tell your dad he did a great job. things are looking good. it won't be long before you start the rebuild. I can't wait to see what you do with it. 😎💚💙👍👍🍺🍺🍻
Its always nice to start whit an empty boat. Then you know everything is good in the end. And no surprices later. Keep up the good work. I have restored/rebuilt 5 steelboats and it is nice when you are ready to use them.
You should really get or rent a Dry Ice Blaster, with such a big job and all those nooks and crannies, the money spent vs the result and time saved should be well worth it.
Waiting for a less humid period in our lowlands, makes you an optimist. Other optimists are Noach and admiral Tromp ('t Sal waerachtig wel gaen). Or Elon Musk. Great company bro.
Well done. What fascinates me about the boat is the wave diverter at the bow. I would have thought there would be a large hole in each gunwhale to allow the water to wash overboard, but that does not appear to be the case. Will you change her name eventually?
The name will change FOR SURE. just not there yet. about the holes in the gunwale, Should I make some? now would be the time... they give to a channel that flushes to the sideways, but you're right not very effective. on the other hand I doubt ever to be sailing her in this rough sees...
@BoatProjectY Hopefully you will not get in high seas but sometimes when you are in a shallow area with wind against tide, combined with the wake of a fast moving tug, you might get some water over the bow but of course the choice is yours. Perhaps having a word with people with similar sized boats might be a good idea?
Great progress it's nice your Dad has been helping you as well as family it's definitely helping you make alot of progress

my wife is an architect, and she has good taste ;) so I'm sure she'll come up with a stylish modern/classic 1966 look.
