Lovely to see my grandad, Peter Procter, in this great documentary. What a dangerous but fabulous story they were all part of and what beautiful cars!

What a treat. This took me back to Snetterton 1965 and the final race in the European Touring car championship. Myself and two mates cycled from Norwich to see our first ever motor race, we didn't realise that this 500km event was due to finish in darkness. We hung on as long as possible but the idea of cycling back to Norwich on the A11 without bike lights did not appeal.
The racing did not disappoint and the sight of the Alan Mann Cortinas driven by Sir John Whitmore and Peter Proctor battling the Alfa Romeos and BMWs is something I'll always remember. Whitmore won the race and clinched the championship, Peter Proctor finished 6th.
A year later and the Cortinas were back for another 500km with John Whitmore and Jackie Stewart. Two things I remember vividly from this race were the sight of Jochen Rindt in an Alpha Giulia GTA charging round Coram while casually glancing over to where we were standing then Jackie Stewart spinning off in front of us when the heavens opened. Rindt was also caught out in the rain, aquaplaning off at Richies.
I think the race was won by Hubert Hahne in a BMW.
    Happy, memorable days.

You could ask what Bob Bonderant thought about Alan Mann, when he came to Eourope and Alan told him that he could only drive his cars if he stayeed behind his current drivers Whitmore and Hill.. Of course that dident stop Bonderant

Great film, but in my opinon the music sometimes overpower the commentary.
