My remote just remotely stopped controlling everything. I watched your video and as I was doing the phone part, it said my remote had an update. Fixed it right away. Mind blowing that Google would just push an update that makes your remote useless. I was able to figure out but makes me wonder how many else have this issue but can’t figure it out since they can’t use the remote!

It really help. My remote was uncontrolled. Its keep scrolling and suddenly click on any button. I reset it until i see the white light on the remote and pair back to the chromecast. It really work . Thank you so much 🥹

I actually had to restart my Chromecast with Google 4K to cuz before it wasn't showing the new Android 12 update. But once I restart my device and I went back to my system and check for updates the update was available. I don't know if you know this but if you have the Google TV app install on your phone. You also can use that remote that shows up in your notification bar.

My remote batteries only last 2 days, 3 at most..... AFter resetting, everything the soution was a third party remote

I'm trying to set up the power and volume buttons for my TV on Chromecast remote. When I go to Remotes & Accessories -> Set up remote buttons, it just goes back to the homescreen. Does not work. I even factory reset my Chromecast. When I hold down back and home, nothing happens and it never enters pairing mode. The remote can however be used to change volume, mute and power.

@@UpgradeGuyTech Hi UGT, The battery is Energizer. This is the 2nd remote giving me this problem. i basically rely on the LG remote to navigate on the Chromecast.
