You like them for the same reason everyone else does..😊They re an outstanding band. They have done so many excellent songs too. They have a great blend of voices and harmonize well together. All can sing and play well as musicians.Musically sound so talented. Lead singer Glenn Shorrock here is my favorire. Others have followed in the decades they ve played.
You "like them" because they are such a catchy and pleasant sound. They don't beat you over the head with this song. I loved listening to this on the radio, driving around on a hot summer day. It always put you in a good mood, and you just have to sing along with it.
You like them because you appreciate talent, their great muso's and their harmonies are second to none. Great Aussie talent and one of the first Australian bands to make it big in the US
"Reminiscing", "Cool Change", "Lonesome Loser", "Lady (Let Me Take a Look at You Now)", "The Night Owls", "It's a Long Way There" and this one are the "must hear" songs by LRB.
Good morning Angela great reaction! There's another song that takes me back to my childhood. Hurt it on the radio a lot It's one of those songs that you don't remember but when you hear it It takes you right back to the 1st time you heard it you heard it.. At least it does for me lol!
This is my favorite LRB tune..... his me hard..... saw them live 3 years ago, great show even though no original members were in the band.... great show.
I love Little River Band! I understand what you're saying about liking them. The first time I heard them sing I was sold. Their voices are incredible and beautiful is all I can say. So pleasing to the ear. Hope you do more of their music, you won't be disappointed.
There's nothing here not to like, to be honest. Great vocals, fantastic harmonies, solid playing, and a song that is well written with an excellent hook to make you sing along and remember it. They were never flashy, but they were always right on the mark. I saw them in 1978, when their first album was still riding high in the charts and they were beginning to push songs from the new album. Picture, if you will, a hot August evening and an outdoor concert set in a football stadium. The sun has almost set and there's a cool breeze coming in off the Pacific Ocean. The lights on the North Shore mountains across the harbour add an atmospheric glow behind and above the stage. The stage is set at the goal line on the north end of the field and you're standing at the five yard line. You feel you could almost touch the stage from there. They are the fourth band of the day, with only one more to follow them (local band made good, Heart), at a magical all day concert. Little River Band takes the stage and they open their set with the gorgeous harmonies of Lonesome Loser. You are gripped by the sublime beauty of the moment and it cements a memory that you know you'll never forget. Song after beautiful song hits you in waves, perfectly played, well rehearsed, and those wonderful harmonies soar above it all. ♥
You paint a nice picture. I feel I have lost decades of my life wallowing in misery. Maybe that's why I didn't like 'em much at the time. Musicianship great. Precise and beautiful. But the themes were not nasty and dirty. Did you know two bands had singles in Australia in 1975 with similar titles. Little River Band had 'It's a Long way There' with beautiful voices harmonizing over textured gentle strumming. ACDC had 'It's a Long Way to the Top', with a singer sounding like his heart and soul was possessed by the Devil. I heard a critic once say you felt like you'd catch a disease just by listening to it. Both songs were ridiculously larger than life to my 12 year-old suburban brain, but the tone of their impression remains unchanged, in by 59 year old brain tonight.
@@mebeasensei The only disease we could catch from AC/DC was their love of Rock 'n' Roll, especially in those early years with the great Bon Scott. Like my native Canada, Australia and New Zealand were filled with fantastic bands on their way up, each of them very unique in sound and approach. Men At Work, The Angels, Split Enz, and Mental As Anything, to name just a few. We grew up in a magical time for music, you and I.
I am 54 and remember this song as a teen...whenever I listen to this song without any distractions it still moves me...particularly in light of relationships that didn't work out in my past. A moving song is proven over time and 40 years later, The Little River Band has shown itself to be such a bright spot in 80's music.
Angela , I saw them LIVE in Florence, Al. in 1978......they were coming off the success of their Hit Single "Reminiscing" They had chart Success from their previous album "Diamontina Cocktail" Truly a talented group of Musicians and songwriter's for many years. My request is Reminiscing. Thank you. BTW, I have watched MANY of your video's and Your Love for Karen Carpenter does NOT go unoticed. An amazing Soul, she was....Thank you Chuck Fuller
They are soothing and safe. Lol There is no tension when you listen to Little River Band. There is no controversy in their lyrics. Most of their songs are whats called "Easy listening". They also have quality musicianship. They are a great band to play around the campsite when up in the mountains. They add to the peace and tranquility. Lol
CASUSE YOU LIKE THEIR SOUND AND THE HARMONIES MOST LIKELY ANGELA! :) A COUPLE BIGGGGG HITS WERE : HELP IS ON IT'S WAY, HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, COOL CHANGE, REMINISCING :) THERE YA GO BABY, AND YOU LOOK REAL GOOD TOO! STAY SAFE AND ENJOY!
A tight band with great vocals and a distinctive sound. You can take a chance on any of their music. Feel good, laid back Aussie musicians. Nothing weird. And it is OK to 'just' like it.
LRB are like vanilla ice cream. But the best vanilla ice cream on the market. Their production is faultless, their Melodies are catchy and their harmony’s are perfect. I have their collection CD in my car right now, and play it all the time because it’s just easy to listen to as I’m cruising down the road. I suspect people will still be playing their songs in a hundred years time because they’ve lasted 50 years already and they’re still very listenable. IMO.
I had the same reaction when I heard it the first time! When you try to explain why you like the song it’s hard to come up with anything, but it’s a great song nonetheless. I really liked your reaction.🙂
LRB is a good size rabbit hole to go down. They have a shitton of likeable sing-a-long with songs. You don't have to give us a reason why you like it cause we already know. It's just plain good stuff about human emotions.
I was gonna suggest Little River Band to you, you should look at Atlanta Rhythm Section, So Into you or Imaginary Lover. Or another of my guilty pleasure songs by Heavy D and the Boyz "Now that we found Love"
You have such a sweet beautiful kind spirit, please never change 😊 I would love to see you react to the greatest male singer ever, David Phelps singing O Holy Night (live) with Bill and Gloria Gaither in Bham Alabama. I know Christmas is past but this guy is really great and so are you! Stay you!😁 Jesus loves you!!!
It surprised me when you said you liked it at the end. Usually when you start fidgeting and adjusting things it means you've lost interest. I guess that rule is not always true. :)
don't know if you do Christian rock, but if you do you should watch the band "Skillet" do a live performance - of their song "Awake and Alive". and take note of the dummer -. make sure its a live performance,. txs
If you like the Little River Band check out this song (We Two). A different lead singer. I love Glenn's voice (the guy you have been listening to), but John Farnham is a much better singer. ua-cam.com/video/dxPILjZlLlE/v-deo.html
actually, you're reacting a little to fast to THIS one. You would have to digest a little, and do a little music appreciation on styles and genre to understand what is going on that you like but are unsure why. The secret to this piece is in the lyrics. Musically, it is not a loud or raucus instrumental showcase, as much as we love the good examples of those types of songs.. This is pure subtle nuance, the music draws you in to the heart, where the singer or songwriter is laying down a very poignant message. He is saying he is a little over his head, love can do that, and he is asking for her to "take it easy on his heart".

“Why do I like them” … harmonies… perfect harmonies
The Rhythm & Harmony being able to understand every word sung. I've listened 🎶 to Little River Band since the late '70's.
I am so happy you've found the Little River Band. Be sure to check out Reminiscing and Lady.
You like them because you appreciate talent, their great muso's and their harmonies are second to none. Great Aussie talent and one of the first Australian bands to make it big in the US
If you like that one you should check out Cool Change,Reminiscing or Lonesome Looser. Another one one those great 70’s bands! Thanks for that one!!!
Also Man on your Mind and Cool change
Or we two,lady
"Reminiscing", "Cool Change", "Lonesome Loser", "Lady (Let Me Take a Look at You Now)", "The Night Owls", "It's a Long Way There" and this one are the "must hear" songs by LRB.
Happy Anniversary
Most definitely all classics
A very underrated and overlooked band from down under. Cool Change and Reminiscing I would highly recommend
One of Australia's greatest gifts to the world , the Little River Band . Love them!
They are smooth and mellow I love them
Good morning Angela great reaction! There's another song that takes me back to my childhood. Hurt it on the radio a lot It's one of those songs that you don't remember but when you hear it It takes you right back to the 1st time you heard it you heard it.. At least it does for me lol!
Their song, "Happy Anniversary" has some great harmonies and a really funky groove to it. Also, "Hang On" and "Lady" are awesome.
This is my favorite LRB tune..... his me hard..... saw them live 3 years ago, great show even though no original members were in the band.... great show.
great song! great band! you're not weird for liking it or them, they are awesome!!
I love Little River Band! I understand what you're saying about liking them. The first time I heard them sing I was sold. Their voices are incredible and beautiful is all I can say. So pleasing to the ear. Hope you do more of their music, you won't be disappointed.
Little River Band was my first concert, 1978 in suburban Chicago, when I was 12 years old. Great memory!!
Couldn't listen to the radio in late 70s and early 80s without hearing this band. Esp like the songs "night owl" and "cool change". Btw..u look nice.
There's nothing here not to like, to be honest. Great vocals, fantastic harmonies, solid playing, and a song that is well written with an excellent hook to make you sing along and remember it. They were never flashy, but they were always right on the mark.

Hands down one of the best bands ever to come out of Australia. Tight musicianship, great vocals. "Cool Change" was one of my songs back in the day.
Oh memories great band seen them in concert .Enjoy
Wow one this goes way way back!
Great Harmonies !! Great band. One of my Favs... Luv you too...
I am 54 and remember this song as a teen...whenever I listen to this song without any distractions it still moves me...particularly in light of relationships that didn't work out in my past.
A moving song is proven over time and 40 years later, The Little River Band has shown itself to be such a bright spot in 80's music.
Great harmonies. Soothing and lyrical.
One of the best bands EVER!
Great song by a great band. Not only is their instrumentation good, but they have multiple good singers, who create nice harmonies.
You would love “ It’s a long way there “ by Little River Band. The remastered version!! Love your reactions!,
that is my exact feeling. I really like alot of there songs and can't explain why.
Angela , I saw them LIVE in Florence, Al. in 1978......they were coming off the success of their Hit Single "Reminiscing" They had chart Success from their previous album "Diamontina Cocktail" Truly a talented group of Musicians and songwriter's for many years.

Little River Band should be in the mix on any serious 80's play list
It's good to see a video of them play then you realize how good all of the guitar players at singing solos and hearing their harmonies.
Lol
Always loved LRB harmonies. I have no idea why they are not in the Hall of Fame.
It's a shame that their not. They definitely deserve to be in the Hall of Fame .
One of the all-time most underrated bands.
Love LRB. "Lonesome Loser", "Lady", "Cool Change", "Help Is On The Way".....
I cannot figure out why I like this song too so you are not the only one.
Brings back so many memories.
They are awesome in concert live, good dance song 💃🕺🎶👌😎👏
Thank u Chris n Rick✌😎
You like it. That’s enough because they are an excellent band.
I like them because they don't try to do to much, they just keep it simple, very talented group very classy
Good music that's why u like it 👌
it's the harmony which you like.....and it's a good song
Looks like it's time for a cool change.
"Cause they have great harmonies
CASUSE YOU LIKE THEIR SOUND AND THE HARMONIES MOST LIKELY ANGELA! :) A COUPLE BIGGGGG HITS WERE : HELP IS ON IT'S WAY, HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, COOL CHANGE, REMINISCING :) THERE YA GO BABY, AND YOU LOOK REAL GOOD TOO! STAY SAFE AND ENJOY!
beautiful reaction you actually made the song enjoyable
A great band period!
Easy band to sing to. Lots of great songs.
They are my second favorite band after the Bee Gees. Do Reminiscing. You are't weird, they were a wonderful seventies, male harmony band.
Living through heartbreak with these songs was something alright.
Maybe you like them because their songs are heartfelt, smooth along with good harmonies.
We Two is another terrific song by LRB. I love the line “Carousels and wishing wells were the things we loved”.
A tight band with great vocals and a distinctive sound. You can take a chance on any of their music. Feel good, laid back Aussie musicians. Nothing weird. And it is OK to 'just' like it.
Watching you always puts a smile on my face 😃, I still think you would love , he ain't heavy he's my brother, by the hollies.
Nice song and good reaction, Angela.
They have a lot of great songs! I know they're from Australia, but I don't know if they still perform! A lot of great bands come from Australia!
Thinking you like them because the music is simply good.
My fav from them is Reminiscing
Damn, I haven't heard this song since it came out. I didn't recognize it on your list.
The drummer plays precise...
LRB are like vanilla ice cream. But the best vanilla ice cream on the market. Their production is faultless, their Melodies are catchy and their harmony’s are perfect. It’s just the melody, the lyrics, the deep meaning (usually identified by so many) the style, the music arrangement, the changes. I don’t know.
Not weird to like them at all, they are an awesome band with fantastic voices!

C9z they're Aussies and Aussies are cool people.🔥💯😊🇦🇺👍😊
Your hair is beautiful, like the new look.
I was gonna suggest Little River Band to you, you should look at Atlanta Rhythm Section, So Into you or Imaginary Lover. Or another of my guilty pleasure songs by Heavy D and the Boyz "Now that we found Love"
LRB has a ton of great tunes.
"Lonesome Loser" from '78, their signature hit.
Talent 💲
it's the great songwriting. Anyone could record these and have a hit.
Great band that just faded out of memory for most people because radio changed format far to often.
Harmonies!!!
Harmony the original group was awesome together..
They were a "radio" band back in the day
Please check out "Reminiscing". It's my favorite.
Try it’s a long way there by LRB!! Remastered version, you will love it!! Trust me!
Australia's EAGLES
You need to check out more songs from LRB. I think you'll like them more.
It surprised me when you said you liked it at the end. Usually when you start fidgeting and adjusting things it means you've lost interest. I guess that rule is not always true. :)
I don't like them, I love them!!
Then do, "Lady." OMG.
ok kiddo, I have not heard this song in probably 35 years...
What kind of trip are you taking me on next?
Reminiscing?
Why do you like them. I ask myself the same thing. I think it’s just that they make you feel good.
Suggestion: Eddie Rabbitt & Chrystal Gale title track "Just You And I"
I don't know why I like you... I just do. :)
It's the EAGLES sound!!!!!!
Lady is another one you’d probably really like…
Two requests, single group: "Kyrie " and "Broken Wings" by Mr. Mister Pleeeeeeeeez?
Try “The Man in Black” great lyrics
Check out night owl by them.
This was why we fell in love, and you will, too. ua-cam.com/video/XBETVhHpcPk/v-deo.html
