- I show you how to fix a Chromecast with Google TV Remote controller that is not working properly. Maybe you have one button not working (power button, volume buttons, source button) or several buttons or maybe the remote has a delayed slow response or other remote issues.

Holy crap. It worked! It actually worked perfectly. The last tip about removing the batteries, holding the power button for 15 seconds then spamming all the buttons and slapping it a few times on your hand is a life saver. Couldn't pair the remote as press and holding the home and back button did nothing until using your last method. Took one try then it worked like a charm. Many thanks...You're a legend, bro!!

I felt stupid doing this but it worked for me after the first try!
But the problem is that my remote is not working at all. This one seems to work to love to the menu. My remote doesn't do anything. Changed the batteries and still nothing happens.

It looked like the Google Assistant button was stuck on, so I tried to disassemble the remote, but was struggling to do so.
After a couple of rounds of button spamming the light on the remote no longer stayed on when I inserted the batteries, and all buttons are working.

Did not realize until seeing your video where Chromecast had setting options. Was able to add a roku sound bar for my volume and tell the power button to correctly shut off power on my samsung tv correctly. I got a new Sony TV and now prefer the Google TV over Roku. Happy!!

Can't believe it worked! Now I can pair the remote. Must be by holding down the power button without batteries some type of internal memory get cleared. Just a guess

All i did was unpair my remote using Google Home app and then pair it again… and IT WORKED!!!!!

Scroll buttons still didn't work after this. So I tried holding down for 10 seconds on the chromecast itself until it blinked yellow and it worked!

Thanks I was able to get the volume button but I see issues with input button , when I click I see all inputs but I can’t navigate among them .. not sure if it’s software issue since I have Philips TV around 5 yrs old
Guys, just a random tip here if you're Chromecast remote is lagging, so when you press left or right and there is a noticeable delay...I ordered a small hdmi extension to put the receiver in view of the remote control instead of being behind the TV, this worked instantly. Now there is no lag at all. This is a design fault by Google.

Asking the rocker to go right was not working at all. After repeating the procedure the suggested 6 times, going right works -- but I have to press and hold down the rocker to go right (other directions work as expected). I wonder if compressed air would help clear the connections. One commentator below had to crack open the plastic casing.

The last method worked for me. Of taking the batteries out and whacking all the batteries. Looks like it was a speck of dirt that may have been dislodged. And the remote is working now. Hopefully will stay like that. Thank you

This didn't work for me but I wanna know why my back button would just stop working? it was the ok button originally and I power cycled the chromecast and now the ok button works and the back button doesn't. Why would it switch? Can I save this remote?
What happened if the control was fried with batteries? Can I buy one to replace the original one?

I repaired my remote and changed the batteries and checked for updates. The directional pad works in apps but not on the home screen. Any ideas?
Ran a restart. Now directional pad works on home screen. Some apps open. Some don't. I'll try deleting and reinstalling?

remove batteries and hold power button 15s worked for me. the remote was dead before that, no lights, couldnt pair it, , and i had tried cleaning batteries, new batteries etc without any luck.

Mine works normal apart from it drains my batteries really quikly to the point that i have to take them out after using it i went through 6 pairs of batteries in a week?
Just give the video a try. U may have a stuck buttons thats constantly held down causing the drainage issue.
