This is probably a dumb question but how are loppers measured? I've got a pair that's 28" from the end of the handle to the point. I need to replace it with something about the same size but I'm not seeing how they're measured!

Hey @gregp74 ! Good question and there are no "dumb" questions. 👍 Loppers are measured in both their handle length and also the largest size of branch they will cut. So, you can definitely replace your loppers with a 28" or even 30" length handle, but it's good to know how large a branch it will cut. Some loppers have it printed somewhere on their handles or right on the cutting area of the lopper (be careful). Take a look around the surface of your lopper, or, if you can't find it, try to match it the best you can. Or, what Sean likes to do is, go with the largest size you think you will need to get the job done. This could be 2" or even 3"-4", depending on your needs and what each manufacturer has available. Sean really likes both the traditional cutting loppers and the "compound" or heavy cutting loppers. Here are few we have (affiliate links): amzn.to/3QGiiGW and amzn.to/3R465vV
Buyers choice, of course. Hope that helps and have fun choosing your new loppers! 😉😊

@@SpokenGarden Hey thanks! The old ones have an overall length of ~28" The ones I have on order say 28" but I wasn't sure if they were measuring that from end to end or just the handle and not the blade.
