  • Since my last walk around video this old girl has had some serious upgrades done. I try to mention them all but forgot a few. (Listed Below)The truck responded perfectly fine to the addition of the Turbo. Minimum blow by and no hiccups or fuss while giving her the beans climbing a hill or speeding to 70. I have a massive amount of power and tourqe now with the Turbo and is like night and day from when it was naturally aspirated. The combination of the Super 60 w 4" side exhaust makes this truck the loudest on the road around. I have a few more upgrades and updates I want to do yet so she's not done having money thrown at her...which she loves...cause she's a whore lol Seriously though lots left to do.

    That has to be the baddest 6.2/6.5 refurb I have seen in a while. It looks like you added a lot of new hardware over the stock setup. I have 2 each 6.2L diesels sitting in my yard; one with a BAE turbo kit and the other naturally aspirated. These engines have definitely been misunderstood and undervalued for so long. Great job and thanks for providing inspiration and insight on what is possible for these classic machines. 👍🏻

      Hey thanks! Everything basically just fell into place as far as the upgrades go. Whatever I thought of I did and got a pretty great end result I say. Ya just gotta keep up on maintenance and will be good to go. Visual and physical inspections of your rig should be natural by now to have absolute confidence all is to par. My newer videos are during doing more upgrades and after as well and are worth checking out.

    Great build. I am working in 6.5 build now. I was considering the mishimoto oil thermostat and larger oil cooler. You are first 6.5 guy I have seen actually incorporate one. Makes sense to me.

    • @TheAscendedMaster
      @TheAscendedMaster  Рік тому +2

      It's really helpful in the cold weather as it recirclates the oil back to the block bypassing the oil cooler until it reaches 185° to aid in quicker warm ups. It also increases your oil capacity quite alot giving the motor more available oil slowing oil breakdown aiding in longer engine life and reducing oil change intervals. I highly recommend it for all 6.2 and 6.5 builds.

      You need a drive pressure gauge if you want to know what’s really happening. Did you blow the gasket running the super 60 at 25 psi or was it a previous turbo? Kinda hard to call it the worlds most custom when it’s mostly kit bought. Should have built one about 15-20 years ago when there were no kits. The only way to do a square body turbo was with fabbing some parts. Like all the shit now in kits at quad star. I did it all to 2 different 82 trucks back in mid 2000s. You will get your feelings hurt on the dyno. Trust me. Best just to enjoy the seat of the pants dyno my friend.

      @@deltafreshrelics1660 Boost gauge & Pyro work well enough for now to tell me what's going on; later I'll add more gauges. Was using the Super 60 when I blew the Gaskets but I was full tilt doing 80mph 25psi up a steep mountain so she was well at her limit when it blew and I would expect that to happen under such extreme circumstances. The truck is very much highly modified. Everything is Ported & Polished from the Heads, Turbo, Exhaust, Intake, Valves are Deshrouded, Pump Inlet is Ported, Housing Pressure increased the list goes on. This truck is not like any 6.2 or 6.5 out there.
