    But what if she wanted a permanent base color? Amost all my clients need permanent. I always have to do all this extra work with where my base color blends into the blonde. Sometimes I even add an ashy demi to blend inside my foil.. I've never tried it this way... Thinking I just have to separate the lights from the dark permanent color and or glaze completely... (even if they are ashe tones). like use separate foils... I don't backcomb either. I like to paint on. But I like to do the base and foils at same time, then tone ... Very clever way to do it with a root shadow/ base after lightning ...Beautiful work!!! Love your personality 😊

    I love this! When you use multiple shades of toner, do you mix them together or apply separately?

    Could you lift the level up some on the root color if you want the hue but not the level?

    Beautiful! Question for you. I’ve found a good colorist. My question is my toners fade in one shampoo I’m doing a silver on my gray and dark gray on other sections. They both fade. I wait about 4/5 days before shampooing. Any suggestions on something I can do before the services? I do use olaplex treatments. Ty!

      @hairbykristijennings6648  Рік тому +1

      Good question!!!!
      There’s so many things that could effect this.
      Temperature of water, always use COLD not even luke warm….. what regular shampoo do you use daily besides olaplex? Not sure what line she uses but those colors are always tricky because they do fade so fast but 1 wash seems too much.

      @@hairbykristijennings6648 I use Verb. I know she uses the EQ toners and does a gloss. It’s just disappointing to lose the beautiful tones so quickly. Love your work. You’re just amazing.

      @@lydiaorcales3254 Some demi permanent colors are more opaque and sometimes have more longevity. Cold water works so well for maintaining color. It sucks in the winter, but it helps. The health of the hair, the amount of time the toner is left on, sometimes even hard water at home can strip color. Find a color safe shampoo and I normally always clarify my hair before any color process.

    would u mind sharing why u use each brand of toner? i kno u said the igora has high coverage, but i notice u using the demi by pm a lot too. i hav 6 months of school left nd formulas scare the crap out of me! there are soo many brands i dont kno where to start😭

    • @hairbykristijennings6648
      @hairbykristijennings6648  Рік тому

      They all vary so much….. pm the demi is much more translucent. So it’s perfect for a soft shadow or less coverage

    Doesn't look nice when top hair dark color bottom barley blonde, Ombre doesn't look good, or not looks natural.

      @@hairbykristijennings6648 unfortunately covering greys is not low maintenance. I'm in my 30s and we grey early in my family. I have dark hair and never colored my hair before I started greying. I tried to cover up with hair dye but found it too high maintenance. Now I find going ombre blonde makes my greys less noticable and less maintenance!

    LOL. the ombre look doesn't look good. It looks like a bowl cut or something, with a black. bowl on top and then a blonde fringe. I don't like it. I like the blended all over high lights more.

    • @hairbykristijennings6648
      @hairbykristijennings6648  8 місяців тому

      Everyone has a preference…. I understand why clients like this because with grey coverage it’s easier to manage just doing the grey retouch every few weeks Vs also having to retouch all the blonde and doing the full service every time….

      oh, ok makes sense. I am learning to do my own hair through UA-cam videos. I have had a few bad coloring experiences where I paid stylists to do my hair but it's not what I wanted. And they charge an arm and a leg for guessing work so I was just traumatized from the entire industry. I also experimented with a little blonde but it didn't match my face because I have dark, thick eyebrows which pop out and the blonde made me look silly/crazy. But I finally learned the technique of leaving my dark hair on my roots and mostly in between the highlight like a natural low light which adds dimension. Without the highlight my hair was looking flat and people were surprised I actually have a lot of hair, depending on how my hair acted in humidity or if I put too much oil in it which weighed it down. With highlights you can immediately show off the depth/dimension in the hair.. I have also had problems with hard water because I would oil my virgin dark hair and I had so much breakage so I only have it grown out to where my bra ends. So I am learning a lot on UA-cam how to do my own care, how to get rid of hard water, without relying and paying for stylists as of now. I love the shades EQ line it's working for me but maybe in the future I can try the Igora line. @@hairbykristijennings6648
