so cool! my parents had one of these from the time i was around 5yrs old till i was about 11, my dad loved it, it turned him into a volvo enthusiast, probably saved his bacon when he became the meat in the middle of a 3 car sandwich ! my dad and my grandfather , who was a welder ended up repairing the car themselves. my grandfather said the volvo had the "thickest metal he'd seen on a car since his model A!!" all that inspired my dad to bring home a p1800 to use as his daily commuter car . 11 year old me was over moon!!! mom, not so much lol . man, i would love to have one of these now and swap my k-24 in it, turbo charged of course!!! nice job!
@@bosprocket That’s awesome, it’s always interesting to hear the stories that have shaped us and our families into automotive enthusiasts!!! A K24 swap would be very cool, we actually considered it but the transmission to make that work would’ve broke the budget
Way cool build that I wish I could do. I was gifted a 65 122s. I fwd the gift to a young man needing a motor and manual drivetrain, throwing in the front suspension since I am going with upgrade to rack n pinion. Triangulating the rear with an 8" ford, c-4 with a 302 because that is what I have left over from 65 Falcon build. This has really helped to get a fire lit again on my project. Thanks' so much for sharing.
@@js7127 I glad I could fire up the interest in your project again, I’d love to see your build, it’s gonna be wild with that drivetrain, mine weighed around 2600 lbs, can’t imagine yours would be much off of that, so power to weight should make it quite the beast!!
@Elving_ Thanks, it’s actually the timing cover off of the original engine and a fog light trim bezel that was laying in the back of the car, suits the car so well!!!
As soon as you mentioned the flood of 97, I knew that it was a fairly local car. Nice build with outside of the box car and power train. Worked with a guy in the 80s who had a T-bird with the 2.3 turbo and 5 speed that was pretty quick for its size.
And I really like the fact that you swapped this amazing Volvo model with a super cool 4cyl Ford engine and not like most of the 🇺🇸 peoples with a big 🇺🇸 V8 , mainly because this Volvo had a 4cyl B18 engine. Once again Well done ! 👍😉
Believe me my cousin has a cosworth 4cyl that I cannot afford so am going with a 302 that I have. I totally agree with you on the fad LS swap trend. Cheap engine but way too large for minimal impact swap, plus who wants a Chevy? LOL!!!!!
That's a neat little car! I'll bet it's fun to drive! I have a 2001 Mazda b2500 pickup (same as a Ranger). It runs great, but I want to do some type of engine swap. @@Tealmoney8571 It is SO much fun to drive!!! One of the best parts is the head scratching when the hood opens, there’s nothing like someone walking up going “lets look at the LS swapped Volvo” and they have no idea what engine it is, 😂
