- This shark isn’t supposed to be in these waters…
I attached a GoPro to a cage full of shark bait, and dropped it in the Bali Sea to see if we could record some big, rare sharks. There were sharks and big predatory fish (triggerfish, trevally, snappers) everywhere, and we managed to find a rare shark that’s been at the top of my Hit List for a while!

Really cool ey! I actually thought I saw one at this dive site a few years ago, so was hoping we'd find it but didn't expect such a good clip. Gotta find those hammerheads next 🔨

And it was again extraordinary! Just beautiful. Those garden eels really reminded me of my time in Mexico, where I found these during a holiday on the pacific coast in Oaxaca. I used to swim every morning while I was there and every time I just got so excited when I saw them! Also that Snaggletooth that bit the cage is just so cool! What a beautiful shark, those fins and the slender body are just so perfect. And holy moly that electric clam is magnificent!! I had no idea there were clams that have these light reflecting cells visible from the outside, I only ever saw this with jellyfish. A bummer that the autofocus didn't want to work and the whole thing is a bit blurry.

The garden eels are a nightmare to film 😅 I've left my camera next to them a few times to try and get some footage, but after about 10 minutes of waiting for them to pop their heads up more than an inch I usually give up and swim off - will try again soon 🤞 Was super happy with the snaggletooth - couldn't believe it!! I'll try and get some better footage of the clam as well next time I'm at that site. I was already pretty knackered after dropping the camera down 🥱
