I am a homeschool Mom and I was wondering if you had any tips or suggestions of resources/UA-cam channels for middle school composition. Specifically, the types of essays and writing styles/tips to best prepare for highschool writing. My son is in 7th grade and we have been focusing on grammar, word choice, ways to vart sentences, studying quality writing, and lots of reading, but next year we will be hitting essays hard. I have tried researching in order to reverse engineer the best types and style of essays to focus on next year, but I am encountering sparse and conflicting information. As a highschool teacher, what do you wish your students (or incoming Freshman) knew and what do you wish they had learned differently? I hope this question is not too off topic. I have enjoyed watching your videos, even though my son is only in middle school.
We should talk on the phone! (I love homeschooling :) ). Send me an email at my website and I'll send you my number. The best homeschool curriculum for what you're looking for is institute for excellence in writing. :)
I'm asking this question in the wrong video but I still wanted to know can you get the sophistication point without ever addressing the counter argument.
