Hi! New follower. I’m 48, my one & only child went off to college this year & im getting used to a new way of life. Your video really helped me prepare for all that bullet journaling is and can be for me. Your descriptions are wonderfully helpful and your presence is calm which I need. Thank you for helping this old dog learn a few new tricks! ❤
I like how clearly you structured the video and how on point your explanations where 😊 Personally the most important part for me with bullet journaling is reflection and writing down my thoughts, feelings, ideas etc. My bullet journal looks nothing like yours, has no consistent themes through a month or pretty weekly spreads. It's a chaotic collection of different spreads, brain dumps and other things, I need to get off my mind. But that's the beauty in bullet journaling: you create what you need and what works for you. And I still find it helpful and inspiring, hearing other people talk about what works for them 😊
Great summary! I've been bullet journaling about 1.5 years and it's been sooo helpful for me. I'm definitely more organized, it's helped with forming new habits, but it's also helped me being more creative. I've always liked art, I used to paint with my grandma when I was a kid, but it's something that doesn't come super easy for me. I'd stare at a blank page or canvas and talk myself out of trying. Now, I'm doing at least a little bit of art every single month and I've been surprising myself at how well some of my paintings and drawings have turned out.
Hello, I'm just starting out in the bullet journal world. It's January already and was given a 2024 planner that I want to create it the way I want. Even if the calendars are already made. I really enjoyed your video. Thanks for the helpful tips.😊
A wonderful video! You made it very clear that a bullet journal don't has to be artsy (especially referring to the original idea) but can be. The only point I miss are the collections from Ryder Carroll. Next to habit tracker ect often seen on yt one can also use brain dump pages or journal/ taking notes on a specific topic for example on the last book one read or for work or school. And then an index come in handy. I like the idea on not having thousands of sticky notes and random papers with notes but just one BuJo. Also (as said in a different comment) reflecting and adjusting is a big thing, and the bujo gives you a lot of freedom for that.
Hi! I’ve been a Blue Sky planner girl for about six years now. Before that EC. I’ve lost my mojo & came across the dot planner styles accidentally. I love the flexibility behind this style. I’m not very artsy but am inspired by some simple designs that turn out beautiful along the way. You explained the basics so wonderfully. You have gained a new follower & Im excited to watch your entire channel’s library and your weekly updates & inspiration. Thank you!
I didn’t realize how much I needed this vid 😂~ I’m actually excited about setting up my bullet journal!!! So glad your channel popped up in my recommendeds ~ sub’d 🤗
Loved your video. Thanks for taking the time out to do it. I'm new at this and I'm just starting to set my bujo up for the new year. Your video made me realize what I can do outside of the basic bujo format. It did mean ripping out a few pages but it was worth it. Thanks again and all the best in 2024!
Thank you for this helpful video, I really appreciate the background info and examples. I'm starting a bullet journal for the first time this year, even though it's currently more like a planner I drew out with monthly art pages. Still, I'm excited to use stationary from my favorite artists and have an aesthetic journal to reflect in at the end of the day, and maybe even cross off a few goals.
Hii, I've been very interested in bullet journalling, the art, the productivity combined really spoke to me..though I was overwhelmed tha past 2 years, so thank you for the clear guide
Hi! What a great video for us beginners. You were very thorough in your presentation of the bullet journal system. I have been a paper planner person for going on 7 years and am starting bullet journaling in April. I am going to start small so I can build the habit, but if I like it, I would like to incorporate design into it. Your art work is mind blowing! I have a hard enough time with a ruler and a straight line. 🤣 I hope to gain the courage to try something with markers. Drawing stick people is where I’m at. Sigh. Looking forward to seeing more of your videos.
WAHHH THIS WAS SO AMAZING! I’m really excited to start my bullet journal! I hope to use it to organize my thoughts and feelings to regulate my emotions and also to organize my life because I’m always forgetting stuff lol! I subbed like one minute in because you’re so calm and wonderful!!! I can’t wait to watch more of your videos along my journey!! 😍❤️
I found bullet journaling in 2021 and maaaan I fell in love! Since becoming a mother and not having time like I used to I haven’t had time so now I’m doing a ring planner method with inserts I’ve purchased… but I cannot wait to get back to bullet journaling in a different phase of life!! I miss it. 🫶🏼
Hi there! I just found your channel, and this video was super helpful at explaining everything. I've been thinking about getting into making a bujo, but I got a little lost and intimidated. I'm pretty bad at drawing, but your explanation made a lot of sense. I hope you keep up the good work, and are doing well! PS. Big fan of Throne of Glass, and loved your journal page!! ❤️❤️❤️
@@terram.9088 i’m glad it’s helpful! bullet journaling is such a personalizable hobby hopefully the video encourages you to start again! also yay omg ty! throne of glass is like half of my personality hahah
This was THE MOST helpful video for someone who knew NOTHING about where to start so thank you for existing 🫶🏽 starting my bujo journey this month! Any tips on which journal I should buy as a beginner? Or any grid journal like the one in the beginning of the video will be fine?
yay i'm glad it was helpful! i always recommend A5 (or any size) dotted journals like Archer & Olive, Notebook Therapy, and Kuma Stationery. All 3 are linked below my videos in the description boxes. However, if you're looking for something cheaper, you can find simple dot grid journals on Amazon (like Paperage.) Good quality, maybe a little thinner paper, but gets the job done haha. :)
I love esthetics and I love being productive, organized and creative. I'm pretty sure I am supposed to be a bullet journal girly. But I'm scared to start because I want it to be perfect and I know it won't due to lack of experience.
i totally get the need to be perfect w a journal but over time i’ve learned i’ll never actually get there haha. the best part ab a journal is that it’s handmade and messy. i have a lot of misspellings and spreads i don’t like but it’s all part of the process to make spreads i love. i’d encourage you to try it! even if it’s not what you imagined at first aesthetic wise, maybe it’d be fun and you’d get better over time ◡̈
Hey this is a great video, I have been contemplating bullet journaling for a long time but decided new year, may as well. What held me back a bit was perfectionism and fear of making mistakes or drawing bad things - any tips on how to get over that?
thank you! honestly i’m a perfectionist too haha and there was a while (and sometimes still) when i get in a creative slump just bc something i drew didn’t turn out how i wanted. but i think it’s good to remember that your bujo is like a time capsule and even if something isn’t perfect, it still holds memory. instead of focusing on making spreads aesthetically pleasing, i think it’s good to remember that in a year or two when you flip back through the pages you won’t remember the “mistakes” in your designs, but more how your life was at that period and how much you’ve grown since. this helps me stay motivated to keep journaling through times of low creative energy. hope it’s helpful! 🤎🤎
Hi! New follower. I’m 12, and I am so inspired and want to make a bullet journal but I don’t have a book for it and my parents don’t have my children money so we can’t afford it and I’m in Sri Lanka an Asian but thank you for your help❤❤😊
I loved the idea of bullet journaling but blank pages scare me. I’ve seen a few UA-cam’s offer premade bujo but I don’t need all the tracking pages. 😩🤦🏻♀️ So I tend to go to planners. Disc bound systems tend to work for me since I’m able to add and remove pages as needed.
Wow! You say in this vid that you were on the way to 10k subs - that was 4 months ago and you're already almost on 16k! BOOM! Congrats! This was a super awesome guide! Thanks so much! Can't believe I only found you now - can't wait to watch some more #Subscribed
i actually draw on sticker then glue it in! i have a full tutorial here if you're interested: ua-cam.com/video/iOcdERs6sCw/v-deo.htmlsi=rWr2q1OthiLupf5O
no worries! they’re all basically for planning ahead and writing any events or todos and any other things to remember but on different scales. a weekly log/spread is events on the weekly scale, the monthly on the monthly (like a monthly calendar), and the future log or yearly log is usually for 12 months. although some events may overlap on all three, i find it’s helpful bc i may not make a weekly until the sunday before. so having a place to store an event/to-do happening that week, like on a monthly calendar or yearly overview, is helpful to keep myself in check. it’s like a little migration system. lmk if this answers your question! :)
I got myself a bullet journal this week, and have been watching videos and tutorials the whole weekend on how to get started (trying to get inspired) and your video has been the most helpful by far! I want to use my bullet journal more for creative self-expression, gratitude journaling and reflection, and keep it as a time capsule. Thank you for your tips and examples - gave me so many exciting ideas! P.S. love your Alice in Wonderland theme & the letter you wrote to your future self idea! ❤
I really don't like your intro. Bullet journaling is not just about planning. It's about reflection and learning to live your life intentionally. Intention is at the core of the bullet journal.
