We had that once, my professor made all the answer zigzag (so it was A, B, C, D, E, D, C, B,. A and so on) . One of my bottom-of-the-barrel mate trusted his gut and did this after answering few questions, finished the whole 50 questions in just 8 minutes, and got a perfect score.
Funny thing was the dummies got high scores because they were doing this, while the actual geniuses faltered because they refused to believe the professor would do such a silly thing. We ruled the class for that day.

They also get a whole 15 minutes of break after every class.

There’s also a trick that can work in math (or at least with what my teacher gives out). Basically, if it’s multiple choice, go with the answer that has all of the most common traits. Like, say that 3/4 of the answers all start with a 5, so the correct answer would probably be one of those three choices. Then, you can move on to the next part of the equation and just go through the process of elimination

Not so much as 'Common Sense' as much as 'Logical Thinking'.
Also, that *would* maybe help you,but ultimately, you *need* to read the passage to get the context of the word. I think the type of test shown in the video was the 'Reading Comprehension' type,so it's needed you read it to get the context.
For example,'Record' means a lot of things out-of-context,so you would need to read the sentence like 'He always had a record of being the aggressive kid in class' to narrow to its context.
      Context is Important.

I always eliminate the options that are too similar. If there are two options like carry and clench compared with two very different meanings, you know it isn't either because on standardized tests they don't try to trick you on that level. They'll put in answers that are common mistakes, but if you get it they won't make you choose between two virtually identical words. Works for almost every test. Most teachers put two options that are very similar and based on one common mistake, one option that's very wrong, and one option that's right. I've been pulling 90% and above on my 1000 level child psych college class quizzes without reading a lick of the material.
