Hi I have quite a few clients with different amounts of greys - younger women in their late 30;s and 40's - not old ladies.......could you please do some balayage ombre's for these ladies please? :)
@@katherinelkay7947 It's not necessarily about effort. Stylists who aren't presenting for UA-cam typically have a designated amount of time they give each client. It's probably not enough time to do this. If you want a big project, the best bet is to find a salon that does free consultations, and then meet with the stylist and explain what you want ahead of time. That way the stylist can let you know what she's able to accomplish in one session, and schedule enough time for that session, and give you an idea of what the price will look like. You can also feel out the stylist, and decide if she's a good fit or not. You might need to wait weeks after the consultation for her to have a long enough time slot to fit you in. That's not a bad thing: It means she's in demand. (But sometimes clients cancel last minute too, so someone immediately having enough time isn't necessarily a bad thing either.) It also depends on the hair you walk in with. Certain hair types lift slower, or require multiple sessions if you want the hair to stay healthy. And if you have previous color on your hair, that complicates it even more.
K ombré is an effect you get with color. Balayage is the technique these hair stylists refer to. In the art world of course an ombré can be like a range for black to white and gray in between. See the correlation ?
Ombré is dark to light, balayage is just hand-painted highlights. It’s to make her highlights look more natural and not uniform light regular foiled highlights 😊
@@savannahsmith5401 I wouldn’t categorize balayage as hand painted highlights. Highlights and balayage have very different outcomes on the hair. Balayage does tend to give you lighter ends.

Very helpful video, I have a question for you, I color my hair to cover my grays., I have Dark Brown hair. I have been wanting to do a balayage (honey) to cover my grays how long should I wait to go in to get a balayage on colored hair?
What’s the point of doing step by step when u skip the whole two sections (sides)?? Love the end look but would like to see how u did the sides as well
What do you recommend for my hair that is super black .. I want to get highlights but don't want a brassy color... most salons where I stay don't know anything about coloring black hair
Zaida S. Is your black artificial color? If so, you can look into color oops to remove as much of the black and then have your stylist take you further with highlights. That’s what I’ve done in the past. Having black hair you should expect to do this over several sessions and you will likely deal with a lot of brassines. You can always make that work for you if you go the warm blonde route though. Good luck! Ps. If you do use color oops, make sure to rinse and rinse and rinse some more.
Usually if you have very dark hair like -5 , you can ask for a FULL highlight and a cool tone- ask for a specific level and make sure you express your concern about the strength of the lift - so no 40 developers even on virgin hair. That is of course if you have virgin hair. What she’s done here is a balayage on colored hair not virgin hair so don’t be fooled. She also mentioned her clients hair was a level 8! If you’re very very dark 3 which is black, then of course you can get your high lifted, and toned to a cool nine.
same. i dont really know what to do, my natural hair is super black and i used to have dark purple hair for some months then i dyed it black like 3 times to get rid of that color, it was permanent dye and last time i did it was november. im not really sure if the dye is still in my hair, i dont really have idea about hair color things lmao. and if i can put brown dye over it for some highlights, or if it would apply only to my undyed roots
Yes, probably the best kind of hair to highlight and balayage. You probably don't need higher than 20 volume bleach due to damage. Also, invest in your bleach and developer and don't buy the cheapest out there. Not all bleach and developers are the same some are so harsh they will fry your hair. What is worse than having one tone dark hair is having unhealthy bleach blonde hair that is brittle, feels like straw, and breaks. I would also do a time test on a strand of your hair, plus test the bleach to make sure your hair can take how light you want to take it. Do an allergy patch test also. The DIY route can be great if you are cautious yet wise about your decisions. Good luck if you DIY!
Beautiful balayage application and pattern (even though I was surprised watching you saturating the ends first but whatever if it works for you ! :p) the toner is great too, earned a new subscriber ! I’m craving to see more of these kind of technics, do u have an Instagram ?! 🥰

i’m only 12 and my mom wants me to dye her hair, and when i’m older i wanna be a hair stylist so hopefully this goes well🤞🏻
Did it?
@@leahostrowski231 she changed her mind and doesn’t want a balayage anymore 😃
Fantastic technique and result !! Well done!
I love it, you are the best !!!
This was stunning!!
do you think someone with really dark hair virgin hair could go a really light shade of blonde in one session?
My sister just started the process on me and my virgin hair took so good compared to where the black dye was
Of course you can if your hair is also healthy. I do it all The time!
Wow so beautiful, you did such a great job
Omg I need this, wish you were in Cali😩
This is the best one I've watched, thank you
Hi
Ashley, did you use the whole tube or partial tube of each of the three toner shades? Beautiful outcome! 👏🏼👏🏼
Teresa K thank you! ❤️ also I used equal parts!
The developer controls the speed the power is in the lightener but thus video was 3yrs ago we have learned so much more in the past couple years
Girllll we literally have the same techniques to the TEEEEE 😂😂

Beautiful balayage application and pattern (even though I was surprised watching you saturating the ends first but whatever if it works for you ! :p) the toner is great too, earned a new subscriber ! I’m craving to see more of these kind of technics, do u have an Instagram ?! 🥰
