Interesting testing. Watched this to see if it was worth updating my current water boiling kit which consists of a Firemaple Petrel pot, SOTO Windmaster (or SOTO fusion Trek) and Optimus windshield if using the Windmaster. Conclusion; what I have is a great kit and no need to change it. I do like this FM Mars though and it’s use as mini tent heater is quite handy. Can that blue cosy thing be removed, the blue just doesn’t work for me.
Forget quick boil times. I find that really pointless 😂😂😂. The thing I like about it is the way the pot sits on the burner. No fiddly locking mechanism. On and off. Easy. It’s a great stove. I genuinely love it. It uses a lot of gas when you use it to heat the tent mind.
I took gas to heat, though. Different mindset, not, I am wasting cooking gas heating. More, this is my separate heating gas. I know what you mean about resting it squarely on though. Nice. You still haven't sent me an email. Don't make me come to Blyth to find you.
About meeting to look at the Verns when available. Would be cool to comoare tge vern 2 afainst tge Staika and vern 1 against the Soulo if you are up for it @@AndyWardle
I am doing a lot of research via review on FM Mars before the decision. One of my concern is that the product says FM Mars burner cannot be used with ‘shiny’ cookware and it may cause a damage to the burner. This is perhaps due to infrared radiation reflecting back and increase the temperature to the burner, but I was wondering how critical it is if I were to use aluminium/stainless steel pan?

As long as it is not shiny. The fm one itself is dull. Anodised aluminium ideal.
