Thanks for your straightforward explanation of trims. I own 2012 Tundra 4×4 for towing my boats. I went shopping for a Maverick to be my daily driver, and towing smaller trailer and outdoor stuff. I noticed 2024 rwd Tacoma SR was similar price and seemed like an amazing deal to the other Taco trims, so I bought it. It seemed state of art compared to my 2012 Tundra, I am loving this SR. However, I was a little surprised the towing rating was only 3500 pounds. It is the same engine, albeit detuned by 50 Hp, but it has leaf springs, which should be less squat than higher trims. I kind of wondered if the rating was to encourage upsale. Is it a big deal to retune and still seems underrated as the truck seems very capable. Still have my Tundra, just seemed surprised by 3000 pound reduction in towing capacity. Seems overly conservative, what do those after-market tunes do? Loving my SR either way, 225hp is not far off from my1999 F-150 that towed more too. Other trims are nice, but the hood scoop makes the hood bounce, I like the smaller screen on the SR and I never plan to rock crawl, just light off road.
@@mussersbowsboatsandscience6610 Thank you! Yeah we wanted to make some of the information easy to digest, but next time we’ll also add towing information! Glad to hear you are enjoying it 🤠
I want a new tacoma because they finally look decent and not like an insect, but the engine being a turbo 4 cylinder and them all being made in Mexico changed my mind.
@@MyDyerMaker You should test drive one! The way they are tuned you wouldn’t believe they are 4cyl - it’s just the way things have to be due to stricter regulations than in the past 🤠
Nice job!
@@atomicorang thank you so much!! 😆
