After watching your videos I started feeling guilty when sending applications (CVs, cover letters, etc.) I could have put muuuch more effort on 🙈 Re-writing my CV, updating my LinkedIn, reflecting on my strenghts... all these are now on my quarantine to-do list!

Rosie- your videos are so concrete and to-the-point! I appreciate your work very much and it has been instrumental preparing me to seek out my next role. Concerning the importance of a header what is your reaction/ impression of a business headshot (like a LinkedIn photo) in the header?
A photo on a CV/resume is VERY location dependent. In Australia, New Zealand and the USA you wouldn't include one, but in France for example it would raise a red flag if you didn't. Find out the norms for your country and follow those.

My brother lied on his CV and landed a job in a company in November last year. A month ago, they promoted him.
I wouldn't want to carry around that guilt and fear of being found out personally - must be a values thing!

I'm really curious how you write a headline if you're only just starting your career or are still exploring your career options. I'd love to say I'm a specialist in XYZ or known for something, but with four years work experience it is hard to make a definitive statement like that.
You could use the passionate approach with something like 'Strategic Marketing Manger with a Human Touch- passionate about all things team development, human resources, diversity & inclusion' - of course switching out your job title!
Hello Rosie, I have binge-watching your videos. Thank you for the excellent content. I hit the ceiling of my career path as a staff member, and I do not seem to move up to a low-level managerial position no matter what extra steps I am taking. I also cannot land an interview to save my life! I would love to have the chance to have you review my resume to let me know where I am going wrong! #badasscareers :)

@@ProfessorTanyaSpeaks Hello Tanya. Yes, I always ensure that I use the same keywords. My field is a little different because I am in the higher education public sector and in a unionized environment which makes the process more complicated.

In the 4 jobs that I've had since graduation, I lied on my CV for 2 of them. Even when my last company used a "professional" screening company, they never caught me. I exaggerate what I did, lie about my responsibility level and lie about the number of reports I have had. Way to go!
