Great video. I had a big Word Bearers army back around 4th - 6th edition that I remember fondly, sold them when I stopped playing 40k. Full of conversions, metal Dark Apostle made out of an old Raptor sergeant and load of metal bits. Good old days
Blessings of the Four be upon you brother. As a fellow Word Bearer, I love adding scrolls and things to the basic guys to make them more "Unholy." While more work than just kitbashing, I think making parchment, that hangs off pauldrons, with green stuff also is a good way to go. My Dark Apostle is using the base of a Sisters of Battle Hospitaller (the one with the wounded sister). It looks like he is sacrificing her to the gods. Great video, and you've given me some more ideas for my army.
Great video! Building a Word Bearer army as this video comes out. They are probably the legion with the best use of the regular CSM range as you pointed out, only benefits from upgrades here and there. The CSM Combat Patrol box is an amazing start with things you want from Word Bearers, like cultists, Possessed and a Master of Possession. I would say that I disagree on the Possessed being almost the size of normal marines, they are quite noticeably wider and taller, and stand on 40mm bases. Their main issue is that they are very monopose. I would perhaps consider using the Gal Vorbak for 5 extra Possessed, perhaps even mixing and matching parts with the leftover bits from the Possessed kit. I did not attempt that yet tho. Beyond books and fire one cool thing that is very WB is runes and text on the armor. With a lot of patience you can make use of the white runes on the CSM transfer sheet and WB-specific one and cut it into small stripes that would fit on the armors.
A great source for mutation bit's is gene-stealer/tyranids, just swap out and arm or a hand and now your power claw is a mutation. For the tyranid rather than gene-stealer bits you may want to mix up some milliput and smooth over the very distinct segmented plates(same with the "flesh vents" on the gene-stealers). That said the single most mutated model I've ever seen was a kit-bash a friend of mine did with the 5th edition multi part plastic kits where one torso had somewhere in the range of between 6 and ten arms wit no legs(I think there were a pair replacing the backpack vents like Argal Taul's wings) and most of the hands had been replaced with chain-swords. Another one me and a friend did with the old tiny Abbadon that was missing most of it's parts where we attached a small pair of wings didn't have his trophy rack replaced the talon with I think some tentacles and the head with one of the tyranid arms that's just a scythe like blade with no hand.
Yes! I should have remembered this. I actually have a video of a kitbash of Tigurius who is infected by the hive mind here ua-cam.com/video/6Ic8nrgxcWk/v-deo.html I'm using loads of bits from Genestealer Cults for this kitbash.
You're not the only one who thinks this, but they are just not for me. I think the possessed are more diverse and look more lost to chaos than the Gal Vorbak.
Great idea. It's similar to the conversion I suggest to use the base of a Skulltaker, but it will be more heavily armoured. My Master of Executions is basically a combination of a Skulltaker and Exalted Eightbound.
Very nice ideas. The Chaos endless spells looks really good for WB. Another small source for books and scrolls would be skaven plague monks. And for my personal taste, Dark Angels can also be a good source for kit bashing. Imo robes and hoods work really well with WB.
Not GW kits, but for cultists the stargrave scavengers and frostgrave wizards are great. The scavengers come with religious looking hooded heads and the wizards have a bunch of scrolls and books.
Oh, I like those scavengers. I think they could do well as any kind of cultists for any chaos army, really. Pimp them up with some books and scrolls and you have great Word Bearer cultists.
I really like all the clean edits you do on these videos but the use of ai pictures in the background is really disappointing. Also, I know its subjective, but incredibly L take on the gal vorbak. Imo some of the best sculpts in the heresy range, I think they outshine any possessed mini GW has sculpted but to each their own.
I really prefer the greater variety of mutations on the new possessed. It makes the minis a lot more unique than the old Gal Vorbak :) How do you suggest I can change the backgrounds of these videos?
@@FogOfGore official artwork or damage artwork with credits would be great! There is so so much of it out there as long as you ask for permission or use official art I think that would go a long way! Also yeah I totally get if you want more mutations or updated armour marks on 40K marines for possessed. Personally just love the gv they tick every box for me
Check out my Abaddon conversion to a Word Bearer here: ua-cam.com/video/o213oBOGW8I/v-deo.html

Shame, I could never sell my armies. I'm afraid I would regret it later.

Got any pics of that Dark Apostle? I would love to see it!
@@FogOfGore Posting a video with some conversions, and kitbashes. Hope y'all like it.

The runes are a good addition indeed! They will liven up the armour even more.
Great video, very thorough!
Thank you!

You're the only guy I've EVER heard that doesn't like the Gal.
awesome video! very fun ideas
Glad you like them!
Great video 👍👍
Thank you 👍
The Gal'Vorbak are the coolest minis I've ever seen

Love this video I am thinking about starting a emperors children’s army and I wonder if you could do a video about them
Absolutely. I have a completely converted Genestealer Cults army that is a cult of Slaanesh, so I know exactly what bits to get!
The possessed and greater possessed are all the same size. The new possessed aren't small at all. Bigger than marines noticeably
Correct. I wonder if Fog was thinking about old possessed.
Another great video 👍
Thanks again!
Great video! I was considering kit bashing some exalted 8 bound as 'leaders' for my possessed

Yeah, I really like the endless spells. Even just for decoration or some kind of markers. The plague monks are a good suggestion as well, thanks!

🔥🤘❤️
It would be cheaper to get a 3d printer and print those bits

Welcome to the hobby! 😀
Great video! Really like the background pictures too! AI makes better art then what GW puts out these days...
