- Glasgow Central (Scottish Gaelic: Glaschu Mheadhain) is one of two principal mainline rail terminals in Glasgow, Scotland. The station was opened by the Caledonian Railway on 1 August 1879 and is one of nineteen managed by Network Rail. It is the northern terminus of the West Coast Main Line (397 miles (640 km) north of London Euston), and for inter-city services between Glasgow and England. The other main station in the centre of the city is Glasgow Queen Street.
With just under 33 million passengers in 2017-18, Glasgow Central is the twelfth-busiest railway station in Britain, and the busiest in Scotland.[5] According to Network Rail, over 38 million people use it annually, 80% of whom are passengers.[6] The station is protected as a category A listed building.[7]
This makes me want to go back to Scotland again.

Ah if only I had a pound for every time I've trooped through there, so many memories of arriving and departing to and from gigs, holidays, jobs, you name it.

Take a good look at the structure of this station. The original features of the station that are still recognisable, will not be there for much longer. They are going to “upgrade” which usually means modernise all original features out of it to make it look the same as every other spoiled, uninviting, unwelcoming mess they’ve made of other stations they’ve violated. Edinburgh’s Waverley Station is barely recognisable from how great it used to look. I hate going in there now. They are going to put into Central Station, a “Multi faith room” (mainly for frequent customers of Ali’s Snack Bar). They’ve spoiled Queen Street Station, now they’re vandalising Central. Soon Scotland will no longer be recognisable as a part of Britain.
