Hey^^
(2:50) None of the literature I've come across describes oxypurinol as an allosteric inhibitor (non competitive inhibitor). From what I've gathered, most likely, the allopurinol is transformed to oxypurinol, which reduces the active site of the xanthine oxydase. The oxypurinol then reorients itself in the active site to form a very powerful non-covalent bond with the reduced molybdenum. Since oxypurinol still acts in the active site, I don't think it qualifies for non-competitive inhibition.
This channel helps me a lot, thank you for the videos ! (-;

ohhhhhhh
But why there is no medicine which can totally cure this ?
Just like arthritis, it can only be managed. I think due to the nature of the human joints
@@chukwudi_valentine is there any reasearch ongoing regarding this
@@black_shadow_295can't say. Really
Medicine can’t cure everything yet! Most diseases can only be managed and not cured!
It can be prevented by reducing the purine diet.
