    I have the UFO BB as well in silver. Quality and packaging is superb!! I had to cut the “do thingy” because it was too long for my bike…measure before putting on the other side. It’s looking awesome!! Can’t wait to see the rest of the build! Mahalo!

      Isn't that UFO bottom bracket just incredible? Man, I thought it was nice on their website but now that I have one installed, man, that thing is a beauty. Luckily our spacer fit just fine. We didn't measure it so we're lucky. Thanks for the comment and for watching! Appreciate it! 🤙🏻

    Great choice of color to go with the white frame! I have the Knight BB on my red anodized Race inc in gold and it looks great. I also bought the exact same BB tool on amazon as you did Kevin and it worked great on my Knight BB install! The tool also has many other uses for pressing in head cups also, so burney can retire his old tool..lol..can't wait to see your choice of crank and wheelset, the bike going to look great! Thanks boys for the video.

    You got it right. 1 at a time makes you less likely to have them go in Crooked. Same for the headset if cups are needed.

      That's what I initially thought and to me, that's the safer thing to do. But we're not the experts so I'm glad someone who knows more than us was able to give us the right info! We've done that one at a time with the headset cups too. Thanks for sharing that info and watching another one brother! 🤙🏻

    Good work! One side at a time with bottom bracket cups and headsets. If it's a tiny bit crooked, the straight side of the frame will help to straighten the cup out with force. If you're doing two at a time, it can get crooked easier. Also, make sure you don't use a rubber washer, for example, thinking it will help with not scratching the frame, because the rubber will compress and will likely mess up the dust seal on the bearing. It happened to me once when I thought I was being clever. Fail! :D

      I've always wondered if a true bike mechanic would do both at one time or do it one at a time like we did and so thanks for confirming that! Yeah, I can totally see how it's way more beneficial to do it one side at a time, for the reasons you mentioned. That's one thing you don't want to mess up. Hey, here's a question for you....as I was editing the video I thought to myself, what if we needed to remove the bottom bracket after it was already in? Is there any tool to use or would you just have to get like a hammer and some sort of screwdriver to knock it out, little by little from the opposite end? Thanks for always supporting us garage mechanics! Appreciate you bro! 🤙🏻

      @@cruisinginthe808 There are different kinds of tools ranging in price in size. The cheapest for BMX would be a bottom bracket bearing removal tools that looks like (and works like) a headset removal tool. You punch it in halfway, it expands, and then you knock the cups out the opposite way. There are also more expensive "press fit bottom bracket removal tools" but they have to be just the right size. Most people in BMX would pull a bearing out of one side (even if it has to be destroyed), and then just use a socket and extension with a mallet to tap it out. Cheers!!

    Nice setup for sure. Quick question did your race inc frame set come with the drop out savers (shims) to fit standard 3/8” axles?

    • @cruisinginthe808
      @cruisinginthe808  Рік тому

      Thanks! Yes it did. I have some for the fork and for the rear dropout but I'm going to be using the Billet BMX chain tensioner that has it's own drop out spacer. Have you seen that yet? Check out their website. The spacer is stainless steel and is super solid. Thanks for the comment and for watching! 🤙🏻

    Are you going to be able to get the spindle in with both sides of the bottom bracket installed ???

    • @cruisinginthe808

      Yes, we actually put a spindle in it after we stopped filming and it's all good. I picked up another set of cranks to see which looks best and we were shocked at what we found. We'll point that out in the next video. Thanks for the comment and for watching! 🤙🏻
