- Its been in the high 90's for days now with no rain for now 17 days. So lets walk and see how my gardens are holding up. Can we get them through the summer again this year?

Hi Cathy! Great to have you back! I’m on the mend ❤️🩹 too. I was extremely sick and in pain for over a year and I had to have emergency surgery but I’m recovering now! Thank goodness!!!❤

Nice walk in the yard. It's super hot here in western Iowa. Flood warnings and heat advisories happening....it's easy to want to throw in the towel about watering but i just cant give up. It's worth it in the end
Hi Mr Tom! Thanks for the garden tour. Im surprised that you don't have mulch around your plants to help with the drought conditions. We have been having SO much rain around here . Im using mulch to help with the weeds, they're outta control. And yes, you know that im a believer. I thank Father God every day for giving me the strength and stamina to get done as much as i can. My husband used to have a really hard time breathing in any hot or cold weather. He had severe copd. Be careful Mr. Tom being out in the heat. My garden is burning up too. I’m watering but not really enough. Our water and sewer rates are beyond ridiculous, so I’m praying for rain and for you too Mr. Tom. ❤

Mr. Tom, the vine behind your collards with the whorl of 5 leaves that turns bright red in fall is Engleman's Ivy. I just got in from weeding and puttering. We've been 95 too, and we are just east of Chicago. It was scorching. Sure was.
Mr. Tom I'm in lower Alabama, what part of Bama are you in? My blueberries are winding down now but the good Lord sure blessed us with abundant harvest. In the morning will probably be my last picking and the birds can have what's left. Growing a summer garden in this heat and humidity in south Alabama is tough, but I sure enjoy eating from my own garden. God is good , all the time God is good. 96 degrees here in Kentucky today been that way for 7 days straight, did get a couple of good rain showers was good for my garden thank God for the rain
Thank you, Mr. Tom! Yes, I am a believer, too. I'm slowly healing and getting stronger, but there are still many things I cannot do - Some, I may never be able to do again. However, just knowing our Father is with me gives me the strength to carry on. As I said before, I can't garden right now, but I so enjoy watching your grow and flourish! I find joy in every day, and in everything I can do, be it sitting in my porch swing, reading, or sitting outside with my chickens. In side, I have the company of my son, our cat, books, tea and my internet. I'm never alone and never lonely, and even in my most painful of days, I'm happy. Who can really ask for more than that?

I bought several garden bags and I have them sitting on my table in the back and I planted several things. I have potatoes squash tomatoes zucchini peppers and cabbage growing. Like you said it keeps us moving and gives me something to do besides housework. I just love the different areas where you plant your garden Mr Tom. God Bless and take care. Good evening Mr. Tom. It's been hot here in Colorado too! 96 and 97 the last couple of days. But,Colorado is much less humid. This isn't a normal June. Much warmer. But I guess the whole country is feeling the same.

You have a Beautiful Fig Tree! My little grandma used to give us grands a nickle for every little carton we’d pick for her! We’d climb on up! Then she’d make homemade Fig Preserves! Always nice to have around.❤

Mr. Tom i was wondering if youve ever done hardwood floors piecemeal? Landlord gave permission. So I've been removing old dry rotted rugs and pads and scraping up the 24+ years worth of lime deposits and dirt and mold that's under it.( Previous tenants hid the roof leaks ) There's a LOT of paint drops and arcs, too. I can only do a small section at a time. I can probably sand it clean with a hand sand block. What would you recommend for coating afterwards?
Im not worried about how it will look as it's from mismatched wood from 1946. I prefer wood over carpeting any day. It's much easier to sweep and mop than drag out a vacuum that never seems to clean completely.
The collard/ pepper planters ...you are doing fine with. ... The rest of your different areas & volunteers are doing better than expected. Yes. Cherry maters and salad that's fairly tasty.
Blueberries...yes they're smaller but still nutritious.
Meter spins are going up here, too. We were in a "flash drought" now we're just in a plain old drought. Some parts around here are in moderate drought. With the continued heat, things are still looking heated.

I’m watching from northern Indania. Been in the 90’s but last night we had rain come thru an it in the 70’s. Got to turn off the air conditioner ! My cucumbers are going crazy just now I’m getting little tomatoes, tiny green beans and little sweet peppers. Hopefully next couple weeks maybe I’ll be able to get some tomatoes that I can eat lol

Today I had to cover it(small garden😏) from the sun last two days. It's been in the 90's here in SE Ohio. I've been thinking of getting one of those soaker hoses(not sure what they're called). Maybe that would be easier for you also to help keep your blueberries watered? Less water waste I'm thinking🤔? I know what you mean about the water &electric meters$$$😬. I was able to get in a budget plan with the power company, but the water company cuts no slack at all with any such plan. Yes, I've been having to water garden twice a day, same as last summer. I thought of you&bought a curly leaf kale plant and it's doing great in this heat so far. Well, Mr. Tom, I know my comments are always long🤭😏, but so good to see you out in your gardens. You be careful in this heat, sorry, not bossing you, I need to watch it also. It is not always good to dwell on our troubles, but instead dwell on our blessings and other good thoughts. So like you said if there is something that you love to do, then do it. I love rides so take one now and then by myself. I also love to read books, email friends, go out for ice cream, read scripture. That is just a few things. Take care and keep those good positive thoughts going. Find a few scripture verses and claim them as your "go to" verses during these days. Write them out on cards and tape them up around your house where you will see them the most.
I was watering my peas and okra and when I sprayed one spot I thought I saw rats scurrying. BABY BUNNIES! My bunny friend made a nest right in my pea patch. Ha! I helped her during the drought last year and she`s out there every day and I saw a male bunny recently. I noticed it stomping its feet at me a few days ago. It must have been trying to scare me away from the nest! I had seen mama bunny sneaking around my garden but she has her own red ripper peas all under my fruit trees. But she wasn`t eating she was feeding babies.
Awe🐇smart of them to build the nest in the garden🤭. How cute, but what a predicament. Awe🤗❤️🙏.
