Can you comment more on how it feels to drive the Countryman vs the X1, and which you feel is the better buy? Also, why do you feel that the manual transmission would be inappropriate in this car?
You have to move your head down for the head 'up' display. Hmm, not really a head up display then. Hate it when manufacturers just plagiarise brand names like that. If it was head up youd see the data projected on the windscreen not some display on the dash
The Head-Up Display actually is right from BMW. They offer the same thing in the 2er Active Tourer as its build on the new platform just as the countryman (not sure about the platform thing tho)
I have this in my F56 MINI Cooper, and I like it very much. I hardly ever use the analog dial to know my speed. It is lower in the line-of-sight than in a BMW model, but bear in mind the upside: if you need to replace your windshield, it's much cheaper to do so. It contains the very same information as in BMW models. It is effective!
This is not a mini.. although I appeciate your review , I still dont like the design of the car... I am an owner of a 2014 mini countryman JCW and I was impressed with the showing of this car at the NYC Car Show of 2014. When I seen this version, i was thrrown off by its size and hard line... Yes HARD LINES!!!!!!. That removed the authentication of the vehicle... and no more round vents... Why BMW, WHY? Well I call my dash board, the "Mini Mickey Mouse Dash"... Well I really think they need to move out of the lines of minis because this is now like the size of a sandan and it no longer resembles a crossover... Its an SUV... Thumbs down to design.. Thumbs up to the review.... BTW this suv as I will call it is too heavy to have the performance of that to the Mini Coopers....
