a 5 Star Triple A game that will again behold in true gamers hearts, like Cody said one or 2 little gripes like the trinkets added on the suitcase and for me The Lake monster was way too easy , but I struggled with Saddler at the end over every other boss, but that's how it should be, I used rocket launcher on Ramon Salazar like I did on 2nd playthrough of The Original, 1 shot 1 kill Boom 💥 , But gonna play The Professional and try to get Chicago Typewriter that's where the real fun starts , great review Cidy spot on as always being a true RE4 fan , I Love what Capcom have done here and again go as far to say it's Like a Tie for Best Game Ever with Last of Us 2 , it's so freaking awesome and enjoyable 10/10 for me 😎
Oh good it's not just m having trouble with Ramon. The opportunities to shoot him are so small it's ridiculous. I wish I'd have known the golden egg trick before I got to him.
I appreciate the old Ashley mechanics. She’d stay in one spot, or stand right behind you while being repulsed from the line of fire. It seems like you can choose from her being four feet away or six feet away and she’s also going to hide in crowds of enemies
Agreed. And I can’t even count how many times I’ve accidentally shot Ashley in the remake because she constantly runs exactly in your line of fire. I never had issues with her getting taken or dying in the original. All of a sudden she’s dying or getting taken away constantly.
You cannot reload your save for different charms, it's the same until you reach a new NG cycle. Also the Salazar fight was far better than the OG, where you shot one weak point without moving. You can use an egg to kill Salazar quickly. I beat professional on s+ and got all trophies, sorry that happened to you. Glad you like the game
Hey Cody in regards to your last criticism I actually just got S+ on professional and it gave me the standard and hardcore S+ trophies. But again you don’t have to do professional s+ for the platinum and it’s really hard.
I wasn't totally a fan of RE4, I was still so attached to the experience of it taking place in Racoon City, so it felt weird they took it to a new place. But now with this remake, adding more horror elements plus action and the grittiness of this, i would say this is my brand new favorite RE game
Listen man, i never was the biggest resident evil fan or survival horror in general. I've played most of the RE games, finished afew of them and thats it, i barely played the original RE4 game. I am usually into big rpgs like skyrim or more action focused shooters like doom eternal. Saying that and without having nostalgia for RE4, playing the remake right now i have to say that this game is just outstanding, absolutely incredible masterpiece. To a point where no other resident evil game was even in my top 10 before, this one is condesting for being nearly at the top. And for that matter absolutely the best remake ever made.
That’s stupid that the difficulty trophies don’t stack, At least there aren’t any trophies tied to mercenaries mode like in village. The only reason I don’t have the plat in village is the stupid mercenaries trophy
Game is incredible. My gripes are minor. I wanted the QTEs on Del Lago. That was the Oh Shit moment in the OG and I just feel without getting knocked from the boat and not slicing the rope after you defeat the creature was a missed opportunity. But loving this game. Incredible. Great Review.
I see. I guess I meant the part where the statue’s chasing you. It was an annoying quick time bit, but I thought they might modernize the chase instead of removing it. I would’ve loved it if they reworked the chase so Leon was at the head of the controls instead of Salazar.
I think people who like to use the SMG and Rocket Launcher it will be more action horror for me l like using pistols and shotguns so it felt more survival horror I love this game better than the first which was my second now I'm debating between RE4 remake or The original RE2 .Great review Cody
For me the mixed / minus is the difficulty trophy's...... I enjoy it on Assisted. And I'm onto playthrough 3 now. It's better when it's like God Of War and the platinum isn't locked behind dumb stuff like finish the game on extreme really fast blah blah. Other than that a masterpiece
Good review man I think I have alot of the feelings about the game you do, also I can't stand the enemies not getting killed or stunned in a headshot, even in harder modes
Cody I grew up loving the original RE4 when I was younger but as an adult the original hasn't really aged well. This remake is perfect, it improves upon everything I disliked about the original and everything that they did add to the remake I thought was a welcome change
I don't have PS 4 or PS 5 but someday when I do this will be the first game I pickup. I do like the original game but hated the quick time events. I haven't played it in years because of that. Not too impressed by the voice cast. To me the people who did Ashley ,Luis and the merchant were like the only good voice actors. I haven't played it but have seen someone else play it. Yeah I do spoil things like that. I was never into the whole remake trope but this is the first remake that I am generally impressed with while watching people play it.
I need to finish it, but so far I definitely wouldn't call it better than the REmake of RE2. It's good (for sure) but it has yet to do anything that strikes that perfect balance between remake and reinvention the way that RE2 REmake did. That may partially be due to the fact that I always preferred the survival horror entries in the series over the more action based ones. Granted, RE4 did the best job of striking a good balance between the two and, so far, the REmake of RE4 has lived up to that. But at this point (I am half way through the game) I'm unconvinced if I like the REmake of RE4 more than the original whereas halfway through the REmake of RE2, I was convinced that I had a new favorite entry in the series.
To me the Original Resident evil 2005 GameCube version is a Perfect game, a Masterpiece, a king of Survival Horror , and I believe this Re4 remake is the 2nd greatest survival horror of all time behind the original back from 2005. The remake is a 10 out of 10 no doubt .
It appears the trophy stacking issue may have been resolved in a patch.

Cody vs Salazar a classic 😂😂😂😂 hates the thing, Ashley more tolerable 👍🏾 and i can’t wait for RE9!!!
The mercenaries mode is a shit ton of fun. But we're missing a map, wesker and ada :/
Hey Cody in regards to your last criticism I actually just got S+ on professional and it gave me the standard and hardcore S+ trophies. But again you don’t have to do professional s+ for the platinum and it’s really hard.
It must have been fixed in a patch at some point.
I bet some of the cut stuff will be in Ada's DLC.
Imma be honest I don’t hate the Ada voice. I may be on an island but oh well.
The original RE4 is in my top 3 favourites of all time, and I LOVED this remake.
Minus points for omitting the Salazar statue lol
The statue is still in the game, pretty hard to miss
I see. I guess I meant the part where the statue’s chasing you. It was an annoying quick time bit, but I thought they might modernize the chase instead of removing it. I would’ve loved it if they reworked the chase so Leon was at the head of the controls instead of Salazar.
Ramon getting egged is something...
Now this questions me if you're gonna do a remake of the RE games ranked.
Cody I grew up loving the original RE4 when I was younger but as an adult the original hasn't really aged well. This remake is perfect, it improves upon everything I disliked about the original and everything that they did add to the remake I thought was a welcome change
I heard they're saving the U-3 boss for the separate ways dlc.
Thats interesting if true!
I would love to see ur review about the evil within if u played the 2 games since they are the most games near résident evil 4
Isn't the VA for Ada the same actress that played her in the mid-credits scene of welcome to racoon city ?
I'm not sure.
Yes, that's her in Welcome to Raccoon City.
Dam cody you and I are the same on this game
I took Salazar out with one shot from the rpg lol
Quake 4 I had to play 4 or 5 different difficulties! Agreed there’s been a few games I think Far Cry Predator Instincts also, Hate that shit as well!
I’m loving mercenaries . Can not wait for them to add Ada and wesker . We are for sure getting Ada dlc and going to fight u3 I’m calling it
And Verdugo 2, calling it here as well!
@@JenovahX they changed u3 to the 2nd vertigo . Same character in this game according to the files u can collect
I miss the I got gum line 😅
Just got the platinum , the original was my favourite I took vacation to play it lol
