I like to use various watercolors in my paintings but my go to are mijello mission gold as well as schmincke (especially their supergranulating line) and i love the fabriano 100% cotton cold pressed paper!
In procreate you can go into the settings to turn off drawing with your finger so that you won't accidentally draw/erase with your palm^^

Ooh I think I’ve tried fabriano 100% and I did like it! I haven’t tried mijello paints yet though. And thanks for pointing out the procreate tip!

I like to make various lists of brushes in Procreate for different styles of art and also I like to make my own brushes and collect them. I also have been really enjoying the Staedtler fineliners after researching they seem to be the best overall (at least where I live). I’ll also recommend the Faber-Castell dust free erasers.

Ooh what are your favorite Procreate brushes!! I have a few watercolor packs that I've bought but I don't think I've spent enough time with them yet to really grasp how best to use them. My go to Procreate brush is the built in 6B pencil
I don't think I've used a Staedtler fineliner or the Faber-castell erasers-thanks for the rec! I'l have to try them out

I got the DavegrecoArt brushes when they were free a few years ago (not sure if they are still available)
      And on the procreate forums/folio
      The free
      Pablo Peruzzi Brushes.
Also some I made and some other free ones on the procreate forums. If you go back in time many are free and easy to import.
(Before everyone started selling them and using gum roads)
I particularly like most of the Pablo Peruzzi and from Dave Greco the DG_ (all Are labeled DG_ then the name…)
      Airbrush, under 1, smoothaspuddin, up3, and main2.
I also made a custom brush using a photo of the bottom of my dogs paw I like and modified copies of various brushes.
Always make a duplicate to experiment on and preserve the original.
Duplicate and move copies to custom brush lists!
There was also some free manga tone and stamps I like.

Thank you for sharing 🙏 I use mostly d smith watercolors nut have m graham, Windsor & Newton & Holbein & various others. Love 100% cotton, 140/300m paper - usually cold press. Have found several brands of inexpensive synthetic brushes that I love - Princeton is among them. I make lots of cards - use strathmore 100% cotton cards - that say cold press but are what I would consider hot press. Haven’t found any I like better.

Oooh I haven't tried the strathmore 100% cotton cards-I'll have to check them out! Right now I've just been cutting the paper myself. I've used the student line of Windsor and newton but only one of their professional tubes-I do want to try more of them eventually but am pretty happy with the paints i'm using now

A real good paper for cards and shareable art is
Funto Blank Watercolor Cards and Envelopes, 50 Cards, 5x7'', 140lb/300gsm, White, Acid-Free
My sons school use these when the teacher thinks they have started to show proper respect for their supplies and she helps the kids make at least one project a year on this sturdy card and the children even get to mail them because these are letter weight in the USA!

In a nutshell, the terms “hot press” and “cold press” refer to the paper's surface finish or texture. Cold pressed paper has a slightly bumpy, textured surface. But hot pressed paper has a smooth surface finish.
I do love 100% cotton with 300g/m2- 400g/m2, and I use french brushes and Brushes Da Vinci series...for Landscape I used rough cotton or cold pressed.

yes! I prefer cold press for sure, although some cold press papers have more texture than others. Which french brushes do you use? I don’t know if I’ve tried any. One of my travel brushes is a da vinci, but I haven’t used their regular brushes.

@@srsigdesigns = I have only 3 types of regular cheap brushes.
Kolibri French Watercolor Brushes are made of synthetic squirrel filaments to produce a brush that holds water exceptionally well and comes to an excellent result.
The travel (da Vinci) short-brushes are also very good, but they are to short for big Paiting, it can used for outside plein-air! or use for sketchbook.
But the 'best' brushes for watercolour are considered to be the russian-Kolinsky sables, with the softer squirrel quills !!!
Some of French brushes /Maestro-mix / Da Vinci artissimo/ ... are very expensive.
