This is a video I made from the film A Beautiful Mind matched with the soundtrack from the movie Requim for a dream. A Beautiful Mind made a big impression on me and I hope you like it too. This movie is about John Nash, a great mathematician with schizophrenia. I didn't want to make very much clear about the film, and I tried to use not too much spoilers (for those who haven't watched the film yet)
This video is dedicated to all the people with a beautiful mind, but most of all a beautiful heart. This video is for the honest, truthful, brave, sweet and loving people in this world.

This movie is about the life of John Nash an Amreican physicist/mathmatition who is brillient... but suffering with a mental disorder that made it difficult at it's worst for him to distinquish reality from unreality. Some earlier treatments were heartbreaking. He later won a Nobel prize..

Thanks a lot. I am really glad that you think so. I am not sure about the composer either (I think that I should know who it was because I made this video, but I don't). You are right, it must be difficult sometimes to be surrounded by someone that has a mental illness.

The film is amazing indeed. That is very interesting! I have to admit that I had the same idea!!! But I have changed my mind. I am still not sure if I made the right choice, I have been always interested in the fact why people behave in certain ways and in people in general. @ctchampagne I wouldn't say that it is insulting for James Horner that I didn't use his score in this video, since I already used the original score in an ABM video ;-). It might be a bit over the top indeed, but in my opinion Requiem for a dream fits because it is so tense too. True, Jennifer Connelly is surely attractive XD.

This film is a stunning work of art. Yes, while it can be criticized for taking liberties with John Nash's true story, his romance, and his disorder. It's brilliant, in its own right.

That's what I'm saying. I think Requiem for A Dream is a bit melodramatic for this movie. I just don't get how it would play into the story line..... Nonetheless, love the movie & the song; just not together.
hmmm...Requiem for a Dream is a little over the top for this movie and rather insulting to James Horner's fantastic original score. But this is a great movie and Jeniffer Connelly is HOT!

No, actually her name is really Alicia. You should see the documentary film about him, it's called "Brilliant madness", I guess.
I don't know if drawing an umbrella on the sky was actually true, but apart of that - the whole film is a true story ;)

Of course I still like getting them, because I appreciate peoples honesty, but of course praise is just always better to hear ;-). True, living with schizophrenia surely is an accomplishment. @nextJW Well... that was a suitable mix in my opinion during the time I made it, which is some years ago. I can imagine what you mean, but I always wanted to use this song in a video and this seemed like something that could work. I also think that a song doesn't necessarily have to fit with the movie, but with your clipchoice. After all it is re-editing parts of the movie... But I do understand what you mean. This piece is perhaps... too heavy or at least over the top.
@DubaiGuy08 Many thanks to you for this wonderful comment! True, the film is absolutely one of a kind and I would certainly call it a piece of art too. You are right, the film didn't tell the story completely accurate, but then again it didn't claim to do that. For me it is a great portret of a wonderful men and mathematician. It also gives a beautiful insight in the mind of someone with a disorder. But of course people have the right to disagree with me on that ;-).

The stupid thing is that I don't really like this video very much anymore, but I still like how the music fits. I like my latest ABM much more, but nobody is really into that one. I don't call you arrogant. I don't know you, so I can't judge on that. I just think it is arrogant to say that in this case quality matters instead of quantity. I am not affected by the opinion of others, thank god I am not. But you said it with so much intensity, but I felt like saying that some people like it, despite your taste. You can't say that people with a different \ opinon have a lack of taste, because everybody has his/her own taste (
One more thing; why would I put another song? Only because you think that this song (which wasn't intended to be used on a fantasy film as I explained in the former comment) doesn;t suit well? I think it works with my video. Maybe not with the entire movie, but that wasn't my point. I wanted to put some parts from the movie together with a song I liked. If you don't like it; that is perfectly fine. But calling me dumb and stupid, with no sense of humor is slightly overreacted, dont' you think?
Why would you think that I have no sense of humor? You can't decide on that at all, after only watching one video I made. You can't even have a solid opinion after watching all my videos... I never saw myself as dumb or stupid and I don't think it is really appropriate to judge upon after watching a video.. This isn't the LOTR soundtrack, it is only reorchastrated for the LOTR trailer. The OST is from Requiem for a Dream. You'd better get your sources right.

A musical composition for such a mass.
A hymn, composition, or service for the dead *for as far as I could find :p I just heard the song once and I liked it very much and therefore I decided to use it. What makes you think that it should be specific? Just curious! (A) Take care and thanks for commenting :)
I disagree about that! But of course people don't always have to agree about something.. ;-) You are right IMO that it doesn't match with the movie completely, but I thought that it suited this video very much. When you capture some parts (like I did :p) I think it works very well together. (could have been better edited, but okay :p) but that might just be me..Thanks for your comment though ^-^

I have never seen Requiem for a dream I just found the OST to be honest, so I didn't even realize that Jennifer Connelly is in both things. Thanks for sharing that. You are right, the original soundtrack fits the movie better but I just wanted to make something different :).
Hi! I don't know if you remember that we had this convo, but I just wanted to tell you that I will start studying psychology in a few weeks too ;-)! The study I did just really wasn't as I expected it to be and after a long time thinking about it I realized that I wanted to study Psychology. I should have listened to my heart earlier! XD. I can imagine that you liked it so much, especially when you could probably recognise or realize things that a none Psycological student wouldn't see. Nor would be able to describe whether it was realistic or not. Do you think that it is realistic?

In the movie Nash says his teacher told him that he has got 2 brains but a half heart. She was right maybe but who could have known that he would have met a woman who has 2 hearts for a big love:) Great...
