  • Riding a Yamaha WRF450 fitted with a Rekluse Clutch -
Not sure how they work? Look at my clutch lever as I pause half way up the hill. I pull it in and change down to 1st gear then let the clutch out again and only use my throttle control to move the bike. No stalling the engine - No riding the clutch - just pick your line and go.

Just got an 09 300 XC W and it came with a Recluse. Been riding a 96 CR 250 for years. Still haven't been on a real ride yet. I am leary about the clutch. Never needed a Recluse before, and if it didn't come already on it, don't think I'd put one on. But seems like about 90 % of people like them.

For riding rough hill sections and single trails it was Great. It gave me more confidence to do the harder stuff because it was easier to handle the bike.

The Rekluse clutch helps out in a lot of different terrain, sand, mud, downhill etc. The engine won't stall out, it just makes riding a easier in tough times 👍

Does having the recluse clutch ever get annoying or is it awesome all round

Hi Dirtbiker, it is Awesome all round 👍 you can ride it like you would normally (trails/enduro/for fun) you won't stall the engine when hitting the bake brakes. It definitely makes the hard sections and hill climbs easier.

Yeh that's a bugger, I wonder why they don't make one for them? They are still a very popular bike.

Hello! Thanks for the vid. Can you use de clutch like stock too??

Hello, Yes, you can use the clutch as the bike would be in stock condition. You can still pop the clutch to to get over logs, do wheelies racing starts etc. You really notice how good the Rekluse clutch is when you are in hard conditions. Even riding for fun it has its benefits.

    Worth the cost? Any negatives??

I paid $540 for the Rekluse clutch new, it was the less expensive than the professional type which was over $1000 .
PROS - no stalling the engine when locking back brakes and its was unreal for shitty hills and tight tracks through the bush.
Can use throttle to climb the hills without feathering clutch. You can still use the clutch like normal if you want to.
Cons - you sometimes forget what gear your in haha - small adjustment needed as the Rekluse settles in, but that wasn't a problem at all.
It was definitely worth the money 👍 it made riding the hard stuff easier.
