I'm 20 and ever since quarantine, I have absolutely indulged myself in 60's to 80's music like I never have before. Little River Band has stood out to me like no other band in the world. I don't know if you use this account anymore, but I just want to say thank you for this video.
I was a teenager when this song came out. I am happy for you for discovering the Little River Band. They have so much "feel good" music. It always puts you in a great mood, and you just have to sing along with every song. Can you imagine growing up with so much music that made you feel incredible?? It was a great time, and we enjoyed life so much then. There was always something on the radio somewhere that would be "kick-ass" and we could jam to it. Great band. Great songs. Great times.

in the 70s a band with more than one singer was not unusual. Decades later, bands with no (decent) singer became common. Lonesome Loser, Night Owls, Lady are other great songs of LRB.

Each singer had their own strengths.

You're not far off with how they came together - no by the river but they all loosely knew of each other as friends of friends etc.
