    I think this video is well done. Your explanation is very easy to follow, and I think you covered all the important parts.
    I had no idea the world building aspect of the game was that detailed until you showed it.
    It is clear now that this is not just a game for battles, but there is a lot of things you need to prepare before you go out and pick a fight with the enemy.
    Thank you for all the information you shared.

    Thanks for your tips it will helps me a lot in my future campaign. Just a thing about the group of army I think it’s always better to have 2 little army then one big cuz the damage is better when a enemy unit is flanked by another squads when attacking a squad

    Haven't got this yet, leaning toward a wait till Steam. However, very helpful. I'm impressed with the detail and nature of logistics and infrastructure in this. I think one of the more compelling things is the RPG element of building out your leaders and armies like characters. Also, the leadership management and development part: all your leaders can't be great at everything. From the Departed: "What can I use you fuh" in best Massachusetts, Boston accent.
    The winter stuff tracks well with the history, see Trenton and Princeton.
    For those not aware, Highly recommend the first book in Rick Atkinson's Revolution Trilogy: "The British Are Coming" It does a great job of laying out the plight of the early American effort and some of the shortcomings of the British - leaders in wrong places, follow-thru. Overall importance of leadership and infrastructure.
    Hope the devs read this.

      Waiting for the Steam release is always a good choice. There are definitely some mechanics in the game that are very well thought out, while others need some more work for sure. I will have to check out the book.

      Just saying incase actually having it on steam is your hold out point. When it’s released on steam, they will be emailing keys to get the game on steam

    Thanks for making this vid.
    I would suggest a few minutes to discuss production queue management. The correlation of leasing production facilities on the HQ screen and them showing up on the queue screen. I see a lot of new players adding 3 items like ammunition, cannon, and muskets to build and leaving the screen. There is no explanation about the green and red icons needing to be adjusted to actually build those items and all your production is only making the first item if left alone.

      As the game progresses and gets closer to a steam release I might put out some guides specific to the different parts of the game. This is a great idea that I will definitely keep in mind for a future video.

    Great vid been watching your vids closely a lot of what is in this vid i am already doing. But have learnt a lot from watching your vids.
    i do have a gripe about the whole extra cover bonus from holding, i believe this should be a firepower bonus not a cover bonus the whole front rank kneeling was to make so the entire company could fire at once delivering a much heavier volley than normal without having to stretch the company into a single line, meaning more firepower while staying compact. Some of the choices they have made in this game i find a little counter intuitive, but i am loving every minute and in my opinion this will be potentially their best game yet. Keep up the excellent work and thx for making this :) i am learning loads :)

    Do NOT underestimate the native americans when puting your army together. They have amazing speed and stamina stats. They are also disposable which makes them great shock troops for breaking open forts, wiping out flanks, and chasing down routing troops. 320 native americans charging in to 120 redocats will crush the unit in seconds and youll have plenty of stamina to run away from the rest.

  • @stephenshields7449

    What I have noticed is in my massive battles when they land 6k troops in a sea invasion is this: the AI will sometimes will try a frontal attack and when that doesn't work they will take almost all of their troops to the flanks even if that is all the way on the edge of the map. This happened to me in a wooded area where it was hard to see them but I opened up an area to let them in and then shot them in the side and front and one unit after another would come in a then route, it was difficult because I wasn't expecting it but then in the next big battle they did it again. I have noticed that even in fort battles if they have too many men to man the fort they will come to you and I just play a defensive battle with my cannons on the front line. The issues with such a large battle is that they can charge your cannon when you are not looking and route your men, but you can re mount those cannon with other troops maybe a non combined group of 100 or so. So to sum up be prepared for flank attacks, and the AI is very aggressive so they will almost always come to you. Kill off their infantry, save your cavalry, then move your cav behind their guns approach their cannon with infantry from the front and then charge their cannons with cav from behind, works every time. But my number one tip is after a battle pause it right away and take each of your units (which hopefully you circled around your target doom stack) and target a different one of their units and they will surrender in droves. I have doom stacked wiped three of the four massive battles I have had. It is a good game! Keep up these videos, I can't seem to figure out how to re activate stored ships?

    • @Quickslvr_Gaming
      @Quickslvr_Gaming  7 місяців тому

      I have noticed this too in the larger battles that the enemy will continue to try and move around your flanks. It's why I don't like combining too many units because I like having the extras to continue protecting my flanks and then wrapping around theirs.
      Pausing after a major battle is super important as you said. I haven't mastered the campaign map micro yet, but I will try that out next time to see if I can get more of the enemy to surrender.
      To re-activate a stored ship you go to the port you wish to activate the ship at, and click on the raise regiment button, select ship, and then choose whichever ship you have stored as the ship you want to re-activate. You then have to choose an officer and man it with guns (that you hopefully have in storage). Then hit create and it will show up in your port.

    Thanks MUCH for all the GREAT info in this video..!! i am having trouble figuring out how best to move the units, both in the area map and in the battle map. i can move single units mostly like i want them to move, but moving multiple units doesn't work very good for me. How do you get into MELEE? i have had 3 or 4 units on top of a British unit, but they never seem to Melee, and even have a couple of my units Rout, despite a 3-1 advantage. Can you make a video of how to click and move the units, both in the area map, and the battle map? Please...? What is double-clicked? etc? With the minimal "help" lessons in this game, it'd be REALLY helpful to know for sure how to best move the units on both maps. Again, thanks for this great info in your video..! And i'm looking forward to a "real" if "unofficial" Help Lesson.... Thanks for your help..!! Dennis Loop

      This is a great idea. I might do a video like this closer to the Steam release as I am sure things will change drastically before then.
      Melee can be tricky. I find you have to be careful how you click as you want a red line from your unit to the enemy instead of a blue line. The British are also better at melee due to having the Brown Bess Rifle which has a bayonet. Regular Civilian Muskets do not have a bayonet and have a terrible melee rating. Militia are also worse in melee than Fusiliers or British Line Infantry. In order to have a relatively equal footing you really need US Muskets for melee. You also need to make sure your unit has high condition and morale.
      I'll try to make some more guides in the future.

    Great advice, but it seems like a Christmas wish list. I struggle for funds, weapons ammunition, etc. cannot build building for lack of resources and over a few game months I run out of everything and the British are swarming with reinforcements, and this is all on normal settings. The developers also need to work on Corps level command although it was Napoleon who brought the corps system in.

    • @Quickslvr_Gaming

      You have to be aggressive when selling. Fur Traders, Textile Weavers, and mining are great ways to make money. If you capture enemy ships you sell those and their cannons. You have to be very careful on what you spend your money on as it can definitely be tricky, but you can definitely do it.

    I wish Total War would go in this direction.
    - But I will settle if Ultimate General keeps this up! They are getting better and better at making these games!
    The resource acquisition and then production thing, the real time campaign map, logistics, you can put together your army, choose its commanders... It looks good!
    - There is room for improvements on the battle visuals and modelling of the units to true scale, but I think it's going in the right direction!

    • @Quickslvr_Gaming
      @Quickslvr_Gaming  6 місяців тому +1

      Yeah I am really happy with the direction. Obviously certain things can be better, but every game they put out seems to be growing in scope and scale. I am currently playing Total War Napoleon and I keep thinking "Man... I wish they had this mechanic from Ultimate General" lol.
