Here I thought I was an expert in IKEA furniture shopping cos I’ve been constantly looking for new ideas for my home. BAMM! Reynard comes into here and show his more in detail on IKEA ‘luxury’ products. Gotta hands down to you, keep up with the videos Reynard! Such a big help!
Reynard - Could you do a video on home design trends that are timeless? Every 5-10 years new trends pop up, but I’m trying to build a home with pieces that will look good for a while. Stuff like Tuscan and all grey/white were once popular but now have been replaced with earth tones. Soon earth tones will get replaced with something else, etc. Really looking for something more sustainable.
I love the last item! Will definitely going to Ikea to get one set! I've been searching for nicely designed fork and spoon for months and finally! Thank you so much
Have mention here that if you like the look of the pattern from those woven bamboo shades onto the walls, use a clear glass bulb, not a frosted bulb. I did not know this either.
The door fronts on those Bestas look great but the alignment is all over the place. You have to adjust the hinge hardware to line them up. You can see that the gaps between the left two get larger as you go down and the top of the right door is not flush with the top of the unit
I think that there are so some good stuff but you need to choose well to get something that will last. We often joke with a friend that everyone has a malm in their home😂. Personalising them can bring up the cost significantly so maybe not worth it. Nice video 😊
One heads-up about the GLADELIG dinnerware, they chip really easily. We had these at work and many of them had chipped corners after only a week or two.
Just the content I need, there you go. Thanks so much for putting together this amazing gift. So happy to see you more often and I look forward to more of your content in the future
Yes. Solid Wood like the Ivar series for example. EKENÄSET for example is Solid Wood but Besta maybe looks "Expensive" but is still "cheaper and maybe not so durable" Chipboard. @@reynardlowell
@@reynardlowell Enjoyed your Ads attached to this Video.. Haven't seen these particular Ads.. I friggin LOVE Weinerschnzels.! Don't see them much anymore.
I am so glad I (the algorithm) found you. Your style and sensibility is close to mine. I am moving into a new home and want to redesign it. You are helping me a lot . BTW your Ikea pics are well curated compared to others. I am saving many of your videos.
I love the Besta unit you showed with Bjorkoviken doors. I'm considering getting it but am not sure of the dark brown/ black frame. Do you think it would go with white or walnut coloured frame...and how would that mix with other tones of wood that I have in my home. That's my biggest issue...not knowing what goes with what. Thank you so much.
They have the bjorkoviken in birch as well, pairs better with white frame. Otherwise if you go full walnut it will look great! I wouldn't recommend walnut with white frame around it, but you can look into having full walnut with a white top panel (or something else like marble?) for contrast.
@@reynardlowell As I am binge watching your videos (and trying to learn and get some ideas), I get your reply..and thank you for it. My main worry is that my dining room table is more of a warmer undertone wood ( not too dark but not light either) so I can not picture what would go with that so that it doesn't clash since my apartment is open concept. I'm thinking should I go with fully white Besta wall unit, darker Bjorkoviken (but is seems more of a cool tone), is light Bjorkoviken gonna go with my table. Ughhhhh it's giving me anxiety hahahaha.
I fell in love with the blue Gladelig dinnerware but just to let people know, the deep blue fades over time. It’s still good value considering the price point compared to getting the same handmade, but it’s disappointing.
IKEA furniture in my country are expensive. Would rather buy fruniture made out of real wood rather than the compressed wood from IKEA for almost the same price... the kitchen utensils, lamps and house decorations are worth to buy though.
What is your approach to foreign languages? Are you willing to be laughed about and ridiculed every time you are butchering another language with every word you speak? Or are you convinced that you do not sound "funny" as in laughable every time you open your mouth? What is your point of pointing out that people raised with other languages do not pronounce your language like you do other than letting the world know that you have a mean personality trait? Nobody pointed that out to you yet?
@@altenberg-greifenstein Chill out bro it's not a mean personality trait, I just think it sounds funny, there is no harsh feelings. Also I'm not Swedish FYI and I speak several languages. I have studied foreign languages and linguistics for over 5 years so I am well aware of trying to learn foreign sounds. Do you not think it's interesting and or funny when someone pronounces a word in a way you've never heard before? I've been in the situation countless times and even for myself just laugh when I am struggling with a word I know exactly how it feels. You just need to chill out and not take everything so seriously. Languages are funny things my guy and you can have a lot of fun with them if you just relax. Notice how I said, "It's funny hearing foreigners pronounce words", not "You're pronouncing the words wrong." I was not singling him out, nor was it out of bitterness and correction, It was merely a reaction of laughter to hearing people trying to pronounce hard words.
K, buy the stuff if you like the design not to impress other people. Nothing from IKEA is going to fool someone thinking something is expensive , especially after a year or two. If someone shops at IKEA they know what came from IKEA.
If you design your *home* in a certain way only to impress other people (who don't actually live there), then you have problems greater than badly ageing IKEA furniture.

Reynard, love your channel. Great ideas condensed, without all the gushy, sappy language. Very rational, and to the point.
I use the picture ledge for my spice jars in my pantry. Perfect!
Good voice and calm demeanor that is very appealing. Good pacing and well presented. Best video I've seen in a long time.

Not from IKEA😅
Would love to see a Video about the best Wood Products at IKEA.
Solid wood products? I'll put this on my list - IKEA have a few decent ones although mostly in Birch or Pine.

Excellent video, and some great suggestions.
Great content as usual
Amazing work, thank you for this!
This is fantastic 😀👍
Hey Rey! What’s that double headed black lamp behind you in the video?
Of everything shown, what I want to know is, where’s the textured cardigan from? 😂😂 Genuinely, where’s it from? 🙏
I got them from French Connection years ago.
What is the shelf unit behind you please Reynard???
lol the way you pronounce hans wegners with the w, i couldn't tell if you were actually using a w sound instead of the v sound or not
Great video❤
Thank you well explained and sourced.

Which software do you use to design rooms?

How do I find a replacement sliding door for this wardrobe?
Yes indeed thank you
Brilliant video!
Beautiful choices. You have a great eye. Thanks for some fab ideas.
Anyone know what that table at 2:00 is with the espresso maker and airfryer?
Thank you
What is your cardigan! :)
nice video
I have an IKEA 15 minutes from my house. It's awesome but also wayyy to easy to spend money there. xD
I got a lot of kallax at home. Does anyone know how to attach some doors that look Björkeöviken doors?
Prices would have been helpful!
Please include the prices.
What is the desk at the 0:53 mark?
Listening to foreigners trying to pronounce Swedish words is really funny. great video BTW!

7:24 Dejsa Lamp Ikea
Ikea has lost a bit of its appeal to me since their price increases across the board.
Hi ! Where is that wooden furniture behind you from ?
So no one cares that he doesn’t show prices?
Not showing them, makes the video timeless. And with things like besta it really depends on which sizes you choose
Nope, they're different in every country anyway.
What is the brand name and model number of the speaker @ 10:37 ?
🙂
🎉🎉🎉
Too many people (first language English-speakers included) say 'simplistic' when they mean 'simple'.
Probably the same people who are using words like "curated" to make normal things sound special when they are not.
@@altenberg-greifenstein Haha yes. I joke that I 'curate' the news via my twitter tweets.
To my every word is special 🥹
I bought a shoe cabinet and it broke in a year. Poor quality !
My parents had a white round table with chairs in the 70s . So this is far from a new designer style
Great video & presentation.
But don't say "simplistic" when you mean "simple."
Simplistic means dumbed down or oversimplified.
I only buy things that don't need to be assembled I can f up a hammer

Some yes. Others no. I’ve has many products for decades through many moves. Choose materials wisely & loose screws easy fix.
I have never hade that problem
I was thinking about doing an ikea bed frame hack with their bookshelves and the overall cost of the project is kind of ridiculous for some fake wood.
