My mom had been to doctor this evening who said that she has the Gout. I searched for gout and this video has really helped me understand what she's facing and the exact symptoms described in this video matched her situation. Thank-you for making such wonderful video. It's not only helping medical students, but also to normal people who are completely unknown about these problems and these animated short videos help us understand at best!
Glad we could help Vijay. You and your mom take care.

Gout can be INCREDIBLY painful...to the point where you can't put any pressure at all on your foot. That means no walking at all. It really sucks. It feels like having a broken bone in your foot.
I discovered I had gout because I thought my foot was broken. 100% accurate
@@mr.mickles Man, I hope your gout attack has cleared up for you. Absolutely worst pain I've ever gone through in my life!
Did your doctor give you a prescription to Colchicine? That stuff is amazing for me. I take it the day I start getting signs of a flare up, then for the next couple of days...and it stops full on attacks in their tracks.
@@twitchster77 Nope. They said I need more flareups or events before medication. They said medication could cause a flare up?
Exactly what it feels like Haha
@@twitchster77 Thank you.
My first flare up was a bad few days and then a bit of a rough week. Took two weeks to feel normal. Now I see the signs of minor flare ups and will drink a ton of water and sleep wit my foot up. Seems to work.
Eliminating the foods listed won’t help most folks and eating those foods won’t cause obesity. Most gout is caused by metabolic syndrome caused by too much sugar and carbohydrates being ingested.
Plus sugar is in everything so you really can’t get away from it best to try and limit how much sugar you eat.
Just got my 1st gout attack 2 days ago. Felt like someone dropped a cinder block on my right foot. Pain came out of no as I was driving at night.
As I write, the pain level is an 8.
I do not wish this on my own enemy.
I have been drinking lots of water, and doing turmeric/ginger & tart cherry supplements...I eat nothing but peanut butter on rye bread, and arugula with lemon juice.
My younger brother suffers from gout past 5 years...now I totally understand his pain.
Any other food recommendations are welcome. I am sorry to all who suffer from this.
how are you now? does your gout symptoms still occur?
Do you have gout on your big toe?
I woke up with a sore foot three days ago which swelled up and got progressively worse until I drove myself to the hospital to get it checked. The doctor immediately confirmed it was gout and prescribed 0.6 mg colchicine taken twice a day for about 2-3 days. I’m going to drink water like crazy and stay away from red meat, chicken, shellfish, corn syrup, etc. for a long time.
I’ve been dealing with gout for 15 years
Back in September 2021 I watched The Game Changers on Netflix and then read The China Study. This led me to make the decision to stop eating all meats and eat a vegetarian diet. I have yet to have an attack in the 6 months since and attribute this to abstaining from all meats. I firmly believe that eating meat causes gout
No, eating too much meat, high fructose corn syrup and seafood causes gout. Listen to the video. 🙄
Does eating eggs causes gout?
I have had this before and last time i chugged water with sugar free dilute juice in it about 4 litres a day and it went super fast around 1 or 2 days. Yesterday it came back and i drank about 3L of water and today I barely notice it but im still going to drink around 3L and i think it will be gone by tomorrow. Once you know what it feels like if you notice it starting again drink tons of water just not in one go
Drink a lot of water will help to reduce the pain

Why uricosuric drugs cause acute attack of gout during early phase?
What should I do if I have a genetic predisposition for gout? I'm 22 years old and both my father and uncle have gout. Does a high protein diet increase the risk of me developing gout? I don't smoke and I drink occasionally about 6 times a year. I'm quite active too and lift weights 4-5 times a week and play basketball often. I eat mostly a vegetarian diet with eggs and whey protein daily and chicken twice a week. Is there any risk for me developing gout or should I change my diet?
Unfortunately we don’t provide medical advice through this channel. We’d recommend reaching out to a local health professional for any consultation and diagnosis of your condition.
Nope don't change your diet. You sound healthy . Deal with it if it occurs. Your activity should protect you. Drink water. All 🙂

It so encouraging to see positive responses like yours stating that one does not have to permanently suffer from this painful disease. I was diagnosed with gout just a few months ago . Though I had only one acute attack and immediately went on medication, there are mild attacks every week . I have hence done a complete U turn on my diet . I have completely BANNED alcohol, meat , sugary drinks , processed food , bakery products , packaged chips and have gone on a strictly vegetarian diet and drink plenty of water . I want to absolutely reverse this condition and never want to have another gout attack , ever again because it hurts like hell .
I looked and looked for a remedy for my gout. I had extreme, severe pain. I tried some expensive supplements, but I didn't see any results. Finally, I saw on someone's comment under a gout video, take baking soda. I followed his advice, one and a half teaspoons of baking soda, once in the morning and before bed. I mixed it with at least 16 oz of tart cherry juice (a natural anti-inflammatory). I also soaked my foot in hot water for 20 minutes in the morning and 20 minutes in the evening. I could tell a difference fairly quickly. The pain and sensitivity went down each day. After three or four days, I could walk normally and with no pain. Thanks for that comment.
I get gout once every 3 years, it fucking sucks. I'm an athlete weigh 200 lbs and have 6 pack abs. This crap can hit anyone, stay well hydrated, and pee a lot.
Did you try grounding? it's good for almost all health problems including gout...go DIY a grounding mat yourself, it's simple.
I have gout for a few years, I want to comment on how I have ""controlled" it" In addition to taking Allopurinol I have a diet, Ripe banana. (Not Banana) boiled well, then smoothie with strawberries and blueberries. Some Yogurts, (Not all) Meat, Yes meat, but Goat, Also Rabbit. and Tilapia Fish There is a Rice called Basmati. (Low GI), Crab too but from king crab. Tumeric helps too. Flour tortillas a little. Eggs Skim milk..,Some vegetables but not all. Avocado, Cilantro, Celery, Carrots, Zucchini, Eggplant, Taro, Nopal, A little pinto beans and a certain type of lentils. Potatoes (Not fried) If you like them fried, use an "air Frier" Good luck and Blessings!
You literally mentioned red meats and shell fish, sources that are loaded with purines, and people gave you upvotes for your ridiculous recommendations? SMH.
So if i dont eat alot of those bad foods' and im still getting gout. Does that mean i have kidney problems?
OK. So who's having gout flare-ups during this self-isolation?

Trust me, if you want to avoid gout flare-ups (which feels like a living hell by the way) then eat dust, air and water. That's it! No sarcasm intended.
Nothing like gout to kickstart your middle age health kick.
Yes. Because if all you consume is dust air and water…you’ll soon die and no longer have to worry about flare ups.
You forgot mentioning that you should not take Alopurinol or any other medication that decreases Uric acid during an Acute gout attack, giving it can worsen the attack. And if the patient is already on alopurinol, you should not increase the dose or take it out. Love your videos!
Why?
@@sajadahmad6343coz fluctuations in uric acid levels may cause crystallization on uric acid, gets deposit in joints and precipitate the acute attack

If anyone needs advice on getting rid of gout, I would advise you to look at your diet such as this video lays out, but to also look into fixing your gut bacteria in addition to losing any excess weight. I lost weight, started eating a consistent diet that wasn't nearly as strict as these videos suggest you need to be, and started taking daily probiotics. I haven't had a flare up since. Your intestinal microbiota help with metabolozing of purine and uric acid. I don't know the person reading this, but if you have gout and aren't just eating ridiculous amounts of trigger foods - you probably have a problem with your gut bacteria, like I did. If your gut isn't helping, it puts the burden on your liver.
Smh.
@aggieraz 2 years ago. Still true.
I've been eating only meat for 2 months, haven't had a gout attack since. It's not the meat that causes it. It's fructose, alcohol and smoking. Avoid sugar and fructose and alcohol and you'll get way better.
jernej tojersu I completely agree. Same is true for me. No attacks for well over the year I’ve been carnivore.
I think that may be partially true for most. Meat seems to exacerbate it once it’s already started for me but the main causative agents are those you mentioned.
Red meat and sea food are ok. Carbohydrate is the problem. Decrease this stuff and enjoy your red meat and sea food
I’ve dealt with gout for about 6 years now, it’s one of the worst pains I’ve ever experienced. I developed gout from heavy drinking in college.
For me I dont get it in my toes, it’s always my ankles.

I will say, some home remedies I’ve found to be amazing are black cherry juice and a ton of celery for anyone who is experiencing gout. And for meals just do brown rice and eggs until it clears up.
I used to get gout attacks at least 4 times a year and it took a week to get better. A few years ago I started taking a magnesium supplement, once in the morning and once in the evening. I am in my 30's and getting the gout more often now and I know it is due to my diet. It sucks because I live in Wisconsin and beer, burgers, cheese, brats, fried fish, pizza - all staples of a good time out with friends and everyone around here loves these foods - including me. It's easy to cut these foods out of my diet when the gout flares up, but slowly over time I find myself eating like crap again and I only realize it once it is too late. Who ever thought one could get an injury from eating cheese?
That diet sounds like death , maybe a tasty one lol
The key is excersize. You have to be active to counter balance some of the bad things you eat. Things like burgers should be eaten once every 2 or 3 weeks. not every week or everyday

Restroom was the fun times.. The time to p££ and probably the only time you say to people "what the f**k you looking at" and again my hat off to you if you make it time.. Something to p££ in good to have in your ride and side of the bed and trust me you will need it.. Bedtime you can say goodbye to also.. Movement and touch is a f**k*ng b*tch.. Even water felt like Razer blade. But I can't say this is what you will go through it might be different for everyone.. this what I went through and that didn't even change my habits I still eat, drink and do drugs.. I'm 36. in these past three months, Every time a new joint popped up, it wasn't quite as bad as the one before. and I think it's because I have been getting my uric acid levels down with good diet. But on the last week it went to my elbow and it was terrible. I saw a video saying to stop ALL sugars. Added sugars, natural sugars ALL OF IT. as much as possible atleast. Maybe around 20 grams natural sugar per day may be ok. Not in one meal. NO FRUIT. NONE. I even stay away from vegetables that are higher than 3 grams per 100. Also I saw a video saying stop grains. Like whole grains. Also try to stay away from vinegar. When I tried this, it seems to have stopped. It may be a culmination of everything I've been doing the last couple months though. But it definately has stopped for a week for the first time in 3 months right when I did that. It seems to be a lot more about what you shouldn't put in your body than what you should. Portion control. Calorie count if it helps. Stay hydrated. Don't crash diet and don't eat big meals, to avoid spiking, triggering. Joint friendly Excersize regimen once able. Eat lots of vegetables. Eggs are good. Nuts are good. Olive oil about 2 tbspns per day good. Beans ok. Fat free/reduced dairy ok. Some meats like white chicken may be ok but I think why risk it. I stay away from things with ingredient labels with a lot of stuff I can't pronounce in it. If there is something I'm not quite sure about I use in moderation. I just do eggs nuts beans and dairy for protein for now. Until uric acid levels go down and then work stuff like grains, lean meats/fish/seafood, and fruit back into your diet. It helps that I am good at cooking, both of my parents being chefs. ( Which is probably part of the original problem. In Louisiana nontheless) Almond flour is great. Between that, riced cauliflower, eggs, olive oil and fat free cheese, I can make those vegetables taste pretty good. Always with a fresh salad with each meal. Gout is the personal trainer that I needed. That guy don't play around. When he says drop the cheesecake, you better do it or sleep with one eye open. He will attack you in your sleep. He's dedicated to making you change. You will thank him later. Lol. For some people, it's just genetics. For most people, it seems to be poor diet, gluttony, alcoholism. I have never had a good diet for 3 months in my life until now.
Hebrews 12:4-13 NIV
In your struggle against sin, you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding your blood. [5] And have you completely forgotten this word of encouragement that addresses you as a father addresses his son? It says, “My son, do not make light of the Lord's discipline, and do not lose heart when he rebukes you, [6] because the Lord disciplines the one he loves, and he chastens everyone he accepts as his son.” [7] Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as his children. For what children are not disciplined by their father? [8] If you are not disciplined---and everyone undergoes discipline---then you are not legitimate, not true sons and daughters at all. [9] Moreover, we have all had human fathers who disciplined us and we respected them for it. How much more should we submit to the Father of spirits and live! [10] They disciplined us for a little while as they thought best; but God disciplines us for our good, in order that we may share in his holiness. [11] No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it. [12] Therefore, strengthen your feeble arms and weak knees. [13] “Make level paths for your feet,” so that the lame may not be disabled, but rather healed.
Titus 2:11-14 NIV
For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. [12] It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, [13] while we wait for the blessed hope---the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, [14] who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good.

Great advice, especially those at the end. Praise God 🙂
@@caroezrarisalazar9632 Praise the Lord. I haven't had a reoccurrence since then. I hope it's gone. But, it is gout, so who knows. It likes to remain dormant for a while and then spring up. I just wasnt sure if it would ever go away when I was batting it for months. God is good.
Thanks
