This video is a bit shorter than usual, but I hope you enjoy it all the same! It was 2 weeks late - sorry about that - I was ill for a while but to be frank the delay was mostly down to incredibly intense procrastination :)
Your videos have a great vibe to them, and you've got a natural reading voice. Hope you're proud of these videos, they're really slick. Don't burn yourself out
As someone who played a paladin in vanilla and who's favourite Elder Scrolls is Oblivion I'm feeling very spoilt. Keep it up mate your videos have been great.
Great video, you captured the atmosphere perfectly of Oblivion and adventuring to Hackdirt. That creepy town is one of my most memorable moments from ESIV
This video is brilliant! I got the biggest dumb grin when I heard the Monty Python music. Perfect choice. I also love the lingering shots on Bethesda NPCs doing Bethesda things. Very grateful I got recommended this one by the ol' algorithm!
Such a beautiful video. You bring the best out of the game. Including the funny parts, without the need to make forced jokes like so many others. You have a unique style. I hope to see more of your work in the future.
Wow, this video was excellently made! I have never played Oblivion, but it's graphics and artstyle really appeal to me. They remind me of Mount & Blade: Warband, and Gothic 3, two great games. A magical video you made here, i hope to see more of this. :)
Lovely video once again, I also appreciate your subtle sense of humour, as in 4:15. As many have pointed out, a lot of elder scrolls content creators try to shoehorn jokes that ruin the atmosphere. You have yet to fall in that trap, and I hope it never happens haha, keep it up!
My gf's been explaining Elder Scrolls lore to me for a bit now but I never thought to connect the Elder Scrolls lore with a game that's actually able to tell that story. I always saw Morrowind as that funny game where the NPCs just run into walls all the time and yell "YOU THERE! STOP!" for the silliest reasons. It's cool to see the beauty of this game being displayed like this instead of just all the meme videos. Thanks for the change of pace!
This was a really cozy video, hope you do this narrative style for more of the quests. Feels like early Machinima content which is something I haven't seen in sooo long.
When I was a kid, Elder Scrolls invoked in me the feeling of Lord of the Rings. Ever since I am an adult, it invokes in me the feeling of Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Both good, but for very different reasons.
Whatever is in that cavern is some other adventurer's problem. Great video though! Always a favourite quest of mine, wished it had more to it in the base game.
Great video! I like the way you stopped for a brief moment to question everything and raised the intrigue at the end. That last steep end of the cave always creeped me out.
YESSS I just found you a couple days ago and loved the WoW vids but now you post an oblivion one too???? Oh man i have a feeling im going to love your channel for a long time to come
I was so confused as to how I didn't recognize any landmarks in the city, then I realized it was a mod lol. Now I wanna play Oblivion again cause those mods look so cool
It's cool that newer people who never really got to experience Obligion as we did might get the feel we did when we did this quest. Your presentation helps fill in that old sense of things that we'd get when playing it in person back in the day and get it across for a video viewer.
Truly fantastic editing work from 11:45 onward. Didn't even realize, until the snippet was almost over, that it was an homage to fixed-camera horror games; I'm a stranger to that era, so maybe I'm just slow on the uptake, but when I _did_ catch on, I had to leave a comment. Well done!
Man thanks for your videos you captivate the essence of what made WoW, and my favourite game Oblivion, my two favourite games of all time, its like you picked everything from the OG period! Thank you
Absolutely love the style of this video. I hope you head to Cheydinhal. I love that place. I could watch you play this whole game like this. Just subscribed.
@@glados8653 Its not? There are a lot of textures that are certainly modded in. So I guess the Cthulu-reference were part of a mod updating the quest then.
i used a couple of mods to 'touch-up' hackdirt and expand the caverns a bit, but the narrative is untouched. in vanilla, the tunnel leading to the spooky dark room is caved in, but you can hear creepy monster noises if you turn up your game sound and stand next to the rubble
Don't want to repeat the praise from all the other commenters, so I'd like to highlight how much I appreciate your song selection. Who knew Kingdom Come's soundtrack (one of my favourite games and OSTs ever) would fit Oblivion so well? Great job.
I'm 1:30 into this video and I'm thinking, "man the way this guy so eloquently describes his journey is so choice and familiar" lol yep I was watching a WoW video of yours last night! I did your content. The WoW stuff is great, can't wait to see what this one has in store :) You really have a way of bringing the viewer along your RPG journey!
I always loved this quest Hackdirt is such a strange place and Dharma and her mother are such nice and warm people. If we do get a Oblivion remaster I'd love this to get expanded into a larger quest line.
It's the Glory of Cyrodiil modlist, plus the stuff in the description, plus Hesu's mods, and several other personal tweaks, of which I've long since forgotten about
The quest is a homage to the H.P. Lovecraft story "Shadows Over Innsmouth" about a town of weird-looking folk who are worshipping Dagon. There is also a videogame based on this story called 'Call of Cthulu' with a memorable section in which your sleep at the inn is disturbed by townsfolk trying to break in to murder you.
I feel like Oblivion has been getting a lot of attention recently...I suspect it's because of the various references to it in Starfield. Like the Adoring Fan! Either way, I'm thrilled to see one of my favorite ever games getting some love almost 20 years after its release!!
This video is a bit shorter than usual, but I hope you enjoy it all the same!
It was 2 weeks late - sorry about that - I was ill for a while but to be frank the delay was mostly down to incredibly intense procrastination :)
Oh man, the content procrastination is a real thing. Glad you're feeling better!
Your videos have a great vibe to them, and you've got a natural reading voice. Hope you're proud of these videos, they're really slick. Don't burn yourself out
In the age of fast pace content, yours stands out. Please keep doing what you are doing. Looking forward to more.
As someone who played a paladin in vanilla and who's favourite Elder Scrolls is Oblivion I'm feeling very spoilt. Keep it up mate your videos have been great.
thanks! we are one in the same haha
after morrowind, i hated olivion. but maybe i'll try the remake that was recently announced.
@richtravis9562 you're talking about Skyblivion? It's not really a remake, it's a skyrim mod and was announced back in 2012.
I like how your commentary is like a mix of observing the game with a bit of exposition AND going through the pov of a person in the world itself.
this is so cozy after having just finished my first ever playthrough in oblivion, especially with better cities
great timing :P
Setting it up right now to play it modded on PC for the first time. I'm excited about better cities!
Better cities isn’t the oblivion way….

Verigan finds a way to stretch out the ambient sound and visual scapes that surround these stories to settle into the worlds of these beloved games
Nice work! I like the narrative, storytime approach to playing this quest that you're doing.
Your content is so calming and well-made. You are a great storyteller!
Great video, you captured the atmosphere perfectly of Oblivion and adventuring to Hackdirt. That creepy town is one of my most memorable moments from ESIV

11:51 Mate, I love the sneaking in the Silent Hill item pickup sound.
This really makes me want to play oblivion again
Such a beautiful video. You bring the best out of the game. Including the funny parts, without the need to make forced jokes like so many others. You have a unique style. I hope to see more of your work in the future.
It helps when the game is it's own joke :P
Wow! This was a great video; I really enjoyed it.
This was lovely, thank you. Excellent pillow shots and framing. I’ll be happy to watch anything else you produce
Love the editing on this one, really did the creepy vibes of hackdirt justice, moreso than oblivion's normal jankiness could.
Damn, this was one the most played games of my childhood. Can't wait for Skyblivion to release
Been having fun with heartland modpack once you dial that in its surprisingly smooth
You have excellent production value and pacing. Really captured my attention.

Glad you liked it! Jank is unavoidable with these games though sadly haha
I think you mean Oblivion
... morrowind is the game where that happens the least lol.
@@cypresshill9268 He is trying
This is such a neat, little video. Not much more to say, I just really enjoyed it and now I really wanna play Oblivion again :)
The creepy vibe suits oblivion NPC's so well. Cool video man
This was a really cozy video, hope you do this narrative style for more of the quests. Feels like early Machinima content which is something I haven't seen in sooo long.
While I care much less about Oblivion than I do about Warcraft, you commanded no less of my attention. Love your work!
this video has such a comfortable vibe to it. i almost feel like i'm watching a wildlife documentary
I found your channel from the wow videos, but this one really shows your creativity. Love the silent hill section!
When I was a kid, Elder Scrolls invoked in me the feeling of Lord of the Rings.
Ever since I am an adult, it invokes in me the feeling of Monty Python and the Holy Grail.
Both good, but for very different reasons.
Kingdom Come Deliverance music made this very cozy
Whatever is in that cavern is some other adventurer's problem. Great video though! Always a favourite quest of mine, wished it had more to it in the base game.
I love your content style so much and the camera angles you get are so wonderful. Great job dude! I hope you keep making this stuff for some time
Fantastic video! Love the slow and deliberate pacing, and the small atmospheric touches with the sound. Very cozy and inspiring.
Great video! I like the way you stopped for a brief moment to question everything and raised the intrigue at the end. That last steep end of the cave always creeped me out.
Lovely video, your editing is evocative and the way you frame scenes is so fun
I am getting Anthony Bourdain vibes from this video and I love it
This is fantastic content, despite having played this questline and probably watched half a dozen lore vids on it I still found it throughly enjoying
I would love to watch an entire lets play-esque series with this exact type of editing
Wait this isn't a paladin's journey of becoming a hero of the Light...
The Kingdom Come: Deliverance music fits Oblivion so well.
The resident evil style camera work is brilliant by the way

this video was much more then I've expected
Oh snap he’s back 🫡
It took me way too long to realize it was a mod. I was wondering how I missed such a great quest-line for so long.

one of the best channels i've seen a while :')
